Morrowind does have multiple swing animations, but most people never see them because you can't use them with the "always use best attack" option turned on.

If anything the flaw there was actually giving weapons different attack values for chopping/slashing/stabbing attacks, even though there aren't separate physical resistances or varying hitboxes for different types of attack, so there's no reason to ever use any attack except the one that does the most damage.

Morrowind used sound effects to tell you whether a weapon was effective or not.

Morrowind also has slash, thrust, and sideways attack animations as well. You probably set the damn thing to auto attack using only whatever kind of attack of those three does the most damage from your weapon (it's in the options menu.)

Not true at all. Virtually all daedra are immune to normal weapons. Clannfears and Winged Twilights are the only ones that aren't.

Why even have different attacks when one type is clearly superior to everything else? In Daggerfall different attacks allowed you to sacrifice damage for more accuracy and vice versa. In morrowid you just turn on autoattack, because its the most convinient choice.

The game is unplayable until you get the boots of blinding speed and then you have to constantly repair them after every fight until they get destroyed so quickly that you just don't bother anymore and set your speed to 250 on your own to avoid dying of boredom.
