>Ruined everything you and I love about gaming >Killed off many franchises that were strong in the Generation 6 >Killed off many developers that were strong in Generation 6 >Killed off many practices that were the standard in Generation 6 >Created the Dudebro >Allowed women to come in and utterly destroy everything that is video game culture >Caused Japan to change the way they make video games (make them more western) >Sold Diritos and Mountain Dew to gamers >Invented DLC and the practices that come with DLC >Release incomplete games that must be patched on day 1 >Created the "Cinematic Experience" >Games are barely video games, they try very hard to be movies >Skill and challenge no longer exist in many games, only a small few. Or literally ONE game.
Fuck Generation 7 forever! FOREVER!
No matter how you look at it (and just because a few games that cater to me or you still exist) the ratio is 10: 1. For every game that comes out and caters to my taste they will get 10 in return. So if I got 2 in 2017 that's 20 fucking games for them, so don't give me that bullshit about there still being good games out there. In the Gens before 7 it was the other way- NO it was fucking nonexistent for them. We got all the games! Now we barely get anything, and when we do get something good here come these fucks all up in our space, becoming interested in things that belong to us. That how you know they're sine filthy fucking westerners - they have been invading and taking over lands since the beginning of time. Fucking barbarians.
Explain. Because my DMC is now DmC thanks to Generation 7. Go ahead, I want to see you defend DmC.
Logan Martin
THIS~! Gen 7 was awesome!
William Turner
Gen 6 is what started DLC, online bullshit(ie paid online, release broken fix later practice, focus of online play), and the modern generic console FPS. >Created the Dudebro >Sold Diritos and Mountain Dew to gamers You can than 6th gen for that also, champ. Matter of fact nearly everything on your list is from 6th gen.
Aiden Clark
>Ruined everything you and I love about gaming >Killed off many franchises that were strong in the Generation 6 >Killed off many developers that were strong in Generation 6 >Killed off many practices that were the standard in Generation 6
explain these
Adam Walker
Post one game from Generation 6 that did this on the same level as Generation 7. There were no season pass garbage, no day one patches, no used games firewall that required you to buy an online code from the marketplace/psn, you can't even compete here.
Lincoln Ross
See: Capcom for the first three.
>Killed off many practices that were the standard in Generation 6 The biggest example is difficult. They have killed off difficulty to the point that a game manage to market itself as being difficult. That would have never worked in Generation 6 or any Generation before because most games were difficult by default.
Mason Russell
The dudebros have been playing vidya since the NES. They just weren't "the kid that always talks about Nintendo". There wasn't a kid on my high school football team that didn't know most of the multiplayer maps on Goldeneye by heart.
Dewritos only came into it because that generation grew into its largest target demographic -- young adults with disposable income, and that's when everyone else followed suit.
It's about money.
Owen Peterson
>Post one game from Generation 6 that did this on the same level as Generation 7 How about 3? Halo2? Crimson Skies? Samba de amigo? There's plenty more examples.
>There were no season pass garbage There was. It was just called "map packs" back then. >no day one patches Eh... They still released bugged and fixed later.
>no used games firewall that required you to buy an online code from the marketplace/psn With how it works today I guess not.
Kevin Davis
>The dudebros have been playing vidya since the NES. Not really. You're talking about 2-3times increase in the amount of people playing video games from 5thgen to 6th gen. It's the normie gen that brought in dudebros. You'd have to be underage or one of the normies to think otherwise.
Christian Lopez
A Season Pass has you spending extra money for content that is already on the disk. It is completely different than a Halo 2 "map pack". That's why so little games did this back then because it was hella costly. Bungie had MicroDollars.
>bugs Where was the BxR and Quad Shot bug fix? Clearly you're not talking about Halo 2 this time, so could you tell me which of these games were you referring to? Also, that's not a "day 1 patch" for an incomplete game moron. Have you seen the sizes of some of these patches?
Carson Smith
Most of the things you cry about were actually things that happened in the 6th gen. But like you are complaining about it in the 7th gen, the problem actually came from the 5th gen when Microsoft entered the gaming world proper.
The manner in which they burst onto the scene and used their huge marketing divisions to sway opinion was something gaming just wasn't ready for. Gaming was running its own little C League of people interested in the medium and the hobby, then someone with the clout of the NFL comes along and says we all need to do NFL-tier moves if we want to be big. All the suckers bought it and now we have services instead of goods and experiences instead of games.
