What are you playing?
What are you emulating?
Picross, I mean it's Picross; what do I say, probably gonna pick up Blaster Master Zero too.
>What are you emulating?
Playing tekken 5 on my vita
Trying to get good at Puyo Puyo
Pokemon Moon
Breeding for shiny pkmn for a few friends of mine.
Also emulating Persona 4 on my pc
Been playing some Mario Maker 3DS before bed occasionally.
Picked this up again for whatever reason the other night, it's still just as fun as it was twelve (Holy fuck) years ago
Haven't played a Pokemon game since red.
What is a shiny Pokemon
Playing Zelda BOTW but that's mostly in TV mode
Replaying Ratchet & Clank for the billionth time on my Vita. Forever wishing for a handheld PS2/Gamecube emulator.
Same. Water levels are hard to make because they usually suck so hard.
Playing Link's Awakening on my 3DS and Donkey Kong Country 3 on my PSP
Alternate colours, any pokemon has a random chance of being a shiny (except for some legendaries in some of the games). It's like 1 in 8192 or something, it was higher pre gen six I believe.
There's a breeding trick to get them more often by breeding pokemon from different real life regions
Just bought my 2DS (poorfag) last week. Been playing FE: Awakening and enjoying a lot.
I would remove that screen protector in anger when you can clearly see some bubbles
Would say to pick up the games again but honestly they're declining in quality. The last one was just a over hyped mess. The Ds games are pretty solid.
Decided to finish AA: Justice For All.
It feels like there's a lot more bullshit guessing involved in this one.
Gpd for the win
How is the build quality on that?
mah nigga. fucking love emulation on my XD.
thinking about picking up the win too when I can afford it.
I want CFW on a 3ds/2ds, should I wait for a sale? People are saying 3ds/2ds prices will go down when the New 2DS comes out. Or should I just buy a 2ds.
should I buy the new 2ds
It's like a 3DS XL but triple the price. Not powerful enough to run PCSX2 or Dolphin so you may as stick with a Vita or 3DS.
Pretty sure the New 2ds will never be hackable if it releases on current firmware, and it's pretty much certain to. The bigger question is if New 3ds/old2ds prices will go down in a month or two.
Playing Bravelt Default, Muramasa too
It runs ps2 emulator?
I've been wanting to replay fire emblem sacred stones and I've had juices for a link to the past lately.
It's so fucking ugly though god damn
>Not powerful enough to run PCSX2
I thought user had a GPD Win. He's got the Android GPD. Even if it did have the power to emulate PS2 there isn't a PS2 emulator for the Android so he's doubly fucked.
Handheld gaming is shit, I'm glad smartphones are destroying it
>PSP Go.
This is bait but i'm still angry
You think we wont get any new hacks for 11.4?
So what's the point?
What's wrong with the best version of the psp?
the only good consoles in the past two generations have been handheld consoles
I picked this up for the first time a week ago and it's quickly become one of my favorite games.
Other than that I've been replaying kid icarus uprising. My first playthrough I used orbitars and palms primarily, but this time around the artillery claws have been my best friend.
SMT IV. Grinding incense to make my girl Alice uber
>best version of the psp.
nothing wrong with the 2ds. It's the most comfy in my opinion, and I own every iteration of the 3ds. I wish the n2ds xl wasn't a clamshell, but a wider version of the og 2ds.
>16gigs extra of storage
>better battery life
>better screen
>less parts that might break
>weighs less
>smaller
>more portable design
>Dualshock 3 support
>Better video out support
The only thing it might be inferior in is d-pad placement.
I want a 2ds but I'm paralyzed from buying one because I fear the price might drop when the NEW™2ds release. Also I've read the 2ds has more framedrops.
I just finished Project X Zone 2.
2ds is the same thing as a regular 3ds or 3dsxl performance wise. you'll get frame drops in some newer title's but anything pre-n3ds runs no differently on any system. Right now you can get a brand new 2ds, with mario kart for $80 new. I don't see nintendo going any lower. resell price for a 2ds is like under $60. In my opinion, the 2ds is the way to go if buying used. less moving parts=less likely to break. I'm paranoid of any used nintendo device with a hinge.
is that a projector on the right?
specs plz
The hebrew channel? Is this some sort of a joke I don't get?
