Do you still buy physical copies of games or is there no point anymore?
Do you still buy physical copies of games or is there no point anymore?
>buy game online
>50GB update
yeah no, physical all the way
>physical copies of games
You mean the piece of plastic with a downloader on it? No.
>buy "physical" pc game
>its just a steam code in a box
>buy "physical" ps4 game
>literally just a downloader
>3DS
>hacked so all digital shit for free
why would i buy physical?
>Buy physical copy of same game
>50 GB update
I do because I play a lot of games, and that shit adds up. However, don't feel any attachment to most of them, so selling them off saves me a ton of cash.
Yes, there is no reason to go digital unless you're an impatient fuck
>literally just a downloader
Not even that. It's only an on disc license that you have to mail into Sony. Then they fedex you a download code.
Games I can't get for free I buy
Because I have shit net that takes three hours for one gig physically
I buy physical so if I don't like the game or notice a spike in price, especially for SE/CE, I can sell them to make a profit and then buy a different game while getting all my money back, usually doubled, sometimes tripled.
I also use amazon prime and get $60 games discounted for $47 bucks, with same day shipping, so there's literally no excuse to say I'd get digital faster.
You're stuck with your digital games forever (or until you get your account stolen), but physical allows you the luxury of keeping or selling as you please (just don't use Gamestop).
There's no point in going digital whatsoever.
Feel you
The presentation on video game cases is hideous. If you're buying it for the sake of collection, why?
They really need to up their game. Honestly, the same could be said of most media. Their cases are an eyesore. Why do you want a line of them on a shelf in your home? It can't cost that much more to hire a proper artist to design your box art, like Criterion does when they re-release movies.
I want to snuggle Ashi!
I like physical. I usually only get digital if its the only way a game is released, like say for example devil may cry 4 was
>finish game
>got no replayabilty
>sell physical copy
or
>buy game
>its shit
>return copy
its a no brainer, i dont want to get stuck with shit like horizon dawn forever in my library
It now depends on the size since the PS4 does full installs now for both media types. I regret getting GTA5 digitally, it took me about a day to download. But I do mostly like physical copies still, since also there's really not much wait to install.
You do realize that girl is stark naked right?
las tphysical copy i bought was diablo 3 SE, thought the game would be good. but before that, it was years and years in the past anyway. i think battlefield 1942 was the last one i bought before that? I played quake3 and CS until like 2006, and lo and behold, steam cumeth.
I do, but I can definitely see why people wouldn't. Opening the cases just feels cold and empty now.
>buy digital game
>please log into steam
>please log into our own account system
>please install a huge 30gb day one patch
>must always be online to be able to play it
Yeah, well I guess i'm done buying newer games.
Nintendo it is then.
i want a snuggle and a hug if only for the last time
>buy physical game
>please log into video game system
>please log into game specific account
its all the same now. i havent owned a nintendo console since 1994 but they do the most anti consumer shit of all permanently tying games to one system
I do but it's getting harder and harder
>Nintendo it is then.
>buy digital game
>wait several months for them to release another one
I like having games on my shelf and being able to admire the artwork
Just bought a switch today. I didn't have to do any of that.
gotta get back
This and some low quality toy or steelcase is why I stopped buying physical.
I actually find it more convenient not to have game cases. I used to display them, but now I don't even look at them so it's kind of pointless for me. Also, another big reason for digital is that there is no spinning disc. The PS4 and especially the WiiU made more noise than the past consoles. Playing Bayonetta 2 on disc was actually annoying due to the noise of the drive.
I rebuy everything on steam if it gets released.
I won't ever buy digital playstation games because its possible they can remove it for any reason, like the developer or publisher going bankrupt.
back to the past
I hope you're at least buying physical.
Depends.
A game I'm really into I like to have on the shelf, but honestly I have way too many games for everything to be physical. Also play a lot of old stuff where emulation is a lot more practical than tracking down some 300 dollar SNES port of an arcade game when I can just load up MAME.
Sometimes I will for a good collectors edition if its really nice looking, most aren't. Otherwise yea I save money and go digital since half the time a new disc requires nearly the same damn download or installs slower via DVD then I could download it anyway.
Of course I do
Current consoles? Nah, there's no point. I still buy Vita games physical, though.
Wish I had something to buy physical shut for.
>TFW Steam Sales exist
what more?
Can't trade in digital
Checkmate fags
>Nintendo it is then.
>Please pay $60/mo for online please
>Oh, your dock broke, better cough up that 90 bucks, goy.
Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, no matter which one you pick your still a shit eating mongoloid for willingly subjugating yourself to this shitty practice.
Nice taste user
