I don't get lets players who have no interest in engaging with the story of games.

Specifically game grumps, when they play a game, they barely stop to read any of the dialogue and continue rambling until they get confused and question what's going on.

Oney was showing one of his friends FF7 for the first time and instead of engaging with the story (The whole reason you play FF) he's just skipping through the dialogue as fast as possible.

What's the point?

They said in an episode they are playing this on the day of release so they don't have any experience or idea on how to play the game and there are no guides. Only complaint would be they should read some of the dialogue or at least leave the current level but considering this is the best level in the game I can't really fault them.
