Celebrating, because thankfully I'm not a console cuck.
Being glad. Currently updating to 1.7.5 now. Hoping it'll be improved enough to play more BotW.
I'm still waiting for Nintendont on the Switch. When we get handheld 6th gen emulation, then and only then will emulation have won.
Thats a loss.
It ensures that Cemu went into scam levels.
>paying for what used to be a service to the community
>setting the *new* standard that if you want something emulation, you gotta pay
Sounds like Emulation lost to me tbqhfam
>meanwhile Bayo 2 sound still borked
Literally a BOTW emulator
BoTW isn't going to be fully emulatable until they can squeeze every dollar they can out of their patreons because they know no one is going to give a fuck once they can play BOTW at full speed with no glitches
Emulation only has to lose from this
...
>People literally PAY to PIRATE games
This is why PC fats will never stop being hilarious
How is it not illegal to fund CEMU? With the amount of action Nintendo takes against Youtube and other stuff how have they not attacked these guys
>taking advantage of rich idiots is a bad thing
Here is the big question: how long until Valve finds a way to make money from emulators?
The only bad thing here is the smell of the average PC piratefag.
Because emulators have been taken to court by publishers in the past and the emulators have ALWAYS won
>wait for the public release
>play BotW completely free
Your move
Is that GamerGoober chan?
>Wait to play a game
Sounds like your average day for a PC player. Waiting years to play a game other already played a decade before.
I am glad more people get to enjoy some great games.
Hope you guys get W101 to run quickly.
Daily reminder that Cemu's Patreon builds are timed-exclusive, they go free 1 week later and you should seriously stop spreading that kind of "Cemu is paid so it sucks" bullshit.
>500k/year
>W101 still not bootable
The Jews won.
paying money to run games poorly this is fucking dumb
Nintendo has so much more money than Cemu though if they were smart they would just keep filing lawsuit after lawsuit draining all of their time and money until they give up. Also its pretty bullshit that emulators keep winning.
>update to 1.7.5
>suddenly compiling shader cache takes much longer and hogs basically all of my cpu
How is it legal to take money to make a program thats meant to steal peoples copyrighted IPs?
>years
You know BoTW was running well on PC (4K, 30FPS) within a week of it being released on the Switch, right?
BotW was released on March 3, 2017. Check the date on this video: youtube.com
Why do retards make caps without a proper date showing?
Converting image file names is more effort than I'm going to put into your shit.
>"Emulation only has to lose from this"
>Exzap and his boys gets a juicy amount of donations which encourages them to keep working on the emulator and make progress
>Making progress is somehow a bad thing
???
1.7.5 any good?
The most ironic thing is not paying to pirate games.
The most ironic thing is the fact people spent 4 years shitting on the Wii U, telling its games were shit and not buying it and then deciding all of a sudden that they want to play those same games and also spending money for them.
really makes you think
They won't make more progress since 99% of the people are giving money to them for only one game
hey nice emulator nerds. i'll be over here playing zelda with no crashes while taking a shit
>people spent 4 years shitting on the Wii U, telling its games were shit and not buying it and then deciding all of a sudden that they want to play those same games and also spending money for them.
I don't know if you're aware of this, but the only game people care about on Wii U is Zelda: BotW. CEMU's patreon had $500/month before Zelda was released.
There's literally nothing wrong with receiving donations in return for doing the community a service.
They keep winning because of a little something called case law, Timmy. There is nothing illegal about creating and running a virtual machine. Pirating games can be illegal however.
I wouldn't mind having to pay for emulators, if they work well and dont cost nearly as much as consoles. Despite the controversy, thats a win to me.
Not to mention, thats only potentially down the line, CEMU is free, donator stuff like early access to the latest version doesnt mean much.
Isn't this illegal as fuck?
>Buying games
Ayy lmao.
Do people not realise giving them this kinda money actually hurts the progress they will be making, they will make small updates and drag things out so they get to keep having the money each month.
honestly are people this fucking thick?
>Also its pretty bullshit that emulators keep winning.
