Do you still play Pokemon Go Sup Forums?
The Simpsons just did a parody of it btw
Do you still play Pokemon Go Sup Forums?
The Simpsons just did a parody of it btw
>so old and normie that even nu-simpsons did a parody
Is beyond dead now.
>The Simpsons tries to refer to something popular and ends up looking out of touch
Color me surprised.
The Simpsons is more irrelevant today than Pokemon Go is
0:32
No. I didn't have a smartphone when it came out, and had no interest in it when I got one.
Jesus Christ, just kill it already.
>singing is fucking horrid
>all those likes
Would The Simpsons really still make enough money for Groening to continue?
that fucking sucks man
Do you still watch Simpsons Sup Forums?
No, it hasn't been good since Season 8
Wow they really missed the boat on this one.
Game has been dead for months.
I recently re-watched the first ten seasons recently.
Began the 11th, but the drop in quality was too obvious.
I like how every joke in the Simpsons now is just pop culture references. Which isn't to say pop culture references didn't exist in the old Simpsons episodes, but they didn't drive the entire plot.
>tfw it takes south park a week but it takes the simpsons 3 quarters of a year
why am i surprised
I don't even have any friends who have watched it within the last 10 years
I just saw this. They tried being funny, by refrencing a game barely anyone plays anymore, and doing a song parody almost 20 years too late. Sometimes, this show takes strides to outdo how awful it now is.
Finally, someone who recognises that seasons 9 and 10 were shit as well.
Groening hasn't been involved with the series since the first three seasons. He just collects residuals.
In one episode, they're sitting around watching Itchy and Scratchy when someone comments that the quality of the show has gone downhill and it should be taken off the air. Bart says, "If I had a cartoon, I'd drive that sucker into the ground." I've always felt that line epitomized what the Simpsons is.
The simpsons always misses the boat with its 'current humor' jokes. It takes too long to animate. South Park is the only cartoon that can pull it off because they can cobble together an entire episode in an afternoon.
>Be little kid
>Remember reading an article in some magazine that said that The Simpons was supossed to end around 2010 or so
>Think "wow that sucks, I don't want it to ever end"
>Mfw current simpsons
Yet South Park still looks way better than nusimpsons.
Reminder that The Simpsons died with The Principal and the Pauper.
Actually, they were discussing the Cosby show.
youtube.com
Here, for reference. I'm actually shocked at how well they stuck to this.
Simpsons is tolerable until 17.
I wish it were still popular. It actually got me out of the house for a little. Maybe when it's summer again will the spark reignite?
THEY'LL NEVER STOP THE SIMPSONS
HAVE NO FEARS
WE'VE GOT STORIES FOR YEARS
Woah, is that a motherfucking Mononoke reference?
Fuck the simpsons
obligatory "Stop, stop, he's already dead!"
Cringier than the entirety of regular show
that was physically painful to watch
Normies still watch it due to social pressure.
It's still considered "in".
They're unable to tell it's shit, because they could never tell why Simpsons was good.
I have seen only one episode of nu-simpsons and it was an episode about girl hackers being better than all the silly boys and it didn't have a single drop of irony or self awarness.
they need several months from an episode idea till air date. Topical humor falls flat.
Will they air a episode in a few months referencing garfield pipe strip?
I remember Aqua Teen Hunger Force was supposed to end a long time ago too. But it kept coming back.
It didn't get as bad as the Simpsons but I'm kind of glad it's over now. Still, that was a big part of my adolescence and I'm kind of sad that it's over.
This was a cry for help doesn't it?
Go home hacker girl
I think that's the underlying reason why it just doesn't work any more. Simpsons was counterculture. It was a parody of all the normal, sterile sitcoms that were out at the time. Now Simpsons IS the norm. It took the place of the thing it was supposed to satirize.
what really needs to die is teen titans go.
Sure simpsons is unfunny but it didnt destroy the programm of a channel
I never did. Cartoon sitcoms are the lowest of lows.
South Park actually takes a week to complete, but the storyboard of an episode takes an afternoon, yes.
Fuck that episode, I would quite literally rather have the flu than watch that shit again. It's easily tied as one of the worst episodes alongside lisa goes gaga.
The Simpsons used to be so far ahead of the game and spot on with all their satire. Now it struggles just stay mildly relevant almost a year out from whatever it is their satirizing. But I guess being on the air for almost 30 years and constantly shuffling writers in and out and allocating all the budget to the voice actors can do that to a series.
Not anymore, but there's a clear difference between the writing in the starting seasons and what we got now. I watched old episodes that I caught jokes in that I didn't know about.
I'm looking for the money, Sonny. You don't need to worry.
I like to pretend that the episode with Frank Grimes is the series finale, with the show commenting on just how removed it's become from plausibility over the years and going out making a joke of themselves.
