Say hello to the worst fighting game ever made
Say hello to the worst fighting game ever made
It's not even the worst game in it's series.
I know it's cool to hate SFV but that's wrong bro
what is?
1
New Generation
Any of the EX's
SFV is great when you get out of Bronze hell and have fundamentals under your feet. But oh no muh FADC and 1f links, muh revenge meter, i-it's no fun cuz every character is totally rushdown...
just finished playing some Ranma 1/2 hard battle on a super nes emulator.... yeah Ranma is way worse than SFV... pretty sure there are even worse fighting games than Ranma... oh yeah Ranma for PS1 was bad... Sailor Moon for PSX was attrocious....
SFV deserves all the hate it gets its bad but its not the worst. Not by a long shot.
>fundamentals
What fundamentals?
I think you chose the wrong file OP
at least post the Arcade version user, the PS version was Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo with a live action skin on top.
why play dumb? when you go to learn a new character do you just learn 2 special moves and spam them?
>worse than shaq fu
>worse than bootleg genesis chink fighters
>worse than million knights vermillion
SFV is the worst fighting game ever made if your first fighting game was SFIV. It's not even the worst SF because SF1 exists. It's pretty bad though.
That's not Dead or Alive 5
I'm not taking this bait. You'll just epic greentext everything I say with some shitty smug face to imply SFV has no fundamentals when the reality is you just suck. Go practice.
Actual fundamentals. Like baby's first combos. You gotta learn those WP,MP,HP combos user.
>SF3 comes out
>Hurr durr this is shit Alpha is better
>SF4 comes out
>Hurr durr this is shit 3 is better
>SFV comes out
Hurr dur this is shit 4 was better
>talking this much bullshit
Post your rank with a timestamp.
then counter-hit confirms, meaty setups, VT confirms, CA confirms, crush counter punishes, etc.
>Street Fighter, the movie based on the game street fighter, got a game based on the movie based on the game street fighter
Why tho
Not to mention frame traps, cross-up setups and proper spacing. AAs and basic patience if you're a total jittery shitter.
EX Plus Alpha was fucking decent, you lie. It was a return to SF2T gameplay.
desu I liked alpha more than any other and when alpha came out and I was at the arcade looking at it, sf2 looked like SHIT in comparison
today I hold sf2 dearly because of nostalgia and because the game is very simple so it's always fun to hop in for a few matches... but alpha was the peak for me, fuck yes alpha 3
This isn't even THAT bad of a game. You have to go back and look at the glut of digitized photo Mortal Kombat clones from back then -- there were dozens, maybe hundreds of them. Look at shit like Tattoo Assassins:
Saying terms spouted by ethnic diabetics doesnt make SFV good user.
>but alpha was the peak for me, fuck yes alpha 3
I like the extra characters but really hate the ISMs. SFA2 a best, it was tight as hell.
Not that user but those concepts aren't exclusive to SFV and I don't think he was implying they make the game good, just that the game is more enjoyable when you know them.
Back in the day, getting this shit to run on my windows 95/98 systems was always impossible. It was that game I could never install and was always curious to play. Watching this video... thank god I didn't get to play it, sheesh.
Contributing to thread, worst fighting game ever is expect no mercy:
youtube.com
Its pretty much the Zelda effect.
>babbies getting defensive when people shit on this game
I got diamond back in August last year when it still meant something and the game is shallow as shit.
Switched to GG/Kof originally coming from sf4.
WRONG! SO FUCKING WRONG! Fighting games are at their best when you have friends round your all drunk and you playing winner stays on.
All those terms you listed mean NOTHING to most gamers and you are sad lonely pathetic online warrior. Go back to r/kappa and r/SF you little 09 faggot.
it sucks but it's still better than NRS shit
very impressive user but how could I go to your profile and let everyone know you're really good if you don't tell me who you are ?_?
>then counter-hit confirms, meaty setups, VT confirms, CA confirms, crush counter punishes, etc.
none of those are fundamentals
sfv is just boring as fuck and nobody i know irl has fun with it while either drunk or sober
>It's not fun to me because I'm a retard so it's not fun to anyone
Calm down Sakurai.
>stealth SFV fan fooling no one.
I bet you're the kinda guy who is genuinely still upset that the game doesn't come with arcade mode.
I bet you're the kinda guy who asks 'WHERE'S SAKURA" every mention of DLC, even though we all know S2 is all original.
...
nah, I got left behind 2.5 months ago and moved onto GG. I can't pick up Tekken tho my autistic rage piles up when I think about it since I like SC more and tekken is blocking it
I know you have no friends so you don't realize this, but competitive fighting games are largely a social affair. The actual gaming shit is secondary to the people you meet.
