At precisely what point did you start to lose hype for this game?

At precisely what point did you start to lose hype for this game?

Pic related is mine

I still held out hope until I saw his gameplay that somehow looks worse than generations.

I will lose hype the moment I see modern sonic in a 2D segment. Classic sonic completely eliminates the need for that shit. Generations was overall 80/20 2D to 3D

When I saw green hill zone

>a Sonic game
sometime in mid 1990s I guess.

>Not hyped to play as Sonic's son

I still had hope back then.

It was the most recent gameplay footage that finally made me quit.

At least Sonic Mania will make sure Sonic isn't complete shit in 2017.

I never got hype though.

I already knew it'd tank harder than Miltank's udders.

When the gameplay was first shown.

I've had enough of Temple Run Sonic.

When I saw the Green Hill Zone gameplay and some generic dubstep/D&B/electro/techno garbage played instead of the Green Hill theme.

I'm not hyped but at the same time I'm not ready to call it blunder of the millenium just yet.

The green hill gameplay was massively disappointing, Sonic team actually has no clue how to do 2d but someone keeps letting them try for some reason.

I'm still reserving judgement since we haven't seen intermediate/advanced levels and the third gameplay style, but its safe to say the 2d will be generations tier, which is really too bad.

Why would I lose hype for a Unleashed/Generations gameplay?

Thats the good shit.

Looks even worse than Generations tier m8. It looks DIMPs tier now with all the boosters and springs everywhere.

When they showed the green hill footage where they basically improved nothing.
It's especially sad when you have mania in the other room perfectly emulating that style of gameplay. Then you have Sonic Team's junky haphazardly stitched together shit.

The CGI trailer sort of showed Modern Sonic running in 2D though

Can't lose something you never had.

True, but I was speaking more how they didn't change the physics at all. Generations classic sonic is just holding spin dash to skip massive swathes of the level and hope you dont bash your face into something. The levels looked really pretty but it plays all wrong.

I never cared much for it to begin with since Mania had me excited enough and am going to get it but that latest Classic gameplay looks a bit worrisome to me.

Sure, but the Bubsy looking guy could ruin the whole thing for all we know. I'm not ready to write it off just yet, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about it.

Luckily Sonic Mania can heal the wounds before they're even inflicted.

Speaking of, I wonder what DIMPS is even doing now that they don't need to make shitty handheld ports anymore.

>the Bubsy looking guy
It's all but confirmed to be an avatar the play can customize

Dimps hit a gold mine returning to dragon ball Z games with xenoverse, they're most likely making a third one as we speak.

*player

>an avatar

So there's a chance I really can make Bubsy? Never mind, this game is gonna be amazing!

I never was excited.

We have a REAL Sonic game coming so who gives a shit about that bullshit anyway?

When I found out it was going to be another press boost button to win type of game with 2d gimmicks slapped into it.

I want a proper 3d sonic game. I want Sonic Adventures style of game.
I'm tired of 2d mixed with boost mechanics that are a thing since unleashed.

When I knew Sonic Mania existed

I was never hyped to begin with

This. 3d sonic needs to be 3d. Add some more platforming to them

When I saw the gameplay for the modern stages. The boost novelty has worn off on me.

Ditto. I loved Generations but Classic Sonic levels felt lacking. Colors was way better.

I'd much rather play a classic styled game like Mania than having him shoehorned into a modern game.

I dropped it as soon as Classic Sonic showed up in the trailer. There's really no need for him anymore, as Mania is built to cater to those fans.

Then the Green Hill footage came out, which makes the classic style look utterly laughable.

Forces started development before Mania was a thing. They probably didn't want to scrap the Classic Sonic stuff they already worked on.

I'm still hyped. I've literally begged Sega for a new Sonic game that's Generations 2.0 and they're fucking delivering on that.

The moment they announced a new Sonic game was being developed by Sonic Team.

>Unleashed 2 with Knuckles platforming in place of werehog never
It's so obvious but nope, let's not.

>dubstep/D&B/electro/techno
It's actually none of these.

The second it showed a bunch of robots burning down a city in a cutscene that looks right out of Final Fantasy.

Can't lose hype if you never had any to begin with.

>tripfaggot hates the cool shit
Shocker

I lost the hype the moment Sonic Adventure was released

>The only worthwhile playstyle is the first one you play and its short as fuck
>It only covers a part of the story
>Everything else is fucking awful and retarded
>You're forced to play it to get the full story
>Shitty chao minigame that just fills space

Holy shit, i never dropped a franchise so fast

THUNDAH

Ah yes, lets not forget boco needs everything to be retarded ass AoStH babby tier to cater to his shit taste
Here's hoping we get more Baldy McNosehair

Wait wait, the OC creator thing is real??? don't tell me that Sega employee leaking info about the game was legit?

Classic as well. We already have Mania, yet Sonic Team just constantly goes "remember Green Hill zone?!??!" rather than actually trying anything new. I loved Generations, but after that, that should have been enough.

I'm legit convinced that it's just going to be the same Baldy McNosehair humor just in a different setting this time

There's no way this game will be even as dark as the Adventure games will, and if it tries, it'll fail harder than them.
