I used to enjoy voice chat in TF2 but the gaming community as a whole has gotten more cancerous and toxic due to esports. Nowadays with the exception of some shit where voice comms are necessary (mostly tactical games like Rising Storm, Squad, and Siege) I just mute all and don't have to listen to all the garbage.

Even my friends are complete douchebags playing anything online. I have one friend who I have to mute when we play League or I'll just get so sick of his shit I'll start doing shit to make him ragequit.
