Given that Blizzard wrote themselves into a corner and ran out of lore threats with Cataclysm, how do you think they'll be able to end WoW in a satisfactory way?

Your character becomes the faction leader.
The end.
After killing all other faction leaders as raid bosses.
>time sheanigans puts back world back to the beginning after w3.
>it was all dream of Ysera, you just woke up.
Nah. Nozdormu gives you a glimpse of what could be at the end of WC3 - WoW and you have to play the campaign in VI to fix it.
Right before the trial Sargeras goes back to the past in an alternate reality to create a new burning legion out of quilboars. Once he is defeated in the alternate world his quilboar apprentice quil'thuzad ressurrects an undead murloc scourge in yet another alternate reality to fight in both the previous alternate reality and the actual reality.
Everything kind of comes full circle, and we find ourselves back with how things were with Vanilla, but things are different, but the same.
>ran out of lore threats with Cataclysm
wod and legion showed us they have no problem bringing dead characters back to life whenever they feel like it.
They release legacy servers
>ending the biggest cash cow of the last decade
it's still earning them way too much for them
any way, the void lords are obviously the final endgame
Go full on Bloodborne with the Void Lords being eldritch monsters and shit.
>ran out of lore threats
They'll just keep pulling things out of their ass like they always have
And frankly if they had put any forethought into anything we would've gone to Northrend before Outland in the first place.
>you have to play the campaign in VI to fix it
what did he mean by this
>become faction leader
>next expansion comes out
>faction leader please go out and kill 10 boars
fuck being faction leader
>oh, migthy paladin, wielder of the ashbringer, please bring me 20 murloc eyes
>your character starts his own faction and must subdue all the other NPC faction leaders to unite the civilized races to use them to create a spirit bomb large enough to destroy SargNerIllidan, who is an unhomy abomination of the genes of Sargeras, Nerzhul and Illidan created by Gul'dan of the future who used time travel to gather genes from each when they were at their weakest and used his creation to take over the current time-verse.
>ran out of lore threats with Cataclysm
???
Why is every OP so stupid?
wow rly maeks u tink
WoW will die out before XI, Everquest, and Runescape?
Given that your character is already canonically the #1 most powerful super special bestest in the world Paladin/Druid/Hunter/Warlock/whatever something that retarded probably isn't far off.
I thought XI was already shutting down soon or something?
Everquest is fucking eternal and Runescape will probably exist as long as those official nostalgia servers stay up.
Anduin officiates the marriage of Thrall and Jaina.
That second in command undead dude betrays Sylvanas and banishes her to the twisting nether. Meanwhile his Forsaken assassins put 100 plague infected daggers into Saurfang's flesh.
Vol'jin's spirit appears to Thrall in a dream to warn him that N'zoth is on the rise.
Muradin discovers that Moira was behind turning Magni into a pillar of stones. The second War of the Three Hammers begins.
Tauren envoys to Darnassus attempt to broker peace between the Horde and Alliance as chaos and civil war erupt throughout the land.
Sensing an opportunity, Gallywix sets himself up as warchief of the Horde.
Genn and Sylvanas are forced to work together for the common good.
They're outside Stormwind now instead.
>This is what blizzcucks actually believe
Nope, games dead lad.
Jaina becomes Garrosh 2.0 in the next expansion and is corrupted by N'Zoth (is not the final boss of the expansion but the final boss of a raid tier).
Anduin fights Sylvanas at the end of Legion/beginning of new expansion, avenges his father's death and truly establishes himself as the High King of the Alliance.
Baine Bloodhoof is picked as the new warchief and Nathanos Blightcaller becomes the faction leader of the Forsaken.
As someone who comes from actually dead MMO's, this is pretty lively for a dead game.
kill all characters and start from vanilla
It's true, IF used to be the spot to hang around in the old days and since transmog happened it's SW now
Final expansion should be the Horde and Alliance finally coming together to beat Sargeras. Cross-faction languages and cross-faction raids. PvP will be 'going back in time' to experience what it was like when Horde and Alliance were at war.
That seems to be what they're doing. Anduin is king of Stormwind, like in Vanilla. Illidan and the Lich King exist, like in Vanilla, Vol'Jin isn't present, like in vanilla. All that shit.
Everything is coming full circle.
They literally have the "Well we need to go into another dimension!" plot hole. How do you think Marvel and DC stayed in business this long? They can literally do anything they want. That's what happen when the biggest threat to Azeroth is addressed in the second expansion.
WoW Lore is not about being good, it's literally just a simple excuse for people to kill monsters.
This is not The Secret World brah.
Nah, I expect a full Old Gods expansion, then Dreamlands, then Void Lords.
Everquest has 22 expansions.
22.
WoW is only at 6.
