But even so there are tiers to that.

Take for instance enemies that are pretty much human but do that twitchy thing.
Alot of demons looks exactly like humans but have inhuman strengths or abilities, maybe sporting only a slight hue difference.
Then you have stuff like the thing which is human like but can change. or the T-1000 is another example of that.

Somethimg that's han but not right, think Centaur from fallout or Solent holl monsters. That retarded shit from Souls doesn't count

It's cause it's sets some evolutionary fear in us. We can recognize ghosts and monsters as not real threats. But shit that looks like a deformed or decaying human sets off out "get the fuck out"

It's not really spooky but it's pretty damn good.

TSW was more about lovecraftian than spooks but it is well done.
