>GET READY
>IT'S NOT OVER YET

Yes, it's the last X game to have the SNES games' solid classic formula and feel

Pretty much

Yeah, I liked parts of X5 (X vs Zero) and X6 tho.

No, X4 and beyond the games dont feel as tight control wise

>Yes, it's the last X game to have the SNES games' solid classic formula and feel
Wrong.
X3 is the last one with SNES game's feel.
X4 broke through and improved from it.

YEAH YEAH YEAH

IRIS I FUCKIN SLASHED YOU TO DEATH, ARE YOU ALRIGHT

NOOOOO WHY IS THIS HAPPENING??!!

I mean more in terms of its structure and progression, i.e. the armour pieces being cumulative

I would've like it more if I hadn't played Sonic and Knuckles just before.
I was expecting the X and Zero playthroughs to have alternate paths and different secrets, but everything but the story and a few plot points were the same.

It also felt like X's story was kinda thrown in last minute. Here's double- oh he's a bad guy- I feel bad about stuff.

X5 it's better

X4 and X5 are both good, everything after that is varying degrees of shitty though.

Yes, definitely.

X1 and X4 are the best.

X2, X5, X8 and CM are alright.

X3 and X6 are underwhelming.

Yeah its pretty good. But I still like X5 and X6 simply out of nostalgia. I did play through X6 recently and remembered how garbage the level design was, but the music was still pretty dope.

X4 is still the best out of the 3 ps1 games though

Spot on.

Wrong

Why was x5 the only x release on pc? I found that game at goodwill when I was 7 and the final boss fight made me so frustrated I cried like a faggot

X5 is good but autists here hate it because of the colony drop and because it's literally X4 but you can change characters.

100% Correct

Chocolate Devil made me cry like a bitch when i was a kid but eventually i got good a beat him.
Sigma's 1st form took me months to beat and when i finally did it, his second form appeared and i simply gave up. If only i knew about E-Tanks when i was a kid.

Nice argument

I still love X4 despite the people calling it linear and "too easy". I really don't see what the game does wrong at all, plus it controls really well and Zero being playable and having new moves makes him a ton of fun. Maybe I should replay the games though.

Megaman 8 is also pretty solid.

>hmm this game is
>"megaman, there are some enemies ahead"
>wait, why did a megaman ga-
>"megaman, there is a hole ahead, you need to jump over it"
>it's a platforming game, of course there is
>"megaman, be careful, there are more enemies ahead"
>oh fuck, is this going to keep up the entire
>5 hours later
>"megaman, there are enemies ahead"

The colony drop? Why would that make someone mad?

X1, X2 and X4 are the best

X3, X8 and CM are alright

X5 is mediocre but playable

X6 and X7 are disasters

X4 is the best X game released on a PlayStation system not counting ports, so yes.

Even in rankings like this what is considered "alright" is pretty clearly heavily skewed by the era. X8 is okay compared to X6 and X7, but when compared to X1, and even X2 and X4, it's terrible.

It's random what the outcome of the Enigma/Shuttle launch is, so you may lose Zero through no fault of your own

Yes, it's quite good.

I'd even say X5 and X6 are alright.
Things didn't really get down right bad until X7, at least gameplay wise.

X5 always seemed like a budget piece of shit after playing X4. Just compare these intros, X4's is fully animated and X5's looks like some power point piece of shit.

Both are garbage.

I prefer X6 and X8.

I didn't know about e tanks or the passive upgrades so I just thought the game was ridiculously unfair

Here's my opinion.

X1 is still the best.

X2 and X4 are great! ('specially X4)

X3 and X5 are still pretty good.

And I never messed with the rest.

>hates X5's intro
>they literally rehash scenes from it for X6's

Sure thing

X4 and X5 are good

X6 and on didnt happen

Actually, the first X was on PC as well.

X4 is overrated garbage that can't hold a candle to the SNES games

X5 Opening is better just off of music alone.

I love these brackets just because of the salt they produce.
I don't care where the salt comes from because I'm an idort. But it's funny to see people care so much about their nostalgia getting BTFO.

Is this series actually good?

>X3 beating X2
jesus. I feel like nobody has played that game and just thinks playable Zero makes it good. Its a pretty shit game, while X2 is on par with X1 a lot of the time.

Imagine taking all your opinions from underage faggots on Sup Forums that hivemind everything. Really made me think for a second or two

It's okay. You can try out X5 if you want and X6 if you want to torture yourself, but otherwise you're not missing much, from a gameplay standpoint.

X7 is hot garbage and not even in a "haha Sonic '06 is so bad it's good xDDD" kind of way. It's just really bad. If you're THAT curious, I'd emulate it to mitigate the bullshit, or watch playthroughs on YouTube.

X8, on the other hand, is surprisingly solid and a sort of return to form after the previous title. You may not like the art style, but I thought it was a nice change of pace. Voice acting is actually decent too. Some of the level design is really X6-ish with the abuse of spikes, and a couple of stages are purely on ride bikes which, while dumb, aren't really a deal breaker in my book. I'd probably emulate this one too, simply out of convenience. There's a PC port too, for what it's worth.

But yeah, you could just play through X4, maybe X5, and skip straight to X8 if you really wanted to.

Yes, but the games are pretty difficult. Some would argue too much so. The Elf power up system is cool, but I'd rather just find items lying around in the stages personally. Larger emphasis on story, which is... pretty much your standard "serious" Mega Man plotline. Which is to say, it's big dumb and confusing, and poorly translated at times. Overall though, it's a great series. I'd recommend the Zero Collection on the DS, since it has Easy Mode if you don't feel like you can handle the challenge.

>MMZ games
>difficult

hahaha

Megman Zero 1 through 4 are great, and minus a few issues they're pretty much on par with the best of the X series. If you like one you should definitly play the other. Plus, it's neat to see how mega man, X, Zero, ZX, and eventually legends leads into each other.

They can be very hard if you're going for ranks, or fairly easy if you're just trying to make it through with all the tools available.

Average age on Sup Forums has been found to be roughly 23 actually

Yes.

Sup Forums used to be younger but gen z doesn't even come here or know this place exists.
That's why they're the Tumblr generation

I would ignore the haters for X7. its actually pretty good once you understand the physics and the multiple weapons was a neat idea

Really? That's quite surprising.

X4 and X5 are the GOAT X duo.

Nah, 25 here. This guy summed it up A lot of people in my age group and younger uses Tumblr, Reddit, or if they can get in, Neogaf.

From what I can tell, a lot of Sup Forums users migrated from Gamefaqs and a lot of people use Tumblr or Reddit as their first message board now instead.

X4 doesn't get enough love, and X5 catches too much shit. Legends, 8, and X4 + X5 are all good games that people seem to shit on because they're safe to hate.

>I would ignore the haters for X7

Except that game is a gigantic piece of shit that deserves everything it gets criticized for.
One or two minor good things doesn't cover the metric ton of bad things it does.

>Tfw the redub never happened

>disliking cheesy PS1 voice acting

Is there an undub at the very least?

So is Zero's story the canon story?
