I like this one.

Hell, most of those gambling mini-games were great, almost addictive even. Wario's variety games also had some fun ones, like the pinball one.

Also fairy village management.

I remember this taught me how to play poker when I was a wee lad

Does a mini-game in a game full of micro-games count? Guess so. Loved playing this one a lot, Twisted was a great game.

...

this was the god damn shit

>Can knock anyone out without penalty, including the goalie.

Better than FIFA.

...

Madagascar 1 and 2 minigolf

The samurai duel and strength contest mini games from Kirby Super Star Deluxe

...

The Ape Escape mini-game in MGS3 was also pretty good.

classic

>every monkey you catch has different stats
>2 player even though the main game is singleplayer

it was too good to be true, so good that i bought a copy of ape escape 2 the minute i saw it even though i didnt have a ps2 at the time

>tfw no Poker Night at the Inventory 3 with Switch exclusive Luigi

I never understood the negatives for Twisted

It's second best, maybe even tied with Smooth Moves as the best WW game

God tier taste tbqh

I also loved Mewtroid.

Well, time to play some WarioWare Twisted again.

Dude, Twisted is usually regarded as the best.

To this day, I still haven't figured out the final boss.

There are negative opinions towards Twisted? The only negative I have for it is that I can't emulate the game easily, cause of the gyro controls. I liked Touched a lot (and still own it) but I played the game to death as a kid, but I don't have any hardware that can play GBA games like Twisted naturally. I think I may need to emulate it through my smartphone if I want to play it again, or buy a GBA and the game online somewhere if they're cheap.
Hell yeah, Mewtroid was great. Twisted had a lot of great mini and micro games.

>japanese level
>YOOOOOOOOOO

Where boys became men.

Twisted is honestly my favorite. It used the gyroscope perfectly and was crammed to the brim with fun extras.

I guess this was a mini-game, rather than a micro-game. Really loved playing this, and Dr. Wario in Warioware. Early on with the 3DS, I think I played this and Dr. Wario more than anything else, oddly enough.

...

god tier taste

>pic completely unrelated

or maybe I'm still bitter that I took the time to get all the music coins without knowing what they unlocked

Patrician's taste coming through

...

WL3's golf mini-game is great, though. It's pretty creative with using Wario's main attack for hitting the "ball".

I don't know if you can call it a minigame but the toy field in the Mario Baseball games was always fun to play, the side modes for those in general were really good

I'd buy a remake with online play for those

I'd love it if there was a Kirby game that compiled and updated all the mini-games that they've had over the years. Outside of recently having some of the mini-games updated and released on their own, they usually sort of abandoned them.

Its sort of weird that out of everything else that SMB and SMB2 had, me and my family probably played this the most. Like SMB2 had all of these other mini-games, but none of them were funner than Monkey Target 2.

I remember when they ported this to an entire series of Mario games on the GBA?

I still remember practically every voice clip.

>JUST WHAT I NEEDED
>OOPH
>WAHOO
>[Horrible compressed screams of the damned]
>THIS IS AS FAR AS YOU GO

...

...

the jumping minigame was better

...

Oh fuck yes. Why did 3DO have to go bust ;..; ? HOMAM and Might and Magic series were God tier

No one has come close to create the same atmosphere they had there

i used to play a lot of this when i was a kid

Always cracked me up the sound they made after eat the most expensive sushi

I remember playing this with some kids back in summer camp, passing a GBA back and forth to play it. Mario Party Advance also had some fun mini-games to play with friends, like the chicken game with four cars for everyone to stop. Hard to find any good images of them, though.
That was a great one, as well as the jumping one. The face match-up, not so much.

...

It better be in the remake.

Already confirmed not to be. You would have to be pretty entitled to expect the remake to have absolutely everything the original has.

That one was fucking shit. I was too young to know what i was doing so everytime i clicked on it, I would ask my dad to show me how to play and he would just play it for a few hours with out talking

...

great fun on any platform

>I have an idea! Let's remake a game but make worse!
>Awesome Chingchong-kun, let's do it!

