It's not very good and it got compared to dark souls a lot to try and hype it up.... but it's very clunky combat with reliance on cool down timer abilities, so it doesn't play like dark souls. The areas get very bland and samey about 1/3 into it too.
Basically most people who played it were dark souls fans and were disappointed. I played it after it was free on PS+ and wasn't impressed.

Very lacking enemy variety, especially since it blows its load on big spikey demon enemy right after the introductory cutscene.
A lot of gamey shit tacked on like runing your equipment or doing bonus challenges for phat lewt that just detracts from worldbuilding.
Full price game.
A lot of shit that's likely unchanged or definitely unchanged for the Surge.
Not this studio. A lot of this stuff is probably deeply rooted in how they go about making the game.
I don't think I can justify 45€ for this game and it's not like I don't make a lot of bad 50€ purchases either.
