>wasting a slot on athletics
I guess you want to go fast as soon as possible, but still

I've literally never used an axe in this game. I should probably do a viking build sometime.
Also, I think Enchant is a waste.

Enchant is useful for weapon damage and combining it with alchemy abuse to create constant effects.

I know it's useful, but it seems like a waste to spend a slot on it. Especially if you're going to abuse alchemy.

Clicked ranomize, got this.
Not too bad.

I love going full sanic mode

I don't agree with choosing Security, because your Alteration can unlock everything. But I like Mysticism as a major skill, I think most people don't understand its true strength.
Unless it's for role-playing Speechcraft just sucks. Even using Persuasion on every NPC you meet, it will level slowly. Pretty much have to buy training.
Specializing in all that armor is odd. But I guess your character might enjoy different armor styles and likes to switch it up. And medium armor has the best looking armor so good work in that case.

It's even better if you have super high stats, it makes you invincible (unless you have low HP and get a rare hit from a physical attack, possible insta-death).

>Speechcraft just sucks
spot the asshole that never got halfway through the main quest.

SUCKS

I always try to make a Ninja in these games and Morrowind does it well

>Shuriken in vanilla
>Tantos, wakisashis and shit all present in vanilla
>Entire guild dedicated to being a ninja and killing niggers already in vanilla
>Layer armor means I can be /fa/ as fuck but have proper gear underneath

Mysticism is the best. Worth it for absorption spells alone. Good point about alteration, but I like lockpicking and it's not easy to get a good unlock spell early on in the game.

>walk around the world with my ninja armor
>wear a common robe over it so people think I'm a traveling commoner begging to be robbed
>when a player assaults me I remove the robe and wear the mask to unleash my death technique

They fall for it everytime.

Spamming summons since level 1 to get through everything. All the rest are just money sinks for x5 multipliers.

Mysticism is really powerful in Morrowind, especially Absorb Health which is the closest you can get to being reflect immune.

Too bad those mysticism effects have pretty huge mana costs in general and is largely useful only for teleportation. Just get a vampire ring instead with maxed enchanting. Less trouble and at no cost.

Is it possible to make a stealthy mage in Morrowind? Or do only physical attacks cause sneak attack crits? I was considering a nightblade type character but I wanted to be more mage than rogue.

>Coax someone into attacking you
>Wait for the guards to run in and kick his ass.
>"N-nani! He dodged every blow"

>discussing builds for a completely broken rpg system

>TFW Morrowind can't alt tab without exploding

I never play morrowind only skyrim don't bully please

>If I can't see a reason to discuss it, there must be no reason

Rather self centered of you.

Can someone give me quick rundown on state of those projects to port Morrowind to modern engines?

>Atronach High Elf
Balls of steel, user.

Tried literally every build in this thread and still get this. WTF

borderless window works fine though

Use a bow.

>Expecting to do anything at 0 fatigue

kek, finally

OpenMW is allegedly very playable.

Actually 0 fatigue only gives 0.75 mod to to hit chance

Direct damage spells don't get crits, but you can put spell effects on arrows

Started my first playthrough recently. Got bored about 30 hours in. Didn't get anywhere in the main quest because I got super sidetracked. Abused alchemy a little to make money to buy skills. Character build is pretty unfocused right now but still seem to be able to deal with anything the game throws at me.

Anyway I think it's too hard to know what to do for some of the quests. And the guy who was following me got stuck behind something and I haven't seen him since. So, I don't know about this game anymore. It was certainly good when I was just starting out.

>try out Oblivion combat mod
>Out of stamina in 3 swings

WOW

It's more pronounced than that because full fatigue gives +25%. So you're going from 125% to 75% by being on 0% fatigue.

Does anyone ever do playthroughs without using magic? How do you manage it without going insane? Magic adds so much flexibility and solves so many problems that I can never seem to make a build that isn't at least part mage.

Can you run graphic overhaul on shit PC?

There is not a single problem in vanilla which can't be solved with deadric daikatana

Its a lot more immersive.

>Can't just mark a town, load up all your shit then recall.
>Have to rely on scrolls on alamsivi intervention or divine intervention
>Have to go to the alchemist and buy levitation spells any time you want to consort with Tel'vanni shit heads.
>madatory disease and dispelling potions on hand at all times.

You reach a point in all Bethesda games where gold loses its value and you just have an infinite supply of it. So going non mage adds a nice pacing to things

I always have utility spells like teleporting. I can make do without a lot of it though

Skywind is doing pretty great job - I mean they are going for fan-based complete voice acting. Only time I remember such being done is during looking glass engine mods era.

>fan-based complete voice acting
That sounds terrible.

Cool

Their showcase sounds exactly like actual bethesda games

Could someone explain why my sneak skill is in the red. I don't have any diseases.

It's probably a magic effect from some attack. You need a 'restore speed' effect.

Go to an imperial shrine and get yourself healed

>Unless it's for role-playing Speechcraft just sucks. Even using Persuasion on every NPC you meet, it will level slowly. Pretty much have to buy training.
I see people say this about a lot of skills in Morrowind and most of the time it's because they never picked them in the first place. All of Morrowind's skills except Acrobatics, Athletics, and armor skills intentionally follow a curve whereby they are very difficult to gain experience in early on because failures don't count towards progress, but level very quickly in the mid-high range. It's to encourage utilizing training if you want to start using skills you don't specialize in.

My last character chose Speechcraft as a minor skill for a spy-type build. I hadn't utilized it much before and it surprisingly became my quickest leveling and playstyle-defining skill. It's insane how much you can bypass with persuasion, and part of the reason it leveled so fast is that I play on max difficulty and ended up using a calm+intimidate combo to pacify every dungeon NPC I encountered. The tricks to speechcraft that the game doesn't communicate well are:
1. Bribes don't check it at all, but still advance it. Frequent 10g bribes can often be cheaper than paying a trainer.
2. Everyone knows that persuasion is more difficult further from 50 disposition, but isn't clear is why: the effect of your skill itself reduced the further it goes, all the way down to NOTHING at the extremes. This means that once disposition drops to 0, you will have the minimum (5% I believe) chance to admire, intimidate, or taunt no matter how high your stats are.
3. NPCs defend against persuasion with their own speechcraft and personality. High level ones with a class that specializes in speech are much more difficult to persuade and you'll lose more disposition on average when you fail. Be sure to ask "background" or "my trade" to get an idea of who you're dealing with before you start trying to flirt with everything.

never fucking mind this post, I thought it was 'speed', not 'sneak'.

I don't see an item with fortify in your inventory, but I know there's a bug where if you get hit by a drain attribute/skill spell while you've got that skill fortified, the game will put you back to your base stat without taking the fortify into account, which will then drop when you unequip your item/spell runs out.

Ie:
Sneak of 30 base +10 fortify sneak = 40 sneak
Getting hit by sneak-20 puts you to 20 sneak
Spell runs out, returns you to 30 sneak
Unequip fortify sneak, you drop to 20 sneak and it goes red.

>And the guy who was following me got stuck behind something and I haven't seen him since
Fukkin lmao

>When you stop posting because you can't get the captchas to work

Hm, damn. I didn't want to be a stealth archer. I guess magic would be even more OP if it had sneak attacks.
