Did a video game ever make you tear up when you were young?

pic related and the music/ending dialogue did it for me

H-he died?

fuck you, now i want to play explorer of sky again.

>tfw played red rescue team as a kid
>loved the characters, the story made me cry, it was super exciting to recruit new members and visit their areas
>loved it to death
>life gets in the way and dont play games for a good 10 years
>just picked up Super Mystery Dungeon
>youre a pokemon in an everyday elementary school life sim

i skipped it because i don't have a 3DS, is really that shit?

that's just the opening brother

Apparently not. Ita supposedly really great. Its just a ton of unskippable, repetative dialogue in a school setting at the beginning.
They are obviously reinforcing character archetypes and background, but I felt as though its a little too much.

Its really, really fucking charming though, I'll give it that.

The opening and like half of the plot. Also, you don't recruit mons, they join after you do a quest for them and you only get one of each Pokémon.

It was a weird mystery dungeon game

When I was young? No because when you're young, you can't appreciate good writing or character development unless it's shown through actions. Nowadays when I visit old games, I can do that and I'm basically tearing up for my younger self since I was an idiot child

The final boss theme is pretty good though. Almost on par with Dialga's Fight to the Finish:

KH2 was a feels rollercoaster as a young lad

This. It was really strange to play through. I'm not going to say it was bad but honestly I don't want to play it again.

...

When you unlock the evolution cave is it best to just go full evolution?

It depends on the evolved forms typing and moveset, since evolving doesn't boost any stats like in the main games. Although I think it boosts HP, but I might be remembering that wrong.

Eh. I evolved my character and my partner, and now playing through just feels different. Dialogue is a lot more static between you both, and you don't even have portraits anymore.

The ending cutscene to the first Kingdom Hearts game made my shed a tear or two. The music combined with the forced feel shit brought out my little bitch kid emotions.
While we're at it I also cried at the scene in Barnyard where Otis is sad that his dad died. I was a faggot little kid I know.

>characters lose their expressions, dialogue, AND sleeping animations
It's been ten years and they still haven't gotten this right.

...

Is it the same for newer games? I've only played Red and that was years ago.

Worth buying Super?

The end of shining force where the main character has to go down with the castle after killing dark dragon.

I cried when I got rid of my Chao. Still not sure why I got rid of him, tho
You are a faggot, but not for crying about that dad.

Super has great gameplay, but the pacing and the story are kind of fucked and the post game is just collecting all 720 Mons

theres no point to evolving anything since you only get one of each mon

...

>he played Pokemon: Furry Fanfic OC version
The Mystery Dungeon games are pure, unfiltered autism.

Explorers of Sky is probably the best one all-around.

Red/Blue Rescue Team > Explorers of Sky

The first 5 or so hours of EoS when you have to work for the Wigglypuff clan is ass. Afterwards is a lot like the first game, so it's fine.
The town in the first game is more homely.

I wanna play as a fucking Munchlax then go beast mode Snorlax. Can I play as Muncklax from start to finish?

Sorry but no OP. I was not raised to be a crying ass bitch.

fite me

and it's glorious Idec

>tumblr-tier gif
Shame on your parents for raising you into a faggot instead.

The story is kinda slow to start, but I enjoyed it. Music was pretty nice, too. You might not like your partner as much in the beginning, as they are kinda childish. Also didn't like the use of *munch* *slurp* *gobble* and whatever, but it wasn't awful. It's a nice game all around.

Ending to shadow of the colossus. Only vidya I cried about. And I teared up at the end of The ringed city after realizing souls is over.

...

Terranigma's ending still gets me to this day.
There's something so strangely moving about it.