Also nobody said you couldn't play casually, but SFV has jack shit for casual content because Capcom went full retard. Are you one of those Smash children who feels personally threatened and offended that people play a video game differently from you?
People who hate SFV are all parrots. They have no idea why the game is bad, they just know they're supposed to think that. Once you get them talking about the mechanics it becomes apparent they don't know a damn thing about SFV and probably fighters in general. Or they're contrarian and they think liking Tekken or GG makes them special as if fighting games are exclusive to each other.
Sad state of affairs.
youtu.be
Ed's theme is actually really fucking good. No one tell Iron Galaxy they stole it from TJ Combo
It's a lose/lose situation, I've done it before so no thanks.
If I've learned one thing it's that Sup Forums will always shit on people to feel superior no matter how little sense it makes.
If you're eu based I wouldn't mind adding you with my second account and destroying you to drive home the point though.
>implying you won't respond with >EU
>Second account
In other words you don't have an account at diamond.
>muh 16ers
except they're the ones defending it
the people that trash SFV are OGs
Starting with IV doesn't make you an OG.
The main reason I don't like SFV is it lacks characters I enjoy playing. At launch the only character I really liked was Karin, and even that was iffy. I'm sure in a year or two I'll like it more than SF4.
>Casualfags
>Stay at home in their room playing muh single player all by themselves
>Tourneyfags
>Hanging out with friends and watching top 8 with a bunch of their bros
Sure sounds like tourneyfags are the ones with no life, am I right?
I bought USF4 a week ago, having never played fighting games. While it's tough, I regret buying it mostly because the online is dead.
Even if sf5 is apparently shit, I don't know why that is and I should have just experienced it myself while playing with other people.
>the people that trash SFV are OGs
Nobody listens to Third Strike babies and rightfully so. I fucking hate that overrated, unbalanced piece of trash. Both ST and USFIV are way better.
Have you actually tried playing SF1?
It's actually one of the best fighting games ever made. But it's about 15 years too late for me to enjoy it.
Street Fighter is in a better place than it has ever been as a game. And strangely, for that reason, I don't feel like playing it anymore. It's like the goals we all had in the FGC in the 2000s have finally been accomplished and now I want to do something else with my life.
you should have waited for the CFN Beta to try sfv for free. Although you wouldn't have been able to access training room to practice.
>SF2

>Can't throw fireballs with Ken
>Can't throw fireballs with Akuma
>Can't throw fireballs with Juri or do fancy combos or do counters or do anything interesting
>Ed is yet another ungabunga boxer character
play guile then, he's the only character who can win through zoning and even then he has fancy combos
Almost everyone in sf5 is unga bunga medium medium special anyways
>Can't throw fireballs
Explain.
I don't like charge characters or Nash.
I'm so sorry you're stupid enough to enjoy arcade mode in fighting games.
I can't imagine being so insecure that people being better than me at something upset me this much. Do you not play sports with your friends because pros are that much better than you as well?
>be a faggot
>be a faggot
>dodged
>be a faggot
>being a faggot takes more than 2 brain cells
WOOoOoOOoOoW the game is asssss!!!!
Glad you agree user.
All I need to do is post this picture and make one statement:
Defend this.
>WOOoOoOOoOoOW fireballs are so unfair
Hello, Super Bronzie.
-most fireballs are unsafe with little pushback
-everyone having a v-skill or ex move to bypass fireballs
-fewer jump frames coupled with input lag makes the fireball + shoryuken/anti air combo weaker
-no fear of chip death
All of these make playing a fireball game weaker and not worth it compared to simply going in and pressuring.
Can't help you there. Bonchan transitioned well from Sagat to Nash though. Doubt you'd want to play Fang either
>Doubt you'd want to play Fang either
Who the fuck does?
>-most fireballs are unsafe with little pushback
>-everyone having a v-skill or ex move to bypass fireballs
>-fewer jump frames coupled with input lag makes the fireball + shoryuken/anti air combo weaker
>-no fear of chip death
>All of these make playing a fireball game weaker and not worth it compared to simply going in and pressuring.
I haven't played the game yet but so far almost everything I've read about it sounds so bizarre.
>538x302
ED is cool
I'm a 17er (as in, started in 2017, but it's all I do, like, hours and hours a day of super turbo) that plays ST and hates SFV and dislikes TS, I only played a couple hours of SFV
I like usf4 but there's so much tech to learn
can I stay
He's just genderbent Cammy
fireballs are weaker but not as dead as divekicks
I miss SF4
People who like to have fun and lose a lot
They wanted to move away from the defensive playstyles that was dominant in sf4 and more aggressive and spectator friendly. 3 frame buffer made links easier and input lag closed the gap between how the game felt online/offline as making reactions harder. Casuals also hate being zoned and chipped to death so removed that too.
Basically esports
You have to be a tremendous idiot to be intimidated by FADC.