Even the last 3 seasons of South park which have been shit beyond redemption are far better than anything Simpsons has done on the past 20 years
there's no killing and maiming in pokemon go
Remember when every news program did a story about how Pokemon Go had permanently changed society forever. Normies are so dumb. It was dead in a month or two.
>constantly shuffling writers in and out
Ohh, so that's why is still on air
Even then, they can take a near finished product the day before its broadcast and still edit it to produce something different in under a day. That's what Parker and Stone did for season 20 "Oh, Jeez!" when they thought Clinton was going to win the election Tuesday night but it turned out Trump won and their deadline was Wednesday.
Where have I seen this before?
Simpsons went to shit when Lisa became the main character and Homer became the "Stupid Fat American" trope.
I blame Seth's influence.
Teen Titans Go is actually funny and well-written.
Cartoon Network is shit because every other show on it is trash.
Classic Simpsons satire is STILL relevant today because it was so broad.
How fucking timeless can you be when you make a parody of "Steve Mobs" from "Mapple"
>Teen Titans Go is actually funny and well-written.
So another episode of Lisa was right everyone was wrong?
Oh yeah
holy shit, I've been rewatching recently and all of the jokes in season 9 are as bad as today's standards
it started in season 8 with things like that immigration episode and every Republican being an evil super villain, which was a joke repeated about 10 times throughout different episodes in the season, which is forgivable but a little preachy, along with the episode Homer's Phobia too
the saving grace is that it's got some of the best episodes in the entire series on it's belt
...
its trash humor
I bet you think Deadpool is extremly funny and those parody movies are hillarious
Has there been an instance were westerners have been able to parody japan or anime without being cringey as fuck?
It's similar to old Family Guy. It's well written but any sense of humor is ruined by them airing the show 24/7 and driving it into the ground
Nothing comes to mind.
I feel as if Homerpalooza is the first episode that's PAINFULLY "Oh look, it's me! Celebrity!" Not to mention, everything about the episode besides that ages the episode.
Exactly, Simpsons used to be about universal humor. Now they got too dependent on having famous people making guest appearances and local comedy that people outside of the US won't really be in.
What they have done to Bart and Homer should be punishable by death
South Park one was pretty decent.
Futurama had some good jabs at obvious anime issues but was still a really shit (1/3rd of a) episode.
South park with chinpokomon or the good times with weapons episode
Jesus fucking Christ I hate everyone
I thought it was gonna be Manfred Mann when it started
DOP DOP DOP DOP DOP DOP DOP DOP DOP
I saw the one where they moved to Boston briefly. It was funny.
even Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons got a qt Japanese wife, what's your excuse?
Yep. So was Problem Solverz but I bet you threw a shitfit about that too.
Compare it to no jokes Steven Universe, cringeworthy Regular Show, painfully bad We Bare Bears. Easily the best written show.
I don't like capeshit.
> 600 million subs
> The kind of face that got beat up in grade school all the itme
What a time to be alive
old seasons are pretty good. I binged to about season 10 or 11 and there was a gigantic drop in quality
>
I'm a worthless individual with no redeeming qualities or friends
That's kind of odd. I really thought the whole episode was complete satire. I mean, it ends with Lisa thinking the whole movement was stupid and a waste of time, right? Been awhile since I've seen the episode so forgive my ignorance.
Reminder that Simpsons jumped the shark the moment Andy Dick decided to drug up Phil Hartmanns wife, causing her to blow Phil's brains to bits with a shotgun.
One day Miku Abeno will be my wife.
Not really, though sometimes I get nostalgic and watch clips from old episodes. Its amazing how relevant the old episodes still are, or at least the gags I suppose.
>watching cartoons from fake news network
POL GET OUT
Is that supposed to be helmetless Robocop on the left?
I have the first 8 or so seasons on DVD to remind me of the good times before the darkness came...before the humor vanished.
he is a fictional character. Out of the cancer of having to many episodes the writers write episodes focusing on the tiniest sid characters
I miss the joke or what?
My life isn't controlled by a team of writers DESPERATE for any sort of story.
Wish people would understand that. Good satire or good commentary is going to be timeless, not periodic. Old simpsons did certainly have some contemporary references but they weren't the lynchpin of the humor or storytelling.
That we are the world celebrities singing together for the boy stuck in the well wasn't the centerpiece of the episode where bart fell down the well.
Gumballs mom is pretty damn fine. Someone post the flash/video/webm.
Japanese women don't like black men
wow that is terrible.
pretty sure its horrid on purpose
Everyone says how the Simpson died after season 9 but for me it was still enjoyable,
then season 23 happened, that season was so shit, so painful unfunny that it killed the simpson forever for me, the Simpson after season 23 are on the same level as family guy
I don't think i'm losing much anyway when plot involve stupid shit like crossovers
I'd like to get the older seasons on DVD but they're too fucking expensive. I'm not paying $40 for a TV show that aired in the early 90s.
