I personally loved it, being my second favorite game in the series.
It has some glaring flaws, but it does many right and has neat elements.

yes

no its the best in the series actually

it's not a bad game, it's just not as good as the others

No, not at all.

It's alright. Like it a bit more than III, personally.

It's very hard, i used cheat engine to hack me 89000 souls

i just want to know who the fuck is this in the art

nah

No, its great. Tons of replay value. First game is still better, but its better than the third, which has less to it and is extremely linear.

forlorn knight. he invades every now and then. i think they harvest souls for aldia or some shit.

someone fix my post

Aldia probably.

Scholar? It's pretty bad. Makes a lot of decisions based around making the game harder, even less coherent, and significantly less fun.

The original DS2's main problems are lack of enemy/boss variety, excessively slow and floaty combat, and the first half being almost entirely unfinished (speaking mainly of the paths with Huntsman's Copse and Shaded Woods).

it's The Forlorn.

...

It's a solid 8.5/10 in my book, absolutely worth playing.

its meh, i liked it at first, but after getting basically everything in the game twice over and beating it 10 times, it just feels not as good as the others in the series

It's in the uncomfortable position of having to be judged against both its predecessor and its sequel. Relative to those, yes.

No, it's pretty good. Just some stupid design and game flaws that keep it from most people's top spots. But it's got a lot of content, a ton of build variety, and the DLC is pretty much all good to great.

...

They made a lot of really stupid decisions and fucked up a lot of things that weren't broken to begin with, but it's still worth a play through if you liked the previous two Souls games.

Am i the only one that thinks das2 has the best lore?

When people defend DS2

Pic related is all I see

Why is it called Scholar of the first sin? Is it about attending college? Do you get to link stacy's heart and go to covenant frat parties?

How is it better than Dark Souls?

Cue people posting examples of this happening in the other games.

One of the things I liked the most was how hilariously hostile many of the environments were: A castle submerged in lava where you can't put a foot inside without a billion heavy knights rushing to tear you a new asshole, poison spitting statues everywhere, mages sniping you with soul arrows as you watch you step, etcetera.

Pros of Dark Souls 2:
-Biggest Souls game
-Least linear souls game
-Most interesting locations (imo)
-Most interesting enemies (imo)
-Tons of secrets and hidden things to find

Cons of Dark Souls 2:
-Slow movement
-Slow combat
-Have to put levels into Adaptability for I-Frames, else you can't roll through various attacks like you can in other Souls games for granted.

Dark Souls 2 is like the absolute best King's Field game ever made, a King's Field game that has a Dark Souls-esque flair to it. People don't like it because they want their Souls games to be action games first and rpg stuff on the backburner.

I, for one, was disappointed with Dark Souls 3 because it lacked a lot of substance. There was hardly any exploration, it's just linear action gameplay.

...

Dunno, spending more than 200 hours in this game makes me pay attention to things, also Aldia was a nice addition to the game.

Im playing it right now for the first time and it a step down from the first game. The only boss so far to give me problems was the big dragon. I hit Nashandra and lost. I was going to bed after the fight attempt and ended up looking for a boss list and learned nashandra was the 2nd last boss minus the 3 DLC. Im on the 2nd DLC right now and it is sorta boring. I had more fun with the first one. The DLC seem to be much better than anything in the base game.
Darklurker is sort of a struggle.

Aldia is the Scholar of The First Sin.

However, he is not the one who commited the First Sin. That was Gwyn, when he linked fire and souls with humanity to fuck humans over even harder than he already had with the Darksign.

So you can't actually point to anything
You just want to believe DS2 is better

it has some nice features

my problem with it is that it's just so ugly, and all the weapons feel so slow and stiff to use. The areas just don't feel like a world in the way DS1 did and most of the bosses were really lame. Also more content =/= better

>soul memory, effectively killing any form of build making
>dump ADP or have shit rolls
>quantity over quality
>difficulty = throw a shitload of mobs at the player
>absolute shit dlc
>absolute shit bosses, with some exceptions
>garbage covenants (all games have this)

do the math

DaS2 + DLC > SotFS

>everyone shits one something
>someone decides to focus on the positive instead of all the negative

it must really suck to be so jaded that you cant stand this user.

well, you know, its just my opinion, man

Bloodborne > DaS2 SOTFS > DeS > DaS1 first half > DaS3 > DaS1 second half

This is the truth and you know it.

if you're a souls fag, it's the worst souls game, that being said it's still a souls game and is really fun.
Your favorite band has a worst album

Dark Souls = Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls II second half > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls II first half > Dark Souls II: SOTFS

Hello hbomber
youtu.be/SRTfcMeqhig

I agree

No, it's even worse.

Probably my favourite, if you're going from hours played. I put more hours into this game than any other in the series (and I've played em all).

>second half meme
>das2 even having a reaction

Kill yourself.

I agree. I don't really care about DaS lore but I think it's more interesting in 2

The second half of DaS is objectively dogshit.

