I don't think you've played or at least emulated any PS2 games recently in that case. Notice how very low-poly the models are and how very low-res the textures are. Then imagine how much worse this actually looks at its native resolution instead of 8x that and with dogshit texture filtering.
Not really, the character textures are way worse there and so are the environmental textures. That's saying something considering how the environmental textures in Automata are abysmally poor already. The image in general also looks like a jumbled mess incapable of resolving any proper detail because aliasing destroys small objects and textures look like smeared ass. That's what PS3 can do in a corridor game, it's not even open-world.