Also SF4 had a better footsie/defensive game.
>HIS HAIR
SFV's mechanics fucking suck. It's far stripped down compared to any of its predecessors
>SF3
>overrated
its extremely underrated, and a fantastic game. balance is about equal to SF5.
Why are you asking for my validation? I'm a nobody who only played the SF games casually up until USFIV when I decided to git gud. It's just not a secret what a shitshow 3S was.
If you want my advice, play what you like and how you like to play it. Who needs anything else?
>They wanted to move away from the defensive playstyles that was dominant in sf4 and more aggressive and spectator friendly. 3 frame buffer made links easier and input lag closed the gap between how the game felt online/offline as making reactions harder. Casuals also hate being zoned and chipped to death so removed that too.
I can see their point with wanting to make it more aggressive, but changing the focus attack for a new mechanic would've already changing a lot of how pacing works, there are so many weird and non nonsensical changes. Making fireballs and dps shit is just stupid and the input lag is the worst shit ever.
3S is an excellent game with some of the best pixel work ever, a fantastic OST, a fun roster, and very solid mechanics.
the cooperation cup year after year also demonstrates that the "balance problems" are overstated and SF3 is no more unbalanced than any other SF. Especially because of parry, which closes the gap between players no matter their character.
>FADC
>Intimidating
No little retard boy, the fact of the matter is that FADC was one of those mechanics that made USFIV a clusterfuck full of free outs and easy reversal plays. Don't get me wrong, USFIV is still a great game but I have no idea why people pretend that FADC was anything more than an artificial combo extender/damage soak that let people get away with stupid shit. People pretend the weak fireball game in SFV is a detriment when I literally watched USFIV tourneys where pro players would FADC their way through a wall of hadokens and lay the pressure on the other guy while regaining the health back.
To be honest I'd be willing to give 3S more of a chance if it had muh Shadaloo. Gill and his society are fucking gay, I play Bison and Rog.
>Especially because of parry, which closes the gap between players no matter their character.
Meh. The strengths of the parry system is overstated. Most top tier characters still run roughshod over the rest.
It's not the worst fighting game made by a long shot. But relative to the current state of modern fighting games and what's currently available, it's easily the worst mainstream fighting game of the last decade or so.
>launched in a broken state, essentially charging $60 for an early access title
>8f of input delay, then eventually after 10 months reduced to 6.5f
>extremely shallow compared to previous games
>combos are simple and mashable
>no personality even at pro level, two players using the same character do almost the same things with no variance or way to differentiate each other
>online was trash at launch and is still filled with issues, still no real punishment for ragequitting
>ken's face
>charging players for a season pass without revealing what characters they're paying for
>constantly late on dlc and updates
>charging players AGAIN for a season pass in which they have no idea what they're paying for
>balance was fucked at launch
>keeps updating the game with balance changes, practically NRS levels of updating at this point
>despite this, the balance is still fucked
>shitty tutorial, useless combo challenges
>ken's face
>forcing players to play through long, boring survival modes for a chance to get new COLORS. not costumes, COLORS
>PC version installing rootkits
>horrible load times
>in the year 2017, player 2 has to tell player 1 when they're ready to rematch (thumbs up)
>ken's face
But there are still plenty of people who defend it either because they really love Street Fighter as a franchise and want it to succeed despite how shitty V is, or because they feel the need to justify their purchase, or because they haven't ever played any other fighting game before. If this game wasn't called Street Fighter V, it would have died within a month after launching because of what a mess it is.
And the problem with that is what? If you can't get over how to punish those who FADC willy nilly, you aren't playing right anyway. FADC is also hampered greatly by the fact you need two meters to do so at all. It's not like you can just use them at will. Meanwhile SFV has no defensive game at all regarding anti-air or anti-fireballs
>any of its predecessors
Right. You have no idea what you're talking about.
...
>Most top tier characters still run roughshod over the rest.
For the average player that isn't the case at all, especially because of parry. The better player wins.
At the top top top elite levels the following are all very viable: Chun, Ken, Yun, Makoto, Urien, Yang. That's better than most games.
>easy reversal plays.
SFV has more of that.
>launched in a broken state, essentially charging $60 for an early access title
Stopped reading there. It was $60 for an arcade game (arcade cabs cost $2,000+ for reference). You knew what you were getting. Capcom offered you INSANE value and yet you're still bitching. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Hello.
That's like 5 rushdown characters. That's not a very good variety
lol
Capcom, please. The game was broken and is still broken in many ways. It's filled to the brim with bugs and imperfections even a year later.
I know this is bait but
>$60 for an arcade game
>no arcade mode
>ken's face
I still don't get how they fucked that up so badly.
And here comes the SF5 apologists
It's a shallow game even compared to most Alpha series titles.