The first half of DaS2 is objectively dogshit.

Nope.

Fixed.

>second half consists of 1/3 of the game
I'll never understand this unless it's because of some guy on YouTube

The entire das series is dogshit.

Bought the collectors edition on PS3 at the time because I loved DeS and DS1 so much.

Struggled to put 70 hours in to it.

Bought it again while it was on sale for PS4 so I could play with friends. Just under 100 hours.

I just can't enjoy it. Its just so boring and aesthetically dull.

the entire soulsborne series is dogshit

and the entire portion of DaS2 is objectively dogshit.

Bloodborne had decent enemy and boss design, something the other souls game lack in. But yeah it's still painfully average.

Aldia's plot was fucking cool and the kings had nice backstories

caught a cool snippet on youtube comments about the shards of manus being noblewomen because of whatever manus did to dusk.

prtty neat-o

I was just memeing. Why do you keep going into these threads saying the saying the same thing everytime? Genuinely curious?

oh and I was in that one covenant that makes the game harder because i just clicked through it all and said yes. I hit iron keep and then a friend told me whatup.

Yeah dude I really liked how Seath was a spider and how Gywn was a floating torso boss fight. And we you got all the crowns and shit and became the op guy that can't die? EPIC!!!

I hated in Dark Souls how the npcs had actual storylines. Merchants are so much cooler and I don't have to find them in stupid areas. The ladder smith guy is f*cking cool! HE JUST PULLS LADDERS FROM NOWHERE LOL LADDERS

Not about being jaded. It's just that in both instances you have something with obvious systemic flaws and an attempt to rehabilitate it's reputation with apologisms. The DS2 defense force that sprung up to make excuse for it because of some perceived unfair backlash reminded a lot of the Prequel defenses that came out everywhere after Force Awakens was released.

ds1 fags should really crawl back to whatever they came from
it got the worst PVP, even more than ds3
second half was utter shit, worse as the chalice dungeons (WHILE THEY HAD BETTER BOSSES HOLY SHIT)
and it was a broken mess more than DES.

ds2 had problems but it's a much better game, and it's still the best online exprience in the series
so kindly fuck off

webm related. it's mine, showing how much it was a broken mess.

I installed it last night to give it my biannual "was it as shit as I remember" run. It was. Terrible hitboxes even by the souls series standards, dump stat to unfuck your roll, and frankly it was just not fun.

you also forgot to mention that above earthen peak there's a invisible floating fortress filled with lava

>it got the worst PVP

stopped reading there. I wish pvp fags would just die.

the lore was really not there in DaS2.

Hell, they never explained what sitting on the throne did and that was the last thing you did.

I started to power stance both smelter demon sword and now im having more fun. Still hate the curse bullshit and how a lot of the time they answer for challenge its just 'Just fill the zone with enemies and call it a day'

only lost izalith/demon ruins is objectively shit

This is my first souls thread in months. I don't think the series is bad but I don't think it's all that good. The difficulty comes from the bizarreness of the controls and mechanics. But once you learn them the game becomes much to easy. I beat bloodborne at level 60, which is apparently low.

This

>Hell, they never explained what sitting on the throne did and that was the last thing you did.
>"What lies ahead, only you can see."

Pretty bad, yes.

> lets make every weapon super fragile to force players to carry spares

Of course, even the shittiest Soulsborne is a million times better than anything else out this year. Only Witcher 3 comes close, and that's single player only.

Ill never understand why people take PVP so seriously in the Souls game. It was never meant to be balanced for that. Its basically just for shits and giggles and fucking with each other.

You forgot soul memory

who said that?

None of the NPCs were really that memorable in 2 and one I ended up killing on accident because of shitty game design.

The second half of bb is objectively dogshit
except for unseen village
>nightmare of mensis and frontier are garbage
>amygdala was easy
>micolash was shit
>mergos fight was shit
>shitty MP boss after best boss gherman

Okay but why is there a room with a throne?

Hell, why are there 3 throne rooms in Drangleic Castle?

I beat it at 40ish. I never level correctly in these games. I could have sworn I saw some anons use the exact same wording you did

Probably, it's pretty common phrasing.

yes

It's pretty clear your opinion is shit

Yours is shittier.

That herald woman from majula, the npc you use to level up
If my autism is functional, 1 throne room has 2 chairs (king and queen), but its empty, another throne room is for the queen only (where you first speak with nashandra), because the king went full hollow (hence why the 1st throne room is empty), and the 3rd throne room is for the true monarch, which vendrick never accomplished and hollowed while trying.

But lets just say its just the shitty design.

Adaptability was a mistake.

no
it's the best entry on the souls series

Is this webm edited? Or is that how the game runs on a pro? The driver always lagged a bit when I used it - it never looked that smooth.

It's great. I'm just so Soulsburnt.

vanilla is the worst in the series. SOTFS is on the better half of the series

DaS > DeS > DaS 2 SOTFS > DaS 3 > BB ToH > BB > DaS 2 Vanilla
