Have you played the GOTY?
Have you played the GOTY?
it isnt out yet
its unplayable. fucking stutters every action i make and i have a 1070.
Waiting for all the patches and DLC to be out. Not making the same mistake like I did with Shovel Knight where there's now like three more campaigns since launch.
>indieshit
I have a 1070 as well and it ran smooth as butter. The only slight hiccup occurred at the Colosseum part 3.
Indeed i have.
I'd like the stutters to be fucking fixed though. I had no problem during all the game, and as soon as i went to complete it 100% I came accross some of the dumbest bullshit of freeze you could imagine.
I have a 970 and it's perfect, fix your OS fag.
Yes. P5 was really good. Sucks that we'll have to wait years for P6.
I have.
Runs great on my 660
>Made with Unity
Optimize your fucking game, then I'll play it.
Not that they have the engine and the HD Persona assets, it'll just take 2 years just like between P3 and P4
Yes, I played Gravity Rush 2. Hollow Knight is good too though, happy to see they seem to be up at 100k copies sold now and I hope the Switch release does well.
Best metroidvania ive ever played desu
I hope so, but they've already trademarked a bunch of P5 titles that are probably gonna be spin-offs. Hopefully there's 2 teams (1 working on spin-offs and the other on P6) so it releases more quickly.
it's beautiful, I'm in the city of tears and enjoying it so far
but good god is it poorly optimized
I have a 760 and it ran fine for me, your CPU or something must be bottlenecking you.
Also yeah, Hollow Knight's a solid 8 or 9 out of 10, one of my most enjoyable games to come out in a long time.
Have you played it recently? It's been patched to hell and back.
I've actually enjoyed the delay in content for SK, gives me a reason to go back to it.
Works on my machine :^)
But seriously, it runs quite smoothly, and I have an asus craptop with a 850m. Load times are long though, at least the first time I enter a new area. I guess I can blame the particle effects: the game is way too much loaded with them
Don't read this if you haven't played the game and intend to, exploring the map and finding shit on your own is much more enjoyable if you don't know where you're going.
>le dork souls meme xDD
Ask me how I know you're a piratefag, an extremely stupid one.
It runs fine on my 930m notebook, what are you guys talking about?
Upgrade your toaster.
The game is really fucking restrictive with amount of notches.
Not like it's even that hard, i would appreciate allowing more creative freedom. Overcharm is fucking unusable and is never worth it.
Some people are probably still playing outdated pirated GoG versions. Which is kinda funny since these issues have been patched for months.
So is this the summer thing everyone is talking about?
You can unlock more from the charm shop.
Some combinations are fucking OP as shit.
Honestly I havent played a single second of this game but it looks fedorian as fuck
You know you can buy more slots, right?
>pirating a indie game
How much of a nigger you have to be to do this?
>fedorian
You're not much better than them using words like that.
...
Not out yet.
Doubt this is coming out this year.
Even the GOG version has had said patches. Hell, they exist for piratefags as well.
Literally a non-issue for people with a brain.
yes played Nier automata
>being a weeb unironically
I doubt that a lot too, but I really wouldn't mind if it got delayed to 2018. As long as it lives up to and surpasses Xenoblade then I'm pretty ok.
Pretty much, to be fair the game does ape the souls style a little too hard, but it makes sense considering the setting is within a decaying kingdom.
It has nothing to do with Dark Souls except the shade thing
yeah i've been playing prey
>he's still shilling his game
the absolute madman
Hollow Knight is easily among the top 10 games I've ever played. Surprised it's not more popular, specially here.
Too many jaded cucks. Perfect example right over here
it's your typical Metroidvania. I'm surprised YOU're surprised. It got more attention than it deserves.
I'm playing it right now. I'm not sure if i missed something, or am I supposed to not have a map after the first two. Thanks to my stupidity I went to the city and I can't backtrack right now anyway. I'm fucking retarded.
>setting is a collapsing Kingdom with a melancholy feeling
>NPCs wander and have quests you can help them complete
>story has vauge elements that are only hinted at
I mean, it's definitely souls inspired, but it also has stronger Megaman X and Metroid elements too.
It's easily one of the best Metroidvanias. Like if you're into the genre you should check this game out.
You understand this game is a gem, right? It's not just your typical metroidvania. You would understand if you finished it.
Nah, you're doing alright.
You buy maps from the cartographer bug and then sit at a bench and you will fill out what you've explored so far, otherwise you see nothing.
In almost every area you have to find Cornifer so you can buy a map off him. If you miss him and press on you'll find the map sold at his shop later in Dirtmouth.
>gem
No it isn't. It's just another Metroidvania.
> You would understand if you finished it.
What? Are you implying that the 2deep4u ending makes it a masterpiece?
>top 10 games of the year
MAYBE
>of all time
oh so i see you don't play video games like myself
you'll fit in perfectly here
>you would understand if you finished it
literally the most shill thing you could ever say - no game should require you to finish it to see how good it is
>beat Mantis Lords and go into the Deepnest
>that constant heavy and oppressive atmosphere
>fall into a long hole into the hot spring in the area and have to navigate out of there without a map or a way out
>mfw the entire time
Fuck it I'm posting it.
