Dr. Eggman, clearly
Guess you could say that was his master plan.
He'd love to destroy the blue one, you know.
Git gud he is piss easy once you get his pattern down
>playing Yoshi in Sonic 2
>can't damage this fucking thing unless you get behind it
>have to carefully position yourself to run under it as it's fucking landing, risking getting crushed
It's not about getting the pattern down, it's the game that doesn't tell you when it's okay to hit him like it does with other bosses. You're just supposed to guess. I died a few times because I hit him a nanosecond before he got into his vulnerable position. The fact that you have no rings just makes this tedious.
>Yoshi in Sonic 2
What?
You're such a fucking pleb holy shit
I do admit I don't play videogames often.
>Boss fight without rings.
>Then another boss fight without rings.
Fuck it, I'll admit it stressed me out as a kid, though it made beating his ass that much more satisfying.
The emerald stages were bullshit, though. Come to think of it they always are.
Agreed. I will admit that the fight is harder with Knuckles. Actually have to wait for him to get low instead of just jumping and hitting him at the apex of your jump.
Also agreed on the emerald stages. I avoided having Tails active because of those damned bonus rounds.
It's a hack.

Once you figure out his pattern he's easy, it's just annoying when you hit him and fall through instead of bouncing back and hit his arm and die. Silver Sonic is easy as hell too.
Nice.
Sonic only needs one ring to live, so forcing you to fight a mini-boss and the final boss without rings forces you to get good. That's just how games were back then, you either get good or start all over, no hand holding bullshit or being too afraid to make a game difficult. The only part of that boss fight I'd say is bad is learning how to avoid Eggman's spike hands, cause it can be frustrating to try and attack him and then accidentally hit them instead, otherwise it's a perfectly fine final boss.
There are spikes on his hands. At what point in the game have you been told that spikes are okay?
Cause the bouncy spike guys didn't come around until Sonic 3.
Did you play it recently or years after it came out? That's how games were back then.
Mecha Sonic followed by the D.E.R. is my favorite Sonic final boss, nothing can really top it especially with that music.
Was strange to to play the lower quality version and finding Silver Sonic instead of Mecha Sonic and no D.E.R.
3 has the best special stages of the Genesis Sonics by far, like damn.
I choose the better Sonic.
>took me 36 lives as a kid
fuck luckily I had 40 lives at this point
Early 90s games just expected you to die a lot until you figure it out. Shit didn't hold your hand or give you 7 tutorials on what to do and exactly when to hit enemies. You just died, got mad, then tried until you got it right. Welcome to Sonic, bubsy.
jesus christ
you underage fags wouldn't had survived a single fucking video game from that time without yt or gamefags, or even know what to play without someone telling you what to like and why
>playing it wrong
...
user I was joking
the guy in the video is clearly playing it wrong
I was just showing a different method
jeez
leddit really has ruin the subtext of Sup Forums
to be fair, for that one you could jump on earlier ones to get past them.
Sorry, user. It's hard to tell with text sometimes.

here is an example of what I mean
A risky strategy.
Can't you go behind him and eat the bombs he launches for eggs?
Just asking because it makes sense, and not because I have ever played this?
>Mfw I could beat Sonic 2's final boss when I was a kid but couldn't figure this out
Yes. But it's hard to get behind him. You have to time it and risk being crushed.
It's not as easy as it is with Sonic because Yoshi has no spin dash.
yeah I was justing a different method
which in hindsight seems just as difficult
>Death Egg Robot
>hard
Stay at the far left of the room and he's literally harmless. He can't walk the whole way before flying off again, and his hands don't reach that far from the right side of the room.
You're going to have to leave your hidey hole eventually if you're going to win, user
He's right though, you just have to have him target the far right side of the room. All of which is easy.
