Animal species should actually matter in what they say. No more of the dumbass 8 generic personalities they give villagers. A bird should talk about doing bird things and a bear should talk about doing bear things. Why the fuck is this so hard.
Furniture that actually does shit. I think the amiibo update went in the right direction with the 3DS/Wii U items.
Cooking? I dunno, always annoyed me we can eat food but it does nothing. Maybe special effects or something for certain food.

And finally, romance

and let a large group of players be there. Instance it so you can have 20-50 depending on size other random people in the same instance

Jobs for the villagers, like running the stores and shit instead of having the "set" NPCs that do so, would make going to a friends village feel more different since it wouldn't be the same NPCs running the shit as in your own town.

Biggest problem I've ever had is how you can't have kitchens or bathrooms, you could put a toilet on the first floor but it looks stupid as fuck

More shit for late night players. It's bullshit that the store closes at 10 or 11 in New Leaf without the Night Owl ordinance. All the game really needs is a 24 hour convenient store in addition to the other stuff and I'd probably be fine though. Other than that, I just want more bugs and fish to collect. Music selection from previous games would be nice. I'm sure the OST for the next game will be great, but it'd be cool if you had all the older games' music available and could choose hour-by-hour which game's music you want to play.

MK8 has shown that a proper 3D Animal Crossing world is 100% doable, and it looks gorgeous to boot.

I didn't bother going out of my way very far to find them, so I didn't see any for City Folk or Happy Home Designer, or if maybe the lists for GC and NL have any new or missing credits what with the whole multiple releases deal those two had.

Most of the brand new Amiibo neighbors are just "character from other thing AC-ified", like literally Wolf Link, Epona, Medli, pig Ganon, or a Felyne from Monster Hunter. The only exceptions are the Splatoon ones, which put a little more thought into it, and the Sanrio collab ones which are supposed to be like regular villagers who are just big fans of the properties, but Toby and Etoile are the only ones that I particularly like of those six.
