How the fuck does Ike singlehandedly ruin the difficulty of Canto Emblem? And he certainly isn't the strongest in 10 either when Haar exists.

FE3 probably comes the closest. It's a little dull but the only particularly cancerous thing was Star Shards.

7/Blazing Sword probably comes the closest to nailing everything, but even that one is stuck with the dumb Support mechanic and obnoxious gaiden stuff.

In general, every pre-Awakening FE is visibly low-budget and lacks a certain polish but that doesn't make it the best

FE9 is that game. Only thing messed up is how the western release removed the real hard mode.

it made a lot of nice quality of life changes and the gameplay additions are nice, but awakening has some of the worst maps in the series

Ike can't solo Japanese Lunatic Path of Radiance because of the priest chapter with sleep staffs.
Nor can he solo Clash! because all the Paladins have 23+ defense and 22+ speed with Javelins and short axes.Not to mention there are 64 enemies starting out on Clash, and they get about 10 waves of 8+ reinforcements after a certain amount of turns, and then when you get close to the castle they get 12 infantry unit reinforcements straight out the front door of said castle.

In Radiant Dawn Ike cannot deal with End Game Wisps because magic damage.

He some of the best growths in the game and the post Ragnell chapters are baby tier. Just full him up with every stat booster you get and always have some elixirs.