Thank Microsoft for introducing a stress to the ecosystem that gaming just wasn't capable of adapting to in such a short amount of time. It irreparably broke gaming. I am 100% serious. I don't blame MS though, if they didn't do it, someone else would have. Be happy it was them and not Panasonic (again).
Oliver Lopez
>The dudebros have been playing vidya since the NES
>Me: Hey guys you wanna talk about video games! >Them: Video Games!? Haha, what a nerd. How about you get on the football field instead you loser.
Fuck your lies.
Joseph Anderson
>hella >a map pack is acceptable So underage it is. >Where was the BxR and Quad Shot bug fix? No idea what that is. Hal2 was bugged to shit till it was fixed with a patch or if you bought the map packs. >Also, that's not a "day 1 patch" for an incomplete game moron. I said that kiddo. The game was bugged since release though. It just wasn't patched day 1.
I really don't get why you kids nuthug gen 6 so much. Never made sense to me. /vr/ became infested with you kids.
Tyler Flores
Microsoft joined in the 6th gen, not the 5th. We are currently in the 8th gen.
Gabriel Price
Try reading his post again. It was an obvious typo.
As I said in the post above yours. You kids really nuthug the 6th gen.
Adrian Hill
>Tries to use Halo 2 in his example >Has no idea what two of the most popular Halo bugs/exploits in the history of the franchise are
We know you didn't play Halo 2 multiplayer. And if you did it was probably at a friends house. You didn't even know what BxR is. Got damn you was a scrub at Halo 2.
Wyatt Long
My bad everything was shifted 1 key to the right. My point still stands that the problem is much older than you think it is. To older gamers there is a noticable difference between everything before the original xbox, and the time after its release.
Its night and day. The entire dichotomy of the medium shifted for the worse.
Benjamin Green
Why would I retard? You seem proud of the fact that you're cancer.
Jackson Jackson
He was probably playing real games at the time. I'm gonna side with the guy that provides sources over the guy posting nigger memes.
Lucas Barnes
> It's another thread about how the most recent generation ruined my favorite things
It's like this happens every generation or something
> But this time it's REAL!
No it isn't. You are insane.
Lincoln Allen
If you want to be mad at a generation, get mad at 8, not 7. 8 was the one that was denied a real Mario or Zelda and fucked over Metroid. 8 was the one that kowtowed to SJWs. 8 was the one where blatant anti-consumerism started. 8 was the Kickstarter scams. 8 was when Valve stopped trying.
Besides, some of the things you blame 7 on started with 6, like the dudebro (Xbox) and DLC (horse armor).
Camden Rodriguez
I agree.
PS1, PS2 and PSP eras were the best. Then PS3 and online gaming came and ruined everything. There is no current gen game that I want to play. None. It's all trash without substance.
Ethan Parker
Actually it's HD that did this.
Development for HD games dramatically increased development costs and when cost goes up so does risk, and with risk on that level and the budgets so high every game needs to be marketed to a wider audience, you can't have niche games which may or may not find an audience, you need to sell games to everyone in the safest way possible. The creative studios, who would take a gamble they all died or if they're lucky found their niche and started milking it.
No one would accept games going back to SD, if a new game came out and actually looked like it was from the PS2-era the fanboys would tear it to shreds in seconds. But that's the thing that killed gaming, that's why we have day-1 DLC, season passes, games that launch broken and then get patched 3 weeks later, cinematic experiences, these are all tactics to make a game more profitable and to save the company if a game under performs.
Leo Morris
Nothing compares to what Generation 7 has done to gaming. The list of sins is far too long. It makes other generations look innocent. They can't even compete in the sins category, and you're delusional or have been living under a rock if you don't realize how much has changed thanks to Generation 7.
For example; Square Enix released 1 Final Fantasy game (series) in that generation rather than doing what they usually do.
Connor Cooper
> Literally "But this time it's REAL!"
Ayden Phillips
You can list all the sins from your favorite generation and I will always have 2 sins for every 1 sin you post. You can't compete.
Owen Bennett
There are no sins from my favorite generation, or yours, because you invent them as a way to rationalize the passing of time and the change that it brings.
Oliver Price
I'll list one to take the pressure off you; Devil May Cry was rebooted. If you think that's not sin worthy then you can go fuck yourself.
