I try to save my Ults because every game is fucking D.Va+Reinhardt and they shut down 99% of Ults for fucking free. At the very least I try to flank and kill the Supports with it.

Roadhog isn't OP because you aren't forced to 1v1 him you blithering retard. You are out of position because you aren't with your team. When you get hooked, Ana/cree can stun, Lucio/pharrah/rat can boop, mei can wall, zarya can barrier, and your hog can hook him as well or you could not be retarded and stand behind one of the 4 or so shields in the game, the payload or one of your fuckhuge tanks.

If the individual skill ceiling is very low the difference between trash and good players is minimal.
Thus you are dependent on rolling the dice with teammates

Strategy is a meter in most games that Overwatch has almost completely removed with numerous characters that punish flanking on a grand scale and the poor map design choices greatly compound the issue. By mitigating strategized play you end up with meta-turtling and reciprocating ultimates, this makes for shitty gameplay which almost exclusively rewards positioning yourself into the ass of a tank.

Another factor is the barrier mechanics in the game, which are a huge detriment and prevent actual plays from occurring at every level and forces people to pick a barrier tank almost every game. There is no reason that any of the barriers reduce all damage instead of mitigating it for a percentage value based on a curve derived from it's health, never totally discharging.

Finally we have the twin healers in the meta, which again is almost necessitated, and is necessary when playing against opponents who have elected two healers. Mercy is necessary to counter Mercy which is a huge detriment to overall gameplay, especially given that her ult charges as fast as it does.

They need to:
>introduce non-healing utility classes
>remodel barrier mechanics
>introduce alternative ults on tanks
>promote strategy with better map design
>>remove all the noisey corners and angles on maps that are there for no reason
>reduce punishability for running flank plays

And this just seems like the excuse of someone who can't get out of gold.

I'm not defending the guy who said there is minimal difference between the best and worst players but it is legitimately hard to climb out of rank in OW. If you've ever been stuck trying to climb out of diamond to master you'll know what I'm talking about. Everytime you play a game where you're about to rank up the next match is completely lopsided. After S3 I vowed never to touch ranked again because of this.

I have the footage but I just looked at the dude's career profile and it turns out that the stars on his level just didnt show up at all throughout the game. Everyone else with stars had them. That's so odd.

It is a team based game. If you aren't coordinating with your team, you should expect to lose. If you keep getting picked off by a Roadhog, your positioning is bad, plain and simple, because at some point early in the match, you should have already identified him as a threat, and be taking the proper steps to avoid his hook, especially if you haven't seen it in a while, you should have the sense to realize it probably isn't on cooldown.

I play Reinhardt a lot, I'm guessing you're probably the dumb asshole that bobs in and out of the shield, then complains when you get picked, or you're the Genji/Tracer that things you're being sneaky and instead finds yourself face to face with a 600HP killing machine.