...Incredible...
>Someone has preferences that don't align with mine, surely he doesn't actually play videogames
>Le shill maymay on a fucking indie game
I wish retards like you would just leave.
>reach the top of a mountain
>no upgrades or any other collectible to be found
>just a big fat larva that talks and do nothing
oh wow, what a waste of time
Yes, it's called Persona 5.
in all seriousness, Hollow Knight is fantastic other than the White Palace, which feels like beating myself with a brick every time I try to push through those stupid saw blades to get the true ending.
I actually did, except for the mushroom ending. I just hate when indie games get overrated, it ruins the community. I still think it deserves to be in the top 10 list, but that`s mostly because this year is quite lacking in contenders so far.
>look at me, im a contrarian. Am i cool yet guys?
Get the Hiveblood charm, it's really hard otherwise. Also remember you can cheat by bouncing on things, depending on where you are in the level it can win you lots of time.
When is this coming to the Switch? I want to play it on Switch.
>no game should require you to finish it to see how good it is
You're right, I saw how good it was when I was actually playing it rather than shitposting about it on Sup Forums.
Why no Rainworld?
Didn't know it was one, haven't played it yet.
Where the FUCK is Order of Ecclesia and why isn't it in God tier?
I recommend it. Although it has some controls issues. Still an excellent game with beautiful style.
I didn't bother including Shit Tier in the list. It's also not a metroidvania.
I'll check it out.
Hollow Knight is better than all of these games with maybe the only exception maybe being sotn, take off your nostalgia goggles
Really good game, not without flaws:
+ Great art and sound design. No 8bit sprites and chiptune indie meme
+ Cheap as shit. 40 hours of content for $15 on release, without counting autist stuff like achievements or permadeath mode
+ Dark Souls with bugs. Largely succeeds as being as immersive with its own identity, more than I can say about Salt and Sanctuary
+ Competent metroidvania and platforming. Exploring is rewarding.
- Too easy. You'll rarely be challenged except for a few parts
- Forgettable bosses for the most part
- Combat is serviceable but a bit too simple
- Dark Souls with bugs. If you think DaS is pretentious garbage or a game being too heavily inspired by it makes you cringe, then this is a con.
You already said that, memelord.
>I didn't play past the first few minutes
Cool shit nigger
>- Combat is serviceable but a bit too simple
I'd disagree with this one, I think it's just where it needs to be.
I can't really find anything I would really want added. Different weapons maybe ?
Waiting for Switch.
>- Combat is serviceable but a bit too simple
This and no fast travel to ancient basin are my 2 main complaints about this game.
The lack of chargeable up and down moves and the fact that charge slash and dash slash felt mostly the same is something I would want changed.
It's pretty fun. My only qualm with it was the stuttering early on in it's release and the shitty map layout. Seriously no thought to making it.
>get the first mask
>the infection block paths on the first area
That shit was unnecessary
>thomas the tank engine is one of the top 10 tv shows of all time
>what you don't agree with me - wow you must be shitposting - how dare you say i can't have different tastes
Deepnest is one of the few areas in the game I felt genuinely unsafe. those little assholes popping out of the ground at random fuck you up if you aren't observant.
I don't know why they did the path blocking. Seeing the first area overrun with the plague was cool but that just seems like a shit move. It's not like they use the blockades to enforce challenge either.
Sutando Powah
>game freezes every time you get hit
Is this a feature or have they fixed it? Because it's what made me stop playing the game completely.
...
>sound
What sound, shit might as well just be sound effects with no music
Are you talking about the slight freezeframe after you get hit? The one accompanied by the sound muffling and screen darkening?
I am fairly sure that that is intentional and to let you orient yourself
...
All of those things have existed before dark souls.
The game's music isn't too strong, but it pretty decently lets you know what events are happening by the sounds that play. Anything you can be clued into visually usually also has a sound to go with it.
Not yet, the art style puts me off
Maybe I'm too autistic to play it then. I felt nothing but bloodboiling rage every time it happened because it looks and feels like the fame is just locking up, especially when it does it when the game THINKS you're about to get hit but you end up dodging it.
To be fair Rain World is not entirely metroidvania. There are no upgrades (well, except that one gloving thing), no locked zones (you can go wherever you want, but some zones are much harder) and so on.
Still excellent game though.
>especially when it does it when the game THINKS you're about to get hit but you end up dodging it.
Wait, does the game actually do this? I can't recall having experienced this personally (though maybe I am just shit at dodging)
I got all the endings and beat the game with like, 91%. The only stuff I had left to do was find like, 3-4 pins and the rest of the worm babies which I'm not going to bother to do. Is there a reward for 100%ing the game?
Work on your reading comprehension retard.
The game was great.
I'm glad I looked up on the internet about alternative endings. If the last fight for me were to be only the Hollow Knight, I would be very disappointed.
It happened to me a couple times. I don't know if it's a bug or somehow an intentional effect or what.