Dude, the reason emulators always win these lawsuits is because they're 100% LEGAL. There's nothing illegal about emulation. That's just a fact. You're literally saying that whoever has the most money should get to say what's allowed to do or not. Think about it for a while.
tbqh if it was truly perfect I'd pay more than a console for one
t. idort
>>"Haha people pay to pirate games"
>Cemu is free though.
>>"Haha PC Players have to wait X amount of time to play Y videogame and that's a bad thing because dicks"
Yeah, that makes sense, you can leave now.
Receiving money to create a virtual machine that allows people to play copyrighted games for free is another thing all together
Nope. There's literally nothing illegal about emulation.
Kind of confused why people think there is.
Yeah, not sure why he's posting it here.
>paying to pirate
You're doing it wrong.
They are not technically illegal but they are a gateway to many legal activites that they are getting by through loopholes. Sorry I think they should be able to defend their business
That's wrong though. People keep asking to play Bayonetta 2 and Smash too.
If by won you mean turned into another greed filled money grubbing money making venture then I was in my room being a bit sad.
You making these odd leaps by lumping pirating and emulation together into one thing is exactly why they're making money, and you aren't. They have a good understanding of the law.
That's the only valid argument I'd take, and even then is questionable because no one can see the future.
All in all, I'd say they're not hindering progress, 1.7.5 got to move Sm4sh at 60fps from what I saw on Youtube (a very unstable, but still 60fps anyways).
How can you have emulation without piracy?
It is when you refuse to accept community help since that would cut into your "profit margins".
I'm kinda with this.
Giving them enough to make it a full time job like RPCS3 guy did is cool, but give them too much and they will just slow down progress.
>They are not technically illegal but they are a gateway to many (il)legal activites
Kind of like how cars are "technically not illegal" but they're a gateway to running people over? So let's just sue car companies?
>Sorry I think they should be able to defend their business
Including by making a mockery of the law and treading on other people's legal rights? No. No they shouldn't.
no
Search the "Bleem!" incident in Google/Youtube.
Okay I laughed
You can have a car without running people over but you can't emulate without pirating.
>How can you have emulation without piracy?
How can you have guns without murder?
If its closed source then yeah plenty is wrong
They are taking advantage of desperate retards who in turn are setting a bad precedent
Personally I think the WiiU is still shit. And the three exclusives worth playing isn't enough to justify it. In fact I'm more salty than ever because Cemu can't even emulate them.
Whatever. They'll get ported to the 3DS in due time.
By owning the game
Why would it be?
An emulator without a ROM is literally a blank screen. Getting any ROM is stolen and considered piracy. I have a gun for self defense in my house. I'm not forced to go out and shoot people when I want to practice with it.
It's already completely playable.
Yeah, as we have seen from various furry porn games and such, Patreon is a horrible way to fund projects because it incentivizes NOT completing the project. Even Kikestarter is better.
do all the features of BotW work 100%? I remember hearing it had some problem with cutscenes h264 shit, and also the in-game-camera tool wouldn't work so you couldn't complete certain parts of the game that required taking pictures
Making backups of games that you own.
For example, say that I have BOTW on the WiiU, but I dont like the graphics I'm getting. I can then install CEMU, and then make a backup of my OWN GAME that I OWN to use with CEMU.
Making a backup is covered under the copyright law in the US, but sharing that backup/downloading it is illegal
If it has games, even just one, worth playing then it's not so shit as you think.
The only shit console is the one without one single game worth playing. Like the Xbone.
So you can use said game disk to run through your emulator?
Yes you can. It's called buying the fucking game.
Where do you think the ISO's come from in the first place? Some emulators even let you run the game off the legal CD without converting it.
No it's not. Still a shit ton of issues. Only the start of it is playable
>An emulator without a ROM is literally a blank screen.
True.
>Getting any ROM is stolen and considered piracy
False in multiple ways.
First off, if you own a copy of a commercial game in any form, you're allowed to run it in an emulator. Nothing wrong with that.
Secondly, there's such a thing as non-commercial games. People make free games for systems that can be emulated, even for archaic ones.
You seem super ignorant about the topic to be honest.
that's wrong though, older versions already had W101 running
>You can have a car without running people over but you can't emulate without pirating.
