Mario Kart is already Amazon's best selling game of 2017

B-but it's just a port

Unsurprising. Most people got BotW wherever they managed their Switch preorder, but now that they have it they might as well order MK8 through Amazon.

I cancelled my preorder Wednesday,
which seems to have paid off since people are getting delayed out the ass. Amazon oversold.

>sitting around with several screencaps of people ridiculing me for predicting 15mill+ lifetime sales for 8D

I know it's petty, but they will come in handy.

Probably resellers that fell for the switch meme buying in bulk to resell for more. They're going to be disapointed when they can't manage to sell it back.

How does cancelling your preorder help in that regard?

Are you going to look for it in a store instead?

If there's only one game on a console for the next year, everyone will buy it. Shocking.

Are these the kinds of mental gymnastics people have to perform nowadays to convince themselves that the Switch is a flop and that Nintendo are bunkrupt soon?

>wrong and not even witty about it

Step up.

Not an argument.

Mad as fuck.

Not an argument.

>Western people make bad choices when it comes to managing their money
wow news at 11

>wrong and not even witty about it

Step up.

Mario Kart is a literal system seller, so not that surprising the sales are so high.

>3 year old game
>2 DLCs that adds average tracks (ExciteBike track is 10/10 but the lag online makes it impossible to enjoy)
>instead of adding new characters they just put Miiverse squids
Buy digital : $ 59,99
Buy new : $ 59,88

I know.

But some people need to be shown how told they got.

>King Boo, Dry Bones, Bowser Jr., Inkling Boy and Girl
>An actual not retarded battle mode
>Actually 60 fps this time

I'm not mad, just irked that I was lucky for not getting the Wii U version.

Many of the added tracks are great.

And then there's of course the battle modes added.

... and how are the squids "Miiverse"?

>Actually 60 fps this time
>as opposed of 59,9fps
huge difference

Haven't played Mario Kart in years so I've had a great time. Renegade is my favorite mode so far. Something really satisfying about capturing other players.

It is if you notice it. If you are lucky enough to be ignorant of it, you would never tell the difference but once you know, it's hard not to see it every time you play.

> the lag online
Is non-exist for me :^)

Most people don't really have room to complain with the Wii U version. Nintendo gave people a free full priced Wii U game just for buying Mario Kart 8 originally. Customers already got a deal with this game, it's no wonder Nintendo didn't discount this double-dip.

>Units shipped determines... something
So when WWII ships quadruple the amount in less time, what exactly is that saying about CoD versus MK8?

I actually don't know how CoD will fare. The best selling CoD is MW3 at just under 31M sales across all platforms. Mario Kart Wii sold almost 36M by itself. Mario Kart DS also did CoD numbers.

It's amazing what Mario Kart can do compared to what CoD achieves across 3 separate platforms

>Most Switch owners don't even realize that it's a re-release.
W E W

>He plays Mario Kart online

Playing now, it's good. Haven't touched MK8 since it came out and really don't fancy hooking all the shit that comes with a WiiU back up to the TV just to play a kart racer. Will probably get bored and sell this copy but it's something nice to tide me over until Prey comes out and is probably shit

Why would it matter?

I went digital, because the game was only 8 gig, I wanted it on release day and was busy, and because I figured it was one of those titles I'd always want on me for the multiplayer.

I gave up the preorder savings for that, but now that I see so many delays -and given that I preordered relatively late in the game- I'm glad I canceled.

That's a good thing though...and it make the wii u's massive fuck up all the more hilarious/sad

>Using Amazon's sales to quantify the quality of a 3 year old WiiU re-release.

Well well well, look who gives a fuck about sales all of a sudden.

Look who doesn't anymore

Not the point, the point is that many people said MK8 Deluxe wasn't going to sell because it was old, and it very clearly has some excellent opening sales.

The comparative failure of the Wii U is a boon for Nintendo in this early gen. There are many new Switch owners who fall in one of two groups

>Fanboys
They'll buy it again for the marginal improvements and to play it on the new system/portably.

>Non Wii U Owners
The regular group of players of various types who skipped the Wii U and barely -if at all- played MK8 on someone else's system and would be happy to buy their own copy now that they own the Switch.

I should have done this. I pre-ordered mine when they first went up and I'm not getting my game until today even though the shipping I paid for was suppose to get me the game yesterday. First time I've pre-ordered something on Amazon and the last.

>many people said MK8 Deluxe wasn't going to sell because it was old, and it very clearly has some excellent opening sales.
It's one of two halfway decent games on the system dude, of course it's going to sell well.

>tfw Prime Now

That service is fucking incredible. Got my Switch and BOTW at 9am the morning they came out, could see exactly where my driver was, no queueing up or hoping other sites delivered.

If they offer Prime Now in your area and you aren't a broke NEET you should look into it, it's amazing. I don't even need to go out for food shops any more, saves me hours each week.

Amazon has its strong and weak points. The Preorder discount is great, but ever since it came into effect at least some customers not actually getting release date delivery has become a serial issue.

I hear that GCU from Best Buy (which offers a comparable discount) doesn't have these issues, but on the other hand it's a different base fee each year.

Pick your poison, or forego the discounts and use neither to get that delivery date.

I'm in that second group. I never bought a WIi U, so MK8 is brand new to me. Yet, my co-workers and brother can't understand why I'm excited for the Switch version because "It was on Wii U :^)"

I just thought it was amusing, my nigga. Just thought it was amusing.

I thought Amazon didn't sell Nintendo consoles directly? It's all third party marked up trash from what I see.

Amazon are weird. They wont sell Switch consoles themselves. But they'll take the order on behalf of Nintendo's storepage and fulfill those orders.

Yeah, it's the only thing I hate about Amazon. Getting a 3DS was a pain in the ass because I couldn't just get one from them.
