I did it in 13h or something the first time I believe, taking my time.
Great game albeit easy. I played the version with the modern keyboard controls because otherwise it was a NOPE for me.
Took me 12
My first playthrough was about 9-10 hours.
Game is fun. Executive Level best Level

Took me 13 hours.
>83 regenerations
were you just throwing yourself at enemies trying to kill them with the laser rapier?
I don't even remember why I died so much.
*teleports behind u*
I probably died more than he did. I'm a 90's kid and even System Shock was before my time, so it was really hard for me. Worth playing at least once for every game's enthusiast.
>not killing yourself every time you take damage
Do you even conserve consumables?
Took me like 20h, but my run was a psi-hacker one so it could be different for a gunner.
Man Diego was hard as shit, the first time i heard him i scare the shit out of me.
5 or so until you need to backtrack through the entire game at which point you give up like the casual I am.
>im a 90s kid
>a game that came out in 1994 is before my time
So youre not youre a 90s kid
>hear that the game has limited resources that need to be managed carefully in order to not run out
>get paranoid and never use any consumables and only use energy weapons
>my inventory when reaching level 8
And of course I forgot the pic.
About 11 hours. Definately on of the best games I have ever played.
Is it worth buying the remake or just playing it on DOS
definitely* FUG
Just play it on DOS.
You mean the enhanced version? Play the enhanced version because it's litterally the CD version with a couple of mods added to QoL purposes.
Also, if you are on windows 7 or 10 get a midi converter because default one is ass.
>is it worth buying the remake
It's not even out yet. How would we know?
>enhanced version is just the original with a few fanmade mods thrown in instead of an actual enhanced version using the Mac versions assets
That's pretty lazy and cheap desu
Okay.
what's better about the mac version besides arguably the music
or maybe they had parents that actually gave enough of a shit to not let their kid play a terrifying-ass game like System Shock when they were young enough for it to matter
I've heard that it has higher quality textures and character portraits but I don't know if that's actually true.
There's surprisingly little about the Mac version online but it looks like they redid all the assets.
More like they run them through a filter
system shock RULES. one of my favorite games. of all. time
13-14hrs probably
enhanced edition is exactly the same as the cd DOS version only it works natively on windows (no lag) and has SOME mods integrated which can easily be obtained from systemshock.org if you just wanna DOSbox
yeah mac version has higher res assets and some other cosmetic changes here and there
it's kinda disappointing that the enhanced edition doesn't include the mac version of the soundtrack as an extra
