>EO fags still desperate enough to false flag
Sad!

What is it exactly? Looks like bootleg Kuroshitsuji with a ghost waifu instead of a demon butler.

quick review?

Except like every review says, it's a broken game with horrible graphics, a boring over complicated battle system, and predictable bland story with uninspired characters.

Every reviewer is giving it a 6-8 out of 10 with a few outliers giving it a 4.

The only thing I've seen is people complain about the battle system which isn't intuitive and a few who talk about how shallow the 512 recruitable side characters are which is expected anyway

No, everyone is giving it 4/10 with only two people giving it 6/10 and others 2/10.

>Lying out your ass because you're sad over EOV
Sad!

This game is really cool. Really stylish, good sense of humor, interesting combat if you give it a chance. Definitely will be considered an underrated gem in a few years. Its biggest problem is having the localization come out so soon after Persona 5.

This. With one of the selling points being "from the one who wrote Persona 1 and 2!" it's hard not to compare Caligula to Persona 5 despite them being barely related to one another.
It's like comparing League to Overwatch because they both have abilities and an ultimate

What's sad is your feeble attempt to say this game is good by poating shills that Atlas paid instead of real reviews.

What about it being on the vita instead of a relevant console. Note: I love my vita

WHY IS EVERY DUNGEON SO UNNECESSARILY LONG?

I've been been stuck in the library for two hours and the game decided to remove all my party members and I have to get them back one at a time

you're not supposed to fight every single encounter

Sure sure every person that disagrees with you is a paid shill. This has nothing to do with you just being butthurt about EOV.

Thinking about buying it for Tadashi. How bad does it run?

Vita is where where it was originally released and only on the vita. AtlusUSA doesn't port games.

it was a budget title done by the people who did the SAO games and it already sold ~60k units worldwide so they're pretty set.

2 fps. It's really bad.

15 second loadtimes between zones, pop in when you first load is a jerk so you end up running into an enemy

15-20 fps game you're choice of running through bland hallways

I just beat this game yesterday. It was a complete waste of my time and I say that as a huge P1fag.

It doesn't run well but it doesn't chug either.

Yes they are paid shills. Anyone can clearly see this is an in competently made game.
And what the fuck is this EOV shit you keep bringing up?

>How bad does it run?

Not bad outside of some parts of the game which dips below 15fps for a second or two.
Played it earlier today and those who say it runs worse than that probably played the unpatched JP version. The NA version comes patched

I've only heard of one of those sites.

>Atlus caring about a budget Vita title done as a pet project by the Persona writer
Boy you're reaching pretty far to make this game look worse than it really is.

>what the fuck is this EOV shit
Something that will NEVER EVER come to the rest you salty drone

I have a love/hate relationship with this game's soundtrack, it does that thing where you only hear the instrumentals there are vocals during combat

Songs are nice but you end up listening to them for 45 minutes

So you're ignorant and refuse to elaborate your points. You're the drone here.

This is my only real complaint with the game.
The combat is great once you get the hang of things and it runs fine, but the dungeons can end up taking forever at times so the BGM can be grating after two hours of looping.
I wish they could have had a few variations or something. I know the game is based around evil vocaloids and vocaloid music being a plot point but damn

>Implying you even have a real argument to refute
Saying "this is bad and everybody agrees with me!" and then crying shill when you're BTFO'd doesn't help make your shit opinion a fact. Keep crying while Atlus brings over Utawarerumono and Dungeon Travelers 2-2 because EOV will be NEVER EVER

>Paid reviews
>Vita exclusive

??????
I would understand if it was PS4 but literally nobody would do it for the Vita. Not to shit on the Vita as a platform but even if it became a hit due to the paid reviews it wouldn't sell as much as a normal PS4 game would. It's pretty retarded to think otherwise m8

vita still gets new games?

This, also why would they buy 7/10 reviews?

So you simply refuse to be logical because you got BTFO and can't handle the truth about how shit this game is. Go suck on Tadashi Satomi's cock.

The more I play this the more I wish it had a normal battle system.
Like I do the same combo every time, it gets really fucking old, along with the music.
Other than that, I like the artstyle and the story is interesting enough for now.

Only terrible ones and terrible ports.

>story is interesting
Thanks for the laugh

>n-no u!
Like pottery. Keep crying you pathetic drone

>for now
nigger I'm like 2 hours in

I didn't even play the game but god damn you're a total retard
You need to learn when it's time to give up and close the thread

And it's boring and predictable as all hell after the first 15 minutes.

I wish the same to be honest.
The battle system is fun but I wish it could be toggled or something for mob fights. Or at the very least auto-battle or something.
It's like doing every single encounter in a Final Fantasy game with Sephiroth's world-destroying attack

a strange as fuck RPG

it also has a game breaking save bug if you save in a Paradio area.

and by IGN logic, if a bug like that exists the game is automatically shit

No she got BTFO'd and refuses to admit it like the shill she is.

That game-breaking bug is still surprising to me as it was well-known in the JP release. Even though it's easily avoided as the save point before the area boss is the only one that fucks things up, it still shouldn't have existed in the NA version.

