Itsuno will never have the proper time or money in order to make gold. He's actually a genius, but capcom stifles his abilities as a director. He truly understands what it takes to make an outstanding game, he just gets shorthanded repeatedly. I still can't believe DmC got 4 years of developing time and still ended up being a buggy mess on release.

Did you not see the hundreds of videos of infinite gliding and breaking maps? Glitches present in the demo were present in the base game on release. Don't fool yourself.

The matter of the fact is that it's a well documented occurrence. There was a bug on release that virgil would just walk back and forth not attacking. Plenty of map breaking. Plenty of broken bosses.
Oh look, hundreds of people documented bugs. Now think of how many people encountered the same bugs and didn't want to record it. I'm sure there are plenty of people who had a bug free experience like you too. Congratulations. That's doesn't mean the game didn't get released in a ham-fisted manner.

4 years development time doesn't strike you as odd? Especially seeing as dmc4 got half of the development time it was promised and is a half finished game and has less prominent bugs. Don't you think that's a point of heavy criticism?

Like, watching their dev videos on their new Hellblade game, there's a part where Tameem says something like "in the graybox it's boring but you just have to trust that once all the visuals and sounds are added that it'll be good."

That's the exact opposite of what the graybox/grayscale is for. If you're making a work of art (regardless of what it is) and you make a grayscale and it isn't good, you don't just hope that it will be good once you add the color to it, you fix the grayscale first and then add the fine details afterwards. The entire point of a grayscale (in art) or a graybox (in game development) is to make sure that whatever you're working on is good before you go through the effort of adding all the color and fine detail in, since that's what takes the most effort.

It was marketed as a PS3-exclusive God of War clone with a hot chick and next-gen graphics, plus Andy Serkis handling the cinematics. This was in like 2006-7 when God of War was at its height in popularity, Andy Serkis and film-quality mocap was considered a big deal thanks to LotR, and the PS3 had basically no other noteworthy games coming anytime soon since the only major releases announced were GoW3, MGS4, and FF13 which wouldn't come out for another 2-3 years.

I was so exitited to get a new Banjo game, and that trailer looked amazing, it was just dripping with character. Then it was unveiled as Nuts & Bolts, and the disappointment was real. I have literally not been hyped for a game since. Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts turned me into a cynic.

But user N&B was a masterpiece in gaming. 10/10 ost. Crazy fun party mode online if you had friends.
