it was pretty good, wouldn't say the best
What mods do you use to get morrowind looking like that?
But that's not dragon age 2.
i think it's a mod that turns it into a good game
...
haha very funny
The darth maul skin on the character looks pretty shit but I really dig the changes to the environment.
Just wanted to know which mods were used thats all.
Is that the PC version of fable?
I just started it up again the other day, noticed my longest playthrough was over 24 hours, most others around 13. While it didn't have EVERYTHING it was supposed to have, I can agree, it's the best RPG ever made.
Just realized from your comments that this is screenshots from morrowind. Thought it looked familiar.
Too bad the faggot OP won't tell us the mods he used
It's Gothic II
Why would you mod Skyrim to look that bad?
Trying to Morrowind up your game for nostalgias sake?
To each his own I guess.
Never heard of it.
Just use mge, keeps the original art direction while improving the graphics a ton. It even runs well on toasters.
Oh, so it's not the best RPG ever made then either.
Finally an elder scrolls thread!
How long do you think it will take for openMW to be complete? Also what unifficial patches do people use for morrowind and oblivion these days? I haven't touched these games in a decade and wouldn't mind getting back into them again.
...
>openMW to be complete
It will never be complete, as none of the previous conversions. The team will realize the futility of it and drop the project before long.
> what unifficial patches
There isn't any other than The Unofficial Patch
...
You mean The Witcher 3?
It would be the best if the bosses weren't such pushovers. You spend the whole game prepping to slay the dragons and they're less dangerous than a bunch of cave goblins.
Is this accepted as an RPG?
If so, this is THE game.
Haven't seen a more satisfactory party adventuring game since Dwarf Fortress
are there any good RPGS
This.
By the time you learn Dragonrend the dragons themselves are complete pushovers anyways, unless you're on legendary in which they are just damage sponges.
How hard will ELEX suck balls? I want to have faith, but it looks so fucking gay
ARPGs yes
CRPGs no.You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
Is Gothic 2 acceptable with English voices? I really want to understand the voices without subs in the background, even though I liked them in Gothic 1.
>no more comfy medieval country side
>we wuz machine
i'm expecting to fail,
but then i felt the same way for risen 3 and the demon hunter route in that game was a surprised 9/10
why dont you listen to them and find out for yourself
Star control 2 is very good. I wish they'd make every RPG like that - less numbers, but you still build up your character/party.
No.
All RPGs have always been power grind treadmills where the only appealing aspect is upgrading or becoming more powerful.
That's why when you become a literal god in any RPG the fun drops like a rock.
Skyrim tried to lean away from the power creep but these types of games don't work without their flawed system of gaining power without end.
>How long do you think it will take for openMW to be complete?
It's fully playable since a while ago, from here on out it's bug fixing, optimisation, improving the CS, adding new engine features, more bug fixing, etc.
not him, but kys
Sup Forums always have a lot of opinions on every game's VOs
You can't really become godlike in NOTR, you characters is always few critical hits away from getting rekt
he's back
wrong pic op
English is much better than German
There's no location in W3 with the same density of complex quests and secrets as Khorinis. It may have more stuff to do overall, but I'd rather have my butter laid thick. Also, Witcher devs cocksucked Gothic and cited it as one their main inspirations.
wait, how the fuck is that a pic from ps:T?
or even arcanum ?
am i on acid again?
But that's not Gothic 2.
>picture of Gothic II
>"that's not Gothic II"
What did he mean by this Sup Forums?
>arcanum
Is 'Arcanum is a great game' a meme now? Did you even play it, fuckface? You are aware that 90% of features in the game literally weren't programmed to work properly, right?
Who hyped here for Elex? Latest gameplay looked better than expected
well said and even though long-form RPGs were my favorite genre growing up I now pretty much see them as the pointless thing they are.
For me though, there's still enjoyment to be had in stat/power-mongering with roguelikes and roguelites. Binding of issac was damn good for one thing. I sure wish they make games like that one which aren't the ones they've made
how would it be a meme?
i played it, i think i've played it like 3-4 times now, honestly it's great about 2/3 and the last third is just mediocre.
comparing that to lets say rpg's of the last 10 years (ie 1/3 is mediocre, 2/3 is complete shit) it is is pretty amazing.
i am aware of the problems of the combat (let's face it, combat was the main issue) but since i don't really give a fuck about that, then it won't take away from the value of the game.
have you ever played a decent game btw?
I played Gothic in 2016 after Morrowind (in 2015), and holy shit, the game was amazing.
Sure the controls were very hard to get into, but after a few hours it became second nature. A shame Gothic II had some performance issues in my computer, otherwise I would have definitely given it a full ride.
oh and on top of the comment i just left, care to even explain why you hate it so much?
>inb4 so broken/combat so shit without actually saying anything
Semi old school CRPG's are good. Fallout 1/2, PsT, BG2, Ice Wind Dale etc... Most RPG's suck though.
could you tell me what made it so great?
i remember that a friend of mine really recommended it and that i tried it but i think i quit the game within 1 hour.
how much time should i spend to "get into it"?
what makes it great? etc?
this.
also there's older ones too like betrayal at krondor is pretty amazing, i honestly think it's in my top 3 RPG's of all time
What is the best tho?
I have four legs but I don't walk. There is always food on me but I never eat.
but that's not oblivion OP
this desu
Sure. But it's easier for me to explain WHY it's so different to Morrowind, which may scare you away:
- Morrowind is easily a 200+ hours game. Gothic is around 50 hours a playthrough, and that's been generous.
- In Gothic, the world is carefully pieced together. Every NPC is either unique, or has nothing to say. In Morrowind, NPCs are either "unique", or are Wikipedia-style dispensers that just clutter the game world, as you cannot be sure what kind of NPC it is until you exhaust its topics.
- Gothic's combat is far more interesting, challenging and engaging. Every creature requires different skills and approaches.
- Progression is very satisfying. Unlike in Morrowind, equipment makes a big difference in Gothic. Going from one tier to the next is literally the difference between "I can't do this" and "I'm handing that monster its ass".
- All quests are cool and fun.
- The gameworld is smaller by a considerable size, then again, all of it is hand placed as opposed to the "just fill this house with stuff, bro" style of Morrowind, where houses are virtually undistinguishable from each other, despite the amount of shit there is in them.
- It's immersive as fuck. Everything in it contributes to actual immersion as opposed to "read the books" immersion from Morrowind.
I would say "keep playing until you get used to the controls", because that's when Gothic becomes so much more fun.
Used to being dissapointed so I have no expectations. Will see how they did when it's released.
+1
That's not Mass Effect Andromeda.
Not that guy, but I'll try to shill my best.
Gothic 1 isn't great. It's a cool little RPG with a very unique atmosphere (you play as a convict thrown in a penal colony surrounded by a magical dome, which overtime grew it's own societies), insteresting storyline and likeable characters. It also gets very easy very fast.
Gothic 2 is one of the best open world games ever. The overworld is still quite small, but it's all handcrafted and natural, no part of it feels like like it was just slapped in to have an excuse for monster encounters. Almost every quest can be done in 4-5 different ways, the game ever acknowledges and rewards you with XP for sequence breaking. It's very replayable and also very hard, fucking buy it nigger.
So eat the turd til you find the chunk of corn?
It isn't the dark age of gaming anymore.
What? The game is amazing on a second playthrough because you are already used to the controls, so that problem is out of the way. It's pretty much like Dark Souls in that sense: hard to get used to it, and because it takes a while before you do get used to, the game isn't as fun in the beginning.
Is this modded?
