Once you manage to 1cc one of them, clearing another one gets a lot easier imo. Touhou patterns are pretty puzzle-ish generally, you have to think a bit to figure out how to get through them but once you've done that they don't usually require super good reflexes or even reading of the screen, at least on normal.

Until I see someone flesh and blood not know Order of Operations I dismiss them as falseflaggers.

I think he usually has pretty appealing color-schemes and the designs aren't too generic either, which I like. The only designs which I find fit into that category you described are the PC-98 ones.

ZUN is actually pretty clever with his design. Especially in his later games.