It actually astounds me that there are people so ignorant they believe this.
>Sup Forums spends years saying the Wii U is complete shit
>it's suddenly is the best thing ever when it comes to PC
Whole idea seems retarded to me. Why would you pay someone money to pirate stuff? Can't you just buy stuff and be done with it, without waiting and being scammed later?
A lot of people use emulation to play those "free games for systems" amiright
I would say the amount of people who actually own a copy of the games they are emulating is like 1%.
Most of WiiU's games worth playing have gotten ported to PC, Switch, or 3DS. I'd totally buy a WiiU for W101, Bayo2, and Dick Freeze but I'm pretty sure all three of those are getting "enhanced" ports on the Switch.
Name one person who has used emulation with only copies of games they have previously bought or own
You can successfully complete the entire game, maybe save for one or two puzzle dungeons. 1.7.4 fixed pretty much everything: physics, water, collision, foliage, etc.
>Sup Forums spends years making these same pointless arguments that assumes there is only one person on the webside
>paying 41k for 1 game
fucking pcbros
I can understand the reasoning behind wanting to get the latest game if I owned a console where 1 good game came out every 6 months, but every pc gamer has a huge backlog of games they want to play due to the volume of releases that come out. Playing Zelda 2 years from now is very plausible.
>The most ironic thing is the fact people spent 4 years shitting on the Wii U, telling its games were shit and not buying it
Well the Wii U was shit, and people didn't shit on the games themselves. They shit on the overall lack of games for the system
Most PC users are gigantic hypocrites.
that's all on people downloading stuff illegally and not the emulator developers
you can't pin that blame on emu devs legally
It actually astounds me that pcfags actually still believe that pirating games is somehow morally right and they argue it on the internet and make fun of people who actually buy their games and support the industry
Pretty much everyone who owns a card have done something illegal with it at some point as well, but that doesn't make cars illegal.
Some people probably don't want to pay for an entire console just to play one game. I personally can't find anything else that would interest me on WiiU or Switch.
I'm a fan of piracy and my big excuse is that I'll never have to buy a game that's shit and deal with that, and emulation is great too but I'll just be the faggot here for a moment and point out you people bitch they move onto ios games and other casual shit..do you expect them to make amazing games under the notion you'll buy them?
Fuck faux morality I just want to know video games will at least be made with more effort after this voting wih your wallet shit
The only thing i can't is people donating so much money to them they don't even need this much money.
>but I'm pretty sure all three of those are getting "enhanced" ports on the Switch
Don't be so sure. Some of the best GC games never got a Wii port (like fFZero GX), some of the best Wii games never got Wii U ports either. Don't rely too much on it.
Besides, those 3DS ports are so shitty they aren't even worth mentioning. Mario Maker on 3DS has no online, Yoshi 3DS looks like crap, Smash 3DS has the shittiest controls ever and Zelda musou on 3DS might be as well a powerpoint slideshow with bad controls too.
~$15 if you donate for 3 months vs $200 for a system. It ain't that hard to figure out
Daily reminder that donating is an absolutely optional thing to do and you don't need to donate at all to freely use Cemu so nobody's taking advantage of anything.
People using incorrectly a website's service isn't a new thing at all and it's not necessarily related to Cemu either.
>Making backups of your own games is piracy
(You) can now leave.
Honest question here...
Do the developers of Cemu have ANY intention on fixing/updating their emulator to perfection or just purposefully withholding builds and releasing it in increments for years to come?
Holy fuck, if I were in the shoes of those developers and seeing all that money pouring in, I would have no incentive on fixing it and probably release bullshit updates little by little. I wouldn't have to work for fucking YEARSSS. Can't be just me, you have to take advantage of idiots, life is too short.
Won what? Even N64 emulation is still absolute garbage 21 years after it released. Emulation is always going to be an inferior experience, only worth it because something isn't worth the money to you. It's ALWAYS better to have the real product, because there will always be bugs and issues with emulation no matter how hard or long they work at it.
Literally every time the Wii U is brought up everyone shits on it, not just one person.