It's unlikely wow will ever die if they stop pumping out expansions and go F2P.
I can't see how their current model will sustain itself for much longer though.
Their current model still prints money regardless of popularity. Expansions consistently sell millions of copies.
Unfortunately going F2P would kill the game more than people consider it to already be. Besides, not even XI has gone F2P. There's no chance in hell WoW is going F2P anytime soon. If it does you can say goodbye to content updates and hello to store focused microtransaction content.
No people around here no sir
Well the current model is F2P for people who play the game. If you get enough money you have people who pay money, buy you a sub and you pay them in Gold.
F2P players still have to pay a sub, but it's some rich guy who is pretty much a Gold buyer who does it.
That's pretty much the best system, since it serves as a gold sink as a bonus. WoW's dev team has been pretty hard on looking for gold sinks since they removed things like class trainers and flying skill upgrades for zones.
That's goldshire. People go there to chill and PVP duel instead of staying in Stormwind.
Most of the rest of the world is barren because from 14-90, there is literally no reason to not to do instances.
develop a time machine or wormhole to 2004 - once reaches 2008 it loops back to 2004 and so on.
I'm fairly sure this can be done.
The in-game currency is completely worthless, and the economy is completely broken.
How do you people still think this system is going to be sustainable?
Wow is crumbling on its own weight, it's a miracle this game is still up.
It's not a gold sink though. A player give gold to another player for Subs. A player is a goldseller, and the other pay him 16$ in subs for the gold.
...
>numbers are too big to count! nerf them!!
fucking waste of developent time
>2013
Your character gets bonked on the head, wakes up in his corresponding starting area in vanilla.
Turns out everything past TBC was just a fever dream and never happened.
I don't really understand it, but that's what I initially thought. There's not really a purpose for gold these days anyhow, only for cosmetics and mounts and stuff.
People bitch all the time about how high the numbers have gotten for everything. It's why they did that stat squish back for WoD. But the number inflations have gotten ridiculous and Blizzard doesn't seem to have a good solution to it ever.
I think they should leave the level cap at 110 and look back at that path of the titans thing going forward with character building instead. Like that Paragon level thing for Diablo 3 characters. Maybe design it like the current Artifact talent system or something.
Because we're pretty close to reaching numbers in the millions, and that's just going to make balance and calculations nearly impossible for people.
The point is that there are many MMO with low population that are still alive since the 2000's
Up and running barely qualifies as "alive", but I guess you only think in absolutes, right?
>irony the post
Just use AAs and be done with it.
wow reread that my man
A player pay a premium for a WoW Token. WoW token can then be sold on the Auction house for a price. Then a player can buy a WoW token from the Auction House and use it as a month of Subcription.
A WoW token is about 20$ where a WoW sub is 14$.Blizzard actually make more money with WoW tokens and letting people buy gold than with Subs alone.
The average WoW Token is around 99 000 Gold right now on US servers.
>RO not even included
bullspit
>all these faggots crying WoW is dead
>meanwhile Broken Isles Dalaran is crawling with people, order halls are usually bustling too
>actually see people out in the world doing WQs
>easy as shit to find a group for whatever kind of content you want to do
It's not the same game it was 5 years ago, which was a different game than it was 5 years before that. It's still pretty fun though.
high-school dropouts much?
if blizzard does one thing right its getting money from retards
they probably dont even care that they lost more than half of all their subs since blizzdrones just buy gold and boosts to make up for it
RO was never that popular. He only took the most popular MMO's and MMOs he had access to the numbers.
Most people criticizing WoW and wishing for some kind of dream MMO have quit playing WoW or the genre altogether years ago user.
You're on Sup Forums. Nobody actually plays games here.
naw man
There's still the Void Lords after the Burning Legion. There's also the question what the fuck is going to happen when baby titan Azeroth wakes up.
>30 people in your screen at the same time
>bursting with people
>mfw
Why are wow drones always the same? Why is it so important for you to prove your game is still alive and well? Insecurity much?
>there is literally no reason to not to do instances.
you level faster from questing from 60+ onwards
World of Warcraft: Apocalyps
World literally ends, Chromie goes back to warn the past
push the reset button
>avenges his father's death
There's nothing to avenge.
Phasing has made it so fewer people appear on-screen while also making more appeal appear on-screen in other areas from different servers. It's weird and inconsistent but it's one of the reasons there are hundreds of people around in one place. Orgrimmar still has tons of people, but it has the phasing thing that brings people from other servers while also limiting how many are on-screen at once or something.
Cataclysm was fucking stupid.
Why is it so important for you to shit on a game you don't even play? Insecurity much?
>applying mental gymnastics to make sure his holy cow can't be criticized
It's like talking to a religious fanatic.
