AAA Western dev has more budget.

yet their games have 10-12h playtime

Fucking where? Last western game I played that took more than 10h to get through was serious sam.. Now we're lucky if it goes above 6.

Took me 10h to get to the point where I defeated Kamoshidafuck you it was my first persona game
Already longer than what current day western devs are capable of. If it was made by a western dev there wouldn't even be enough content to get there.

It took me 195 hours to beat this thing
What did i do right/wrong?

no idea, I finished it in 77 hours.

Had fun I would hope

By beat you mean platinum right? There's no way you took twice as long as the average person to complete the game once right?

Oh I did
Went in blind with no guide so I spent a ton of time grinding up cash in probably unviable locations so i could spend a ton more time experimenting with fusion. Once strength rank 10 hit I needed even more money. and it was also merciless difficulty

The only reason any of the palaces take up to 10 hours is because 80% of that time is spent on dialogue and cutscenes. To say nothing of the fact that everything up until Ann joins your party is just a lengthy tutorial. There's not actually any gameplay or extra content during those sections.

It would end at the best and most satisfying part?

took me 180ish hours to beat on a normal first playthrough

You guys are in no way the norm. In fact you are the outliers. There are people that 100% the game in the time it took you to beat it once.

Obviously meant to reply to

Those reviews are how I know the reviewers only made it through the first palace. The game gets fucking weak after Madarame, and doesn't pick up again until the Casino, and Shido (despite the ship being awful). It's an 8-8.5/10, a game denied perfection by a ridiculously weak middle arc.

Did you leave the console on to accumulate time on the save file ?

>tfw still don't have the P4G trophy for hearing a shitload of Rise's nav. lines

did they talk to every NPC in the city after every story event?

because I did.

I did fall asleep once or twice while playing, but that is only going to account for 20 hours at most

>Trusting anyones opinion except your own
Since when apart from Sup Forums shitposters do people actually take reviews seriously?

That's pretty standard for Persona games though. In 4 you have to beat what, 3 bosses, before it lets you open up the menu?

They're pretty bad about that shit.

Eh I dunno, I didn't mind the middle and infact I liked everything up to the Burger Place the most, the depressing downtone in the final bit wore on me a bit too much and I didn't like how some of the plot threads were resoled:

>Akechi killed more people than Adachi, gleefully murdered them in cold blood and was given this massive redemption "He's not so bad" section by the Phantom Thieves (right after they pulled off an elaborate plan to avoid him betraying them and murdering their leader)... Meanwhile, Madarame was "unforgivable" for plagarising some art.
>Morgana's reveal just in general.
>You're randomly going back to the parents who kicked you out
>The True Ending is pretty much unavoidable, which is fine, but holy shit the game gets LONG. I thought it was almost over when I was at the Casino.

Still loved it so much I'll easily give it a 9/10 though.

>my opinion is more right than someone else's

Meh, the game would be perfect if it ended after Akechi puts a bullet in your brain. The swerve plan was a clusterfuck that barely made any sense.

It makes sense, and it did have clues leading up to it like how they pointed out the police station nearby in saes palace when you first entered it. they just did a terrible job explaining it

Also pancakes

I liked how your recollection became hazy and you began skipping over large portions of events. Made it clear something big was going on that your character couldn't quite get out correctly, was well done.

I had 106 hours myself, waifu'd Makoto.
Genuinely curious how people managed to spend so much time beating it. I played on normal, but I blew through the dungeons in pretty much a day or two.

>howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=15221
>dat difference in PS3 and PS4 completion times
Loading times must be a bitch

Well, you can literally end it at that point if you pick the wrong option.
And what do you mean the ruse didn't make sense? It's one of the most well done plotwists in a long time. People are hard pressed to find a hole in it.

I did mine on hard and the only issues i had was in kamoshidas place where everything 1 shots everyone. i barely finished it with 1 day remaining after that calling card bullshit they introduce last moment that takes up a day and doesn't tell you about it beforehand.

After that every other palace took 1-3 days depending on wat i had to do in reality to get through obstacles and such. still took 200 hours

I feel like they made the true ending pretty much unavoidable was because of how easily you could miss the true ending in Persona 4, hell, you could miss the plain good ending if you say one wrong piece of dialogue in the hospital. That shit happened to me on my first playthrough, and that's really frustrating when it happens after something emotional.

I feel like I had more of an emotional reaction and felt a bit more attached to the Persona 4 protags though in the end than I did in Persona 5, and I don't know, something about P5's true ending feels a bit, I dunno, flat?

>People are hard pressed to find a hole in it.
Like how Joker's shadow didn't just dissipate immediately after being shot, and instead was delayed until Akechi left the room?

>akechi steals gun and shoots cop
>light_yagami_face.png
>points gun at my head
>...
>you feel a strong bond between you and akechi
>splat

Explain this

Joker is like damn this nigga is crazy, you're alright ghost face killah

They did say that you rank up when they start spilling their heart towards you. It just so happens a lot more was spilled that day.

I might be wrong but wasn't that just sae's cognition of joker? i don't think cognitions would disappear when killed like shadows do.

