all of his "interesting" theories were just stolen from places like here or reddit, which isn't bad in itself but helps to highlight how bad he is in every other way
his research is terrible, sometimes he makes awful leaps in logic that makes it seem like he hasn't even played the game he's talking about, his videos have way way too much padding (a lot of them would only be five minutes if he cut out the unfunny jokes and all the random talking about things that have nothing to do with the "theory")
and the worst part is... well, he's not funny. his voice is annoying and he's simply not funny. all of those other things can be mitigated by just having a good personality, but mat pat is intolerable. the only explanation i can think of for his popularity is that his fanbase is all children who are easily amused and would rather have his flashy and goofy presentation than the more "drab" dedicated "game analysis" channels

I do see why a lot of people wouldn't like him. He can be cringey as fuck. You can tell he honestly thinks his shit doesn't stink. For example, he calls his own series "The Smartest Show in Gaming". He's wildly inconsistent with what he allows and what he doesn't. No examples off the top of my head but it seems like sometimes he'll say stuff like, "But it's just a video game so we don't need to take such and such at face value." But then in the next video he's making physics calculations based on the comparison of sprites or models that were obviously not meant to be compared beyond "this thing is bigger than that thing". And in the last few months he's started doing the total jew thing and breaking up his videos up into three parts that release weeks apart just to make sure you come back to his channel. All that being said, I still enjoy most of his theories videos desu. Game Lab looks dumb as fuck and I won't watch a second of it.