No wonder people look down on your kind.
activision-blizzard's latest financial report has revealed that legion has done better than WoD, so wow is officially stabilised atm
anyone with half a brain can tell that wow will never get back to it's glorydays
the only one desperate to prove a made up point here (that the largest MMO of all time is dead) is you
>you level faster from questing from 60+ onwards
Not really.
Dungeons are faster all the way until Pandaria.
Especially in the fucking Northrend, that place drags forever.
Your reaction is priceless. Also, I love to see you struggle thinking of ways defend a dead game.
What's your excuse?
>activision-blizzard's latest financial report has revealed that legion has done better than WoD
Of course it did.
You people are hilarious, and you don't even notice. It's like laughing at a fat person who fell and can't get up.
My excuse for what? Enjoying a video game? LMFAO sorry we're not all jaded douchebags like you.
You ask for evidence but bring none of your own and act like you won an arguement because you don't have to back up your own statement. WoW is a shell of it's former self but you're an argumentative faggot bringing nothing interesting to the thread. I mean if you want, I can hop on a trial account character and run to a major city and take a screenshot, but you're only going to deflect it with a statement that vanilla had more people and provide an out-of-context screenshot from google.
So keep on shitposting I guess.
Universe reboot, server shutdown, World of Warcraft 2 announced.
>dead game
>only games with more players are Minecraft and league
I don't get it
Will never happen. They can release WoW 2 without WoW shutting down.
>successful companies blatantly lie to shareholders
you realise you accomplish nothing by pretending to be retarded on an imageboard right?
the emotional response you've elicited from me is "wow this guy is an idiot"
>being this ass-blasted
Here, brother, take my hammer. You're the leader of your faction now, keep killing dragons, and thanks for your shekels. Don't forget WoW is the greatest game of all time, and everything is fine, your game is still amazing.
>successful companies NEVER lie
>being this mad over a dead game
Lying to shareholders can get you sued, you know that right?
i dont give a damn about wow but the shitposting in these threads is always gold
More players obviously means it's good. So CS:GO, LoL, Hearthstone and Playerunkown's Battleground are clearly better than WoW.
Why do people use population as a metric for whether a game is good or not? WoW at it's peak of 12 million players was during WotLK, which was arguably when the game started going to shit. People talk high about the expansion but leave out things like the TotC patch and the underwhelming ICC raid we were stuck with for almost a year, the first of many content droughts to come.
Also, WoW was everywhere in pop-culture. It was a complete meme game at that point the same way Minecraft is/was.
>not a shill
>Being this dedicated to shitposting in a WoW thread
I've noticed Blizzard related threads attract the most vindictive Autists. I wonder if the correlation has anything to do with the fact that it's a PC gaming majority company like Valve, who also attracts vindictive Autists.

>They release legacy servers
The final nail in the coffin; once they do this, you know for sure that WoW is really about to die.
warcraft is a game that people played for YEARS
then they changed stuff about the game and they quit and became really really bitter that they wasted so much time with the game
hes probably just filling the gap of playing wow with shitposting wow now
well I mean my rogue is already 10 years old and is a veteran of every war the world has seen, it's not exactly a stretch.
new characters, though. yeah.
I'll keep biting.
Me and my guildies will enjoy killing more dragons for a while still.
Also
>paying for WoW
lol try harder faggot, you don't need to pay to play anymore.
We have the legion to kill, then the old gods, then the void lords. They can introduce a time walking expansion if they need. We still have the lich king around.
You do realize they will keep shitposting you forever right? All they have to do is say "dead game" and you respond.
WoW is the most popular MMO still today. No MMO has as many players. It's the opposite of Dead.
nobody implied wow was a good game, just that it's very obviously not dead
please read posts before you respond to them
You do realize you don't have to justify yourself to me, right?
Keep paying for a dead game, mate. I'm not asking you to stop, it's your money you're setting on fire.
>avenges his father's death
uh, Gul'dan got vaporized by Illidan in NH so there goes any 'avenge' ideals unless you are still blaming 'unstable dead yet still hot' Sylvannas to be the reason why Varian became fel-mist.
I don't get how people haven't just moved on. There's all kinds of MMO's that either changed for the worst or died and they all don't make crybaby threads like WoWfags do.
All it tells me is that WoW had the youngest audience and the people crying about it are typical Millennials who cry about everything not being as good as when they were kids.
>dead genre
>dead game
It really makes you think.
But I'm not paying money to play WoW...?
>mop happened
>they literally can make up any expansion they want
>game still prints money
were looking at years if not centuries of wow
but i guess if they will ever end it they would go out with some ridicilous world event
like putting a boss in a pvp area with so much health that it takes days to kill it
and when it dies the servers go offline with it
p-please stop... wow is still g-good.