My problem with the plan is that they had no way of knowing if sae would be the first to meet with joker. akechi could have gotten there first and just killed him and there would have been nothing he could do. Also the guards let him keep the phone for some reason.

You were literally too retarded to get it, it was simple yet genuinely clever, and all its elements were heavily foreshadowed.

I feel a bit confused at what happened at certain parts
>How did you acquire the Nav in the first place?
>How did Akechi find out about it first?
>Did the guys trying to cover up for Shido have a change of heart or just fuck off?

> The God of Control gives you and Goro the meta-nav to see which force is stronger, basically to see if humanity is worth saving

>The entire public had a change of heart after the final fight remember?

The real question is how Sae's cognition of you allows you to rank up when people talk to it even if you're not even in the palace yourself.

>How did you acquire the Nav in the first place?
Yaldabaoth put it on there I believe, as part of his shit plan to use and fool you when he posed as Igor.

>How did Akechi find out about it first?
Not too sure on this one, I just thought it was either found as part of Futa's mothers research, or handed down too by the god posing as Igor.

>Did the guys trying to cover up for Shido have a change of heart or just fuck off?
They just fucked off and kept quiet obviously. I think there was a few scenes with them after Shido confesses right?

If this was a western game it wouldn't have a character like Kamoshida

Sae was talking to the real you. She then made Akechi go to the cognitive world by using the phone. It's there that Akechi kills the cognitive version of you.

Now, how Akechi ranks up when capping your fake ass is a real question, and I have no idea how.

improved the pic for u

True or bad endings Goro still kills you right?

you grinded on the wrong mob

>Now, how Akechi ranks up when capping your fake ass is a real question, and I have no idea how.
That's pretty much what I was saying user.

195? Did you do NG+? I've never bothered with that before in Persona but I'm really tempted to do it for this one

One could say that Akechi shooting your cognition and you knowing the plan worked is the ultimate trust as Akechi does not for a second believe you are hiding anything from him. But that is some hardcore reaching.

Perhaps there was a way to see into the cognitive world and realize Akechi's true intentions. You don't have to actually have an actual conversation to get closer to someone, even if getting closer meant getting shot in the forehead.

Akechi himself said the two of you would have been all right if it wasn't for the circumstances surrounding the two of you, after all.

Madarame was kind of responsible for the death of Yusuke's mom though

>Meanwhile, Madarame was "unforgivable" for plagarising some art.

Also, ruining the lives of many artists, potential and realized alike. He was a pretty big cunt offscreen from everyone's comments.

>tfw going through NG+ for a full completionist run
>all social links maxed
>all games played
>all personas
>guardian fish caught
>get to December
>check mementos
>I missed one
>this also means I can't get all books read
>mfw
I love the game but doing a third playthrough so soon after completing it is going to destroy me. Guess I'll go back to it in like a year or something after I've gave it some space.

They knew because the real Akechi was with them, they could easily delay him, and Sae was ready to go right away. They didn't replace her on the case until right at the end, after all. And once she was in Akechi had to let her keep interrogating to keep the show under wraps.

Nope, just ng
Gonna do ng+ right now

if western dev made this itll be about america vs the world again not teenagers vs the prime minister

>It's one of the most well done plotwists in a long time.

Yo fuck outta here.

Plot twists are not meant to be so fucking obvious that it constantly shoves it in your face what is happening. The whole ruse was blatant

Persona 5 is one of the top 5 games to treat its players like idiots

If this game was made by Western devs it wouldn't exist in the first place.

If the game was made by a Western dev the main color would be brown instead of red.

If this game made by western, niggas and lgbts everywhere.
Heroins are full of fat.

stop looking women sexually reeeeeeeeee!!

"Pre-order now to get Jack Frost!"

Is there anything interesting in NG+, or is it basically just Sataneal and maxing out Slinks?

fighting the twins and going through relationship dialogue if you like that

It's great if you missed out on social links or other encounters. Having max stats from the start offers some other unique dialogue too that you couldn't do/choose beforehand.

Apart from that, just fighting the twins, getting all personas.

If it was made by a western dev it wouldn't have half the girls outfits be as sexy, you couldn't romance, it would be a shooter, and don't even think about having literal angels and demons, god forbid some of them are copyrighted, and Catholics got a hold of it more than they already have.

Why did it take you so long? Did you grind for hours or did you play REALLY carefully?

So I just finished the space dungeon and I don't see what the constant bitching and complaining was all about. My only problem was those one eyed elepant niggas who spam deathbound but once I fused unicorn that shit stopped being a problem. Also the last puzzle that I some people bitched about isn't even hard literally just look at the map for one then 5 seconds and you'll see the solution.

grinded for hours. went full autismo with getting the optimal personas every 3-5 levels but needed stupid amounts of cash for it so it just led to more grinding. 10 of those hours is catchup for not saving + dying, and another 20 is for falling asleep.

It's not very hard and it's very straightforward after the first time. I don't dislike it that much either. It's just a bit tedious if you mess up the last airlock puzzle.

honestly it should have ended after kamoshida. the game falls apart afterwards
