On friday-saturday, im going to play vidya for 24 hours straight. Anyone got any tips on how to not fall asleep midway through? Thanks.
Gaming for 24 hours straight
Beware of blood clots
le kill yourself
Take some Adderall. The time will just fly right by.
do stretches, stay hydrated, drink coffee, don't have a heavy meal later in the run. eat you 'main meal' earlier for fuel.
What kind of drinks should I have, Also, what kind of snacks and dinner should I have?
Just make sure you get up every 2 hours and walk around. Drink a lot of coffee when you feel tired not before.
If you don't take breaks you will get a blood clot, some people bounce their feet when their sitting this is a good habit to have it circulates blood and prevents blood clots even further.
>I do this all the time.
This. Last summer I took vyvanse and did every puzzle in talos principle in one sitting over the course of a day, going in blind. Good fucking times man, and a great game.
Sounds like you've got like one day off and you wanna enjoy the fuck out of it.
Just dont stay 100% still and get a clot, senpai.
Perhaps you're not familiar with the Adderall/Monster cocktail. I usually buy a few of the larger Monster energy drinks, fill each one with a dose of 30mg Adderall XR, let it dissolve, and chug them over the course of the night. It's insane how focused you'll be.
Yeah, get up and move around. Don't have caffeine, its bad for your heart. Actually fucking sleep if you get tired, because staying up and negatively affecting your health because of video games is stupid, for literally any reason.
But for fuck's sake, stand the fuck up and move around for at least 10 mins every hour or so, unless you WANT to fucking die like that 30something year old guy on twitch who did a 24hr stream for charity or some shit and died from a clot, or that one kid who just sat for 20 hours on xbox and died from a clot.
Move.
Anyone got any music recommendations?
Literally why?
Regardless, I did during Extra Life a few years ago. Know that you will likely lose the will to live at the 19-hour mark, and that this will continue until the 22-hour mark. At that point, you'll simply stop feeling alive or gain a second wind.
Stay hydrated, take breaks every 45 minutes to stretch, and do something that isn't game for 24 hours straight.
Havent had a day off in a few weeks
Also, have a bet with a friend. If i can do this im getting 1000$
I do this every year as part of a charity fundraiser at my work. It's not that hard to just stay awake IMO but some people seem to always pass out in their chairs at 4am.
The most important thing is to stay hydrated and have some actual real food to eat. If you aren't already a waterfag, I highly recommend you become one at least for your marathon. Peanut butter is a staple food form me during the marathon, but whatever you like is fine as long as its not just all junk food.
Some caffeine is fine but don't rely on it to keep you awake. You'll feel like shit by the end of it if you do. Remember to get up out of your chair once in a while. Just doing a lap around the room can do a lot to keep you feeling more awake.
If you're playing multiple games and not just a single game 24-hour marathon, then have some action-y games that you can play mindlessly for when you hit that wall 20 hours in. I've used TF2 and Sonic Generations the past couple years. I also highly recommend something that can absorb a lot of hours easily (for me, Civilization does it).
Don't play any games with long loading times. Sitting through a long loading screen after 20 hours is torturous on your motivation.
>$1000 for a fairly easy bet
I need extremely retarded wealthy friends like that
Yeah, I would say hes pretty well off.
None of the puzzles in Talos Principle are harder than
>get access to the pieces you'll need
>unlock one part of the puzzle, move some stuff to that area
>close off the earlier part and use your pieces to get the end
I dunno why people jerk the game off so much. A lot of the implementation is lazy as shit too, like the way the fans work.
Don't. You will feel like shit by the end of it and it will stop being enjoyable. You'd have more fun this weekend if you slept normally and worked out each day, then spent the rest of your time playing games
water.
theres no real peak performance foods for a gaming seesh lol, but w/e you like to eat, I would have your big meal of the day earlier. breakfast or lunch. if u ate a lot later in the day you might crash.
Get drunk as you go. Helps prevent blood clots and once you pass the initial tired stage, you should be able to last until you put your head down
24 hours isn't really that impressive.
It is playing vidya the entire time with no break. Ive stayed up 90 hrs+ but i know its a lot different when playing vidya.
Cocaine. Gram and a half will only run you 100 bucks.
the only hard part is getting past the initial wall of sleepiness, then you get a second wind and cruise along no prob. it actually gets hard to fall asleep after 24h, overly tired. usually end up going 30h or so if i make it to 24.
Unironically this. Get up and walk around for a few minutes, maybe get a cup of water every hour.
Enjoy dying user or at the very least risking serious health problems.
Don't forget to provide evidence
Stream it if youre cool enough. I'm sure Sup Forumsirgins wouldn't mind suggesting shit to emulate.
Lots of water, play while standing up, stretch, avoid sugar, open a window for fresh air
If you're gonna drink something caffeinated, drink it slowly instead of all at once so you don't get hit with a crash and even more tired than you would be otherwise
Cant stream it; Will provide evidence of the 24 hours though.
Oh, and if youre actually receiving a thousand fucking dollars for some God damn reason, go all out. Have a handheld on you at all times for when you have to leave your desk to use the bathroom or just get up to walk around. Go all out, man. And play a game worth exploring that you really can beat in a day. Dark Souls/Demons Souls are a hell of a lot of fun to explore if you haven't tried them yet.
>If you stay up for 24 hours one time you'll develop serious health problems and die
All he needs to do is occasionally move a bit, if he just drinks a ton of water so he has to regularly get up and walk to the bathroom he's good to go
>grad student
>have to use instrument during the night because it's always booked
>basically ten minutes of work every hour injecting samples
>play vidya and watch normie anime in my laptop to stay up
>"work" from 8pm to 9-10am
>go home, play for a few more hours
>pass out with old red vs blue seasons in the background
>best sleep of my life
I try to just book the instrument during the day but I always enjoy the complete sleep that comes after pulling all-nighters. I will say that after you pass the 21 hour mark it gets easier, at least mentally. Dunno about just video games, though. last time I played games for 24 hours was rainbow six 3.
Any music recomendations? Anyone got a playlist?
...
shitty numetal. It's a weird combination of listening to it ironically and catchy, nostalgic rhythm that might help keep you awake (assuming you listened to this stuff back when it was hot)
>Disturbed
>Linkin Park
>coal chamber
>Korn
>PoD
>saliva
>drowning pool
etc.
Because it's fun to play and fun to do the puzzles, and the fact that the devs added little secrets everywhere was comfy as fuck. I agree on the difficulty, there was only 1 hard one I think, and it was in the DLC.
What's the best way to get coffee?
I've been drinking it a little since I had to stay up longer. Just some instant coffee stuff, but it always taste like shit.
inject it
Get up and take a break every few hours, get up, walk around, get some water, stretch;get your limbs moving.
Sitting still for long periods can kill you
...
take 4 baby aspirins every 12 hours (during gaming session)
you're welcome.
i used to play 30 hours at a time every time i woke up as a teenager. eventually i dropped out of school to continue