I just don't like how the 2ds looks and the new 2ds looks soo sexy for only 50-70 bucks more.
Never mind, just realized it said homebrew
Is it worth it to get a Vita, bros? The shop across town has them for fairly cheap and I'd like to, at the very least, play through Persona 4.
and Dancing All Night.
can you suck any more dick at applying screen protectors
It's hideous. It's not ergonomic. The power adapter emits static and gets hot enough to cook eggs (which is typical of this sort of cheap chink shit). I read all the praise and bought one from a recommended site and had the worse case of buyer's remorse. Worse than when I bought a Vita to play Ninja Gaiden (Sigma.... barf.. and 30fps with dips) and Ultimate MvsC. At least the Vita had some utility to it. This GPD can't play anything except very old games. People are lying when they say it can play PS360 ports with lower settings. I mean yeah they run... but they're not playable.
A 2ds is going to be a lot tougher and last a lot longer by default, and for 50-70 bucks you could buy multiple games or even another 2ds. I personally use my 2ds anytime I am traveling, and my N3DS XL when I am at home. I do not trust any hinged device made by Nintendo, period.
I own 2 vitas, I have to say it's only worth it if you are going to pirate and it's only worth pirating on the vitatv. So unless you are ok with no portability it's not really worth it for 2 games.
Why vita tv? because you don't need to buy the crazy expensive memory cards and the vita tv is cheap. With the vita tv you can use any old usb flash drive as a memory card instead of paying $120+ for 64 gigs.
Vita 1k is AMAZING for emulation, the OLED is beautiful just don't expect to hold a lot of vita games if you don't want to fork out money for a memory card.
If you intend to buy everything then yes the vita is worth it, I would say still keep yourself on 3.60 for emulation.
And I want to emphasize very old games. Even Morrowind from 2002 at the GPD's native 720p chugs along until you scale back the draw distance and fog up the screen. All the guides for playing PS360 games involve lowering the rendering resolution to 3DS levels and even then they aren't playable unless you consider 15fps playable
You make irrefutable points, but man the 2ds is an ugly door stop. Also I would never play a 2ds in public. I'm embarrassed as it is to play even phone games in public. I know no one is judging but I feel eyes on me, can't help being self conscious because I'm on the older side and it makes me feel like a man child.
Enjoy the last good FE game.
Also my favorite 3ds game.
>tfw use to have a psp,ds,sp,and a 3ds xl but sold them
I was young and dumb, but the 3ds I sold to buy ps4 games.
>all the cancerous shitters that tried to shit all over vita when switch was announced
>PSN still infinitely better ecosystem
>vita still getting more new games than switch
yeah, why the fuck would i pay monthly fee to fucking nintendo for their garbage ecosystem, when PSN gives me free games for all my psn platforms
After finishing Trails in the Sky The 3rd I decided to pirate Zero no Kiseki. I've been practicing moonrunes for a while now, so outside of these 5 kanji words that are super technical, I've been handling it fine.
...I was going to play the Evo version but apparently my installation is a little fucked. Whoops! I'll just setup Adrenaline and swap between playing it on Vita and PPSSPP.
do they make new games that aren't anime art style?
Playing Persona 3 Portable, just realized you could save in Floor 1 of Taurus and in the dorm, I thought you could only save at school. You have no idea how I feel.
People always shit on the vita, get used to it or go cry in vitagen. This is coming from a hardcore vita lover.
Playing Shin Megami Tensei IV right now. Played it before and dropped it because i got lost and confused way too often. Playing it again now without touching any other games and it's much better. There's still definitely some bullshit that i have to look up, but overall it's fine as long as you can give the game your attention. Hard as fuck though; I put down the game to type this comment as i entered a random encounter with full health all around. I glanced down just now and all my demons are dead, and I have 6 HP.