Take your shills and get the fuck out.

>doesn't fight every encounter he comes across
>in a fucking RPG
bruh

It's a shit game, they knee no one would buy this crap so there was no need to fix it.

I did this for the first dungeon and it took me seven hours
They respawn in a few minutes too. It's like trying to fight every monster in an MMO

can you elaborate? Where does this even happen?

>reddit spacing
leave

at least I was made aware so every time before I play the game I load my save to the cloud

>And what the fuck is this EOV shit you keep bringing up?
Etrain Odyssey V. He thinks anyone shitting on this game is someone who is mad at Atlus for not bringing that over.

There's a bug in the Paridio area where if you save at the save point before the boss you lose all your saves and can't save from that point on either. It's a seriously massive bug and even though you can just backtrack a minute or two to save, it still shouldn't have existed in the NA version. It's only the save point before the dungeon boss in the Paradio area that does this.

>no one would buy this crap
Then why are you making threads about it? Vita exclusive and digital only -- it was a niche title on a niche system and it already sold ~50k sales world-wide which is already good enough considering the budget.

Is this thread some reverse shilling?
I don't see the need to bring it up if the game is bad. Even moreso if the game is a bad Vita title where the fanbase probably knew of the shortcomings months before it even released

People will still buy it though. Plenty of shitty games that gets shilled by certain people.

>There's a bug in the Paridio area where if you save at the save point before the boss you lose all your saves and can't save from that point on either.
What in the fresh fuck?

This is almost Soul Calibur III levels of awful game breaking.

>Plenty of shitty games that gets shilled by certain people
I think the only times I've seen Caligula talked about is when Sup Forums tries to shit on it.

Caligula is good. Game is too complex for game "journalist".

whats with this EOV stuff?

When Caligula released tons of people were crying on Atlus' twitter page and forums asking why that was localized and not Etrian Odyssey. The same thing is happening to Utawarerumono to a lesser extent.

She point out how wrong you were & yet you keep crying about it & saying Atlus, a company that didn't even make the game, bad for a Vita title to have 6-7's on reviews. This is truly your saddest moment.

EO5 is pretty buggy anyways. Not like it sells much better than caligula sold.

Fags are upset because Caligula got localized instead of Etrian Odyssey V. While I agree Caligula is mediocre, I won't lose sleep over my dungeon loli game not coming to America for another 8 months.

Go into Vita general and they will be praising every new game coming out of Japan.

The Vita is my falcom machine these days.

>Go into Vita general and they will be praising every new game coming out of Japan.

No one if vitagen cares about caligula, even persona general talks more about caligula.

I go to vitagen regularly and it's barely talked about. The ones who do talk about it mostly list some minor inconveniences or briefly say what they like but otherwise there isn't discussion there.
This thread alone contains more talk about the game than vitagen ever had

Not shitting on a game doesn't automatically mean they're praising it. Even on release day people there were talking about the iffy battle systems and listing everything out objectively as possible, or at least not excluding negatives. Plus it's digital only which means most didn't pick it up yet or are waiting on a sale.

>vitagen likes caligula

These people have no idea what they are talking about. vitagen is no physical no buy the rest are pirates.

>Not like it sells much better than caligula sold.
Check those sales figures again m8. Nearly every Etrian property doubled what Caligula has so far, and it's so niche that it won't be pushing any more sales any time soon.

0x2 = 0

Glad I learned Japanese and don't need to be salty about x getting localized over y.

Even if I use VGChartz the sales only go up to 70k.
That's not bad for a niche title even by Vita standards. Still easily outsold by EO games, but I think they would have made more money with Caligula due to the stupidly-cheap dev costs giving them profit from the ~5k unit sales mark onward. Atlus probably expects Utawarerumono to sell around 50k on Vita too.

>Utawarerumono to sell around 50k on Vita too.
Pretty sad but probably

>released June 23, 2016
>Worst game of 2017
What did he mean by this?

Different expectations for different fanbases. They already sold well enough in JP with those numbers and hope to sell just under the same amount in NA. The Vita is home to actual niche titles where 50k is a goal and 5k is enough to cover costs, although in Utawarerumono's case they needed 100k units across both Mask of Truth and Mask of Deception to consider it a success, which barely happened in Japan on Vita.

Can I play it with Henkaku or is it another one of those games you need latest firmware?

Stop parroting shit, you don't know what you are talking about. The 5k line is for japanese indie devs that go digital only like the Touhou ones.

I'm not sure. I think you need the latest firmware since it was released really late last year

You need current firmware.

>The 5k line is for japanese indie devs that go digital only like the Touhou ones.

Did you even read the rest of my post? I even specified that it didn't apply to Utawarerumono. Also, most titles do indeed only need ~10k units to go pure profit and are regularly built around such a budget.

Did you read my post? I never mention uta2. You are presenting the 5k line as if it's true for most vita games when that simply isn't the case.

Thanks OP, was waiting for the english patch not even sure if i want it anymore