That sounds more like a personal problem than anything, user. Though I can't blame your dad, he had good tastes.

Alright, so maybe it's not a very good mini-game, but I think it's pretty funny and worth mentioning.

How is expecting the same amount of content for price 20 years later entitlement? If anything the game should have more shit

>*that kid* tells me if you make it past stage 100 you fight Bowser
>go home
>rev up mario bros
>made it to stage 153 before getting game over
>gave up
>go back to class on monday with the most dissapointed look on my face but not because there was no Bowser but because I wasted an entire weekend on Mario Bros

I kinda disliked all of those mini-games in Advance 3, they all got to be kind of annoying after a while.

K-KWEEEEEEHHHH!!!

Didn't this come as a mini-game for all of the GBA Super Mario Bros games?

...

>being this based

>wee lad
>how young are...
>published in 2004
christ how time flies

came to post this

NO. FUCKING.TIN.PIN.SLAMMERS
fuck you niggers

Pokemon Stadium in general had some legit minigames. Don't remember much from 2 as I only rented it once and never bothered with emulation for it.

Everything in Melee, by the way. Brawl fucked it up royally.

but the snowboarding section sucks.

>tfw completed the game to 100% I spend 4 years, shits was my jam

Another great mini-game from Twisted. How does it just keep doing it.

Sell me on minigames? I never got them. Basically you get a bunch of games that aren't fun or deep enough to make into a full game and you stick them together to make a collection of not very fun shallow games?

They're just short, simple games that don't take much time or effort to play but may involve minor skill mastery (like getting a perfect rhythm). They're just that; miniature games inside of your main game. They can be time wasters or just something to enjoy on the side or completion rewards, and they can be pretty damn fun sometimes. In the case of Wario Ware games, the appeal is having a large variety of mini (in this case, "micro") games to play that have certain mechanical themes to them.

I should also add, sometimes games will include mini-games as puzzles or obstacles that are required to complete for progression, which can sometimes be well done and sometimes be annoying to play. I can't think of anything specific but I know they're out there.

...

I still remember my frustration when my fingers got to sweaty and I couldn't hit the buttons properly

DK64 is a major abuser of this. FUCK JETPAC

...

>WELCOME TO BONUS ZONE
I don't know if bonus barrels exactly count as mini-games (I guess they kinda do?), but DKC2 and 3 both had great bonuses.

>mfw exiting the game corner in d/p/pt

my negro

>that endless tower
That is a good mini game but creepy me out

...

Which mario party is the best?

I always played Apple Assault

Mario Party has had so many great mini-games over the years that it's hard to pick favorites, but Aces High will always be a childhood favorite of mine.

I had the most experience playing 3 so I'm kinda obligated to say 3, but 2 and I think 4 (pretty sure it was 4 but my memory is fuzzy) were also a lot of fun to play. 4 always had very pleasing sound effects and music to listen to, I can still hear those dice roll sounds and the turn-start chime.

3. Best boards and WACKY items

Don't forget battle mode. That shit was pretty fun too.

...

it's actually pronounced IYOOOOOOOO
theres an I at the front

...

My nigga. I'd also play pic related for fucking hours

Fuck off, that shit is the worst part of WL3

My brotha from another motha
At first it was annoying as hell but once you level the team a bit and get decent players shit's addictive

>that glass break
triggers my almonds

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I'll always miss board the platform. Still don't know why they never brought it back.

puking_girl.gif

I was going to post that one. Not even sure why I liked it.

it's the only thing in the game you do that you don't hit stuff for
>hit sandbag
>break targets

This was satisfying as fuck getting all the shit that falls and have it pour into a pirhana's mouth

Fair enough, but it does have a lot of enjoyable platforming that makes use of each character's move set. Platforming is an important aspect of Smash even if it's not traditional platforming, and it's always nice to practice your character's movements through obstacle courses. Plus, they were just fun maps to play.