2DS is ok, but it's honestly not portable at all, and despite what people say, I find it significantly less comfortable to use. Find a used New 3DS on eBay or Kijiji and just go for that, it won't be that much more expensive, and you'll really be able to take advantage of that extra power with CFW. Plus Xenoblade 3D is one of the best games on the system, and it's a N3DS exclusive.
Playing some Mario Kart.
Sir this is a handheld thread, please remove this post about a home console. Just because you have handhelds in the background does not mean you are welcomed.
>Vita 1k is AMAZING for emulation, the OLED is beautiful
WAS beautiful. My Vita was much brighter and more colorful five years ago. Now the color temp has shifted to very warm; originally it was neutral and cool. It's noticeably less bright. I've barely used it since I bought it new in 2012, this is just normal deterioration of the organic components in OLED.
Apparently new OLED TV displays are improved in this regard but the Vita is old and the type of OLED is uses loses brightness and the color blue over time even if you don't use it. Every time people bring up the original Vita's OLED screen as if it is objectively better than IPS or some other tech I roll my eyes. Shit was true five years ago but those screens have literally rotted and aged like milk
God i hate windows 10
That is a fair point. I'm also interested in the remote play that Vita offers. Does that work well, at all?
Owned my vita since launch and it has not happened to me. Sorry man some people get the bad ones. To be fair I probably have only clocked 400 hours on my vita.
bought a psp go a couple weeks ago. I already completed like 10 psx game and some more psp ones.
Best part is I can use it everywhere and no one notices because it fucking looks like an smartphone and i dont have to feel like a weeaboo playing handhelds outside
A brand spanking new N2DS XL will still look just as wierd to someone who doesn't know what either are. Look I agree, you shouldn't play a portable console anywhere outside of your social circle of friends or traveling. Most of my outside of home usage is during travel. I fly a lot, which means not being able to use any online connected devices (because fuck airplane wifi btw) anything to make a long travel better is ok in the public eye. I would be wierded out if the person next to me just sat still and stared forward like a zombie, not doing anything. The reason I use the 2ds is because it's cheap, if I were to lose it or it get stolen, I wouldn't really sweat it as much. If I lost my N3DS XL on the other hand, I would be fucking pissed. Basically, if you could only have one to use for everything, I would definitely pick the 2ds. I highly recommend getting an xl model, but never for travel. Also, just fuck hinged anything. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I shudder at the thought of any of my 3ds hinges coming loose.
Do you want exclusive games? Then don't get a Vita. Do you want a fantastic handheld console? Then get one. There's barely any exclusive Vita games, and if that's all you want then don't bother. But between PS1, PSP, Vita games, and HD ports, there's tons of stuff worth playing. I love mine because I love handheld consoles. If you're a handheld enthusiast, you'll love it
the colors and blacks look like shit on new vitas i have both models of the vita, you're just a cuck crying because you cant play the original
In home? Yes, I've played blood borne on my vita for a challenge. Over the internet it really depends on your internet speed, upload speed is king is you don't have 3Mbs up, don't bother doing anything outside your home.
Perfect for turn based games and visual novels.
The Go is the best psp, people only hate it because it got shat on so bad when it first came out. Remember it was digital only in a time when that really wasn't a thing even for pc. So a lot of people with huge UMD collections were really burned and cried on the internet. Thankfully I was smart enough to realize digital was king and all my games transferred over to the psvita when it came out.
I only played my 3DS when I was on deployment.
I spent this one on Bravely Second.
Loved it.
>you shouldn't play a portable console anywhere outside of your social circle of friends or traveling
What? Why not? Most people honestly do not care.
Well I don't even think is clocked 100 hours on mine. Resolution aside, the screen was something special when I got it. Now it's not as bright and is much warmer. Compared to my New 3DS XL it looks better. Compared to my old ipad 2, which I got around the same time, it looks worse. And the reverse was originally true.
