2 years because plahing with the bells was more fun than the entire game

10 minutes, it was really hard to stop laughing

I dont remember any other puzzles in this game either what even was the point? I was genuinely surprised they never patched it out of the game its such a joke.

Anyone looking forward to the System Shock remake?

I love the Doom version of that image.

A minute or two. I had to pause so I could take in just how intelligent I was.

a tip for those who didn't beat this puzzle

wait a minute that card

Polygon reviewers probably had to use a walkthrough.

Best kek

What's the memeness of that challenge?

Physical fucking pain.

I was high as fuck on MXE and LSD - it took me around 5 minutes

I'm serious

Are there any videos of someone playing this well with a controller?

Stopped playing because I didn't figure it out

A simple 1 press button wouldve been quicker and less insulting to the players

That and Shock 3 with Warren Spector at the helm, finally. We're also getting a new Ultima Underworld as well. I just hope Square lets go of the Thief IP and Arkane can pick it up and do it some fucking justice.

It's not supposed to be a puzzle. It's an interactive lock. The card is the "key" to it.

>implying it wasn't intentional insult

had to look it up

How long did it take you?

was i the only one who immediately forgot about being given the card at the start of the game?

brute-forcing puzzles makes me feel clever though, so i was angry i didnt get to do it

I don't understand this meme, can someone explain it to me?

Do people bash that intro because the lock was too easy to open? Or did someone seriously non-ironically find it difficult?

Either way it's stupid since on one hand the lock wasn't there to challenge the player, just give you something to interact with beyond holding down the W key for 5 minutes until the game actually begins. On the other hand I just don't believe there could be people stupid enough to consider this a "puzzle".

Realtalk is I think it's a leftover from an early version of the game that actually had puzzles in it, and it was meant as a very simple introduction as for what to expect because later on they would actually get harder. In the end though it was the only puzzle in the entire game, even the only keypad door in the game is unlocked in a cutscene.

yea, no shit reddit

Combination should've been 451, but we don't live in a perfect world

Reviewers were praising it for being an intelligent game that only smart people would understand. Yet we got this scene.

It could have been solved by not including "Wait a minute, that card" and having your character automatically pull out a card you got not even five minutes ago. It's basically saying the player has the memory of a goldfish.

here

couldnt find the combo to the falcon/wale/snake lock in 2 diffrent places, so i spent a good 10 minutes trying every combo

wale/wale/wale wale/wale/snake wale/wale/falcon
wale/snake/wale etc

longer than it should have.

about a minute or less. this wasn't a puzzle, it was like looking at a printed map of google with directions that you literally just had to follow.

How long did it take you?

...

Reviewers and "gaming journalists" in general are retards. What else is new?

Wouldn't people bitch about the first 10 or so minutes of the game being a glorified cutscene in that case? Again, I think the bells were there just to give the player an oppurtunity to press a button, like "press E to open door" just a bit more stylized.

That video implies that someone found the "puzzle" difficult/clever. I really don't think that was the case, so I'm not sure who or what that video is supposed to be a parody of.

Years.

someone post the webm of this to make this thread less shitty

How long did it take you?

...

but how do you know which bells to ring in what order??

And this is middle of the road for controller users at best. The "controller users are braindead at shooters" meme has gone too far, it's mostly clips of apex shitters who would be just as shit with any input method.

I plug in my 360 controller for single-player shooters because it's more comfortable, KB+M is multi-only where the edge actually counts.

You mean prey? Yea I played it and it was great

Good ol Arthur Geis. How that fag keeps his job is beyond me

I like your taste user.