No offense, but I don't believe I just got a bad one. Yours has the exact same problem. You just don't realize it. All of them do because they all use the same OLED screen technology and the O stands for organic. Organic things decompose. It's literally rotting just sitting there whether you use it or not. It's still viewable but it's not some amazing screen that puts others outside of its class to shame anymore and not because of some better screen tech but because it is decomposing
Dude I know I can rationalize that no one cares that I am playing games. I just feel like people are watching me. If I could control how I felt I would not have half the problems I have in my life.
Went back and replayed Twewy, and now I'm getting all the rare pin sets from ultimate difficulty.
What a fun and interesting game that was. It wasn't perfect, but nothing ever is.
I still need to get the last few pins to 100% it myself, pretty sure it was just the level 20 pins I have left.
It's bloody close to perfect
there isn't anything wrong with it, but it is non conforming. You will get a lot of attention. If you want to slip by unnoticed, then it's not for you.
>No offense, but I don't believe I just got a bad one. Yours has the exact same problem. You just don't realize it
You probably got a defective screen and never noticed it. My colors still looks wonderful and are perfect for sprite based games.
guys... I fucked up and updated my 3DS.. is there no way I can go back?
How did you feel when using Bravely Second at THAT point?
I have an OLED original, retard. I don't have a later model to compare it to. Blacks look good on mine but colors are now too warm and brightness has reduced like I said earlier.
OLES rots. This is an objective fact. It's the main problem going against the tech. It rots, it decomposes. Whether you use it or not. And considering that a device the same age with an IPS screen looks much better than it now despite looking worse five years ago, I have a feeling that blacks aside the newer Vitas will look better because all original Vitas have a screen that rots and decomposes especially losing brightness and the color blue. Fuck you and die. I never used this thing much anyways because it's an awful console. I played more PSP games on it to be honest and I have a PSPgo (which definitely has a nicer screen at this point)
Of course, turn in your 3ds and use the funds to buy a new one.
I play a 3DS or Vita on the bus to and from college and work, and I most definitely do not get a lot of attention. The vast majority of the time people just ignore me because they're on their phones. Occasionally people glance over for a second when I pull it out of my bag, but even that's rare. The only people I catch actively looking at me are obvious gamers who are trying to see what I'm playing, but again, pretty rare. I think you may be a bit too self conscious, most people are pretty uninterested in what you do while you travel unless it's loud and obnoxious.
Not him, but isn't it digital only?
If you came here just to shit post you can shit post in vitagen and get more (you)s.
If you hate OLED why would you buy and handheld with an OLED screen when you can get a 2k or a vita tv? The reality is you just want to complain and this isn't a vita crying thread. Talk about games or fuck off.
Here's my junk, I guess.
The Glacier GBA is a normal one. The purple one is backlight modded. Thinking about getting a New 2DS just because it looks nice.
just busted out my PSP again last week
currently playing Circle of the Moon and R-Type in public.
>Slayers
Mah Man, I'll forgive you for having the ugly GBA.
Vita, working on (some) of my backlog:
>tfw 8gb card
>tfw persona 4 on backlog
>tfw SotN on backlog
>tfw Medievil i & ii on backlog
>tfw silent bomber on backlog
>tfw clock tower 1 & 2 on backlog
>tfw koudelka on backlog
>tfw fear effect 1 & 2 on backlog
>tfw parasite eve 1 & 2 on backlog
>tfw nightmare creatures 1 & 2 on backlog
Pls send help
>>tfw SotN on backlog
This is the exact opposite of a problem
W-which one is ugly?
>White psp
FUCK I WANT IT! I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE!!!!!
You know which
i mean in terms of time man, i also just bought horizon and nier, plus the saboteur on ps3, and 6 gorillion ps2 games on the emulator.
I dont have enough time
btw does it count if i get the bad ending or do i have to do the reverse castle?
So recently I got into DS games, ShinMegami games to be exact. I am playing them in Japanese on an emulator and the text is horrible, almost unreadable. Is it like that on the original hardware?
It's a special edition Star Wars PSP 2000. Try ebay. You can probably find one for less than $100.
Anyone know how to fix this stupid windows update failing shit? at the end of my rope bros
I mean you do what you want, but if you're asking what I think constitutes beating the game then it's definitely the reverse castle
