It's genuinely 10/10, but I think I like the first game's OST a bit more personally.

That's a funny way of spelling Jet Set Radio Future

No. That's not Tony Hawk 2.
ARE YOU READY TO GO?

bayonetta's is better and by the same company

Except the guy who did the work on the Soundtrack isn't from Platinum. And no, Bayonetta's sound track is a shit.

the only thing shit is your taste

I like both Automata and the original. Drakengard 3 is good too.

Its up there along with Silent Hill 2

It is amazing but the choirs are not as strong here.

Nothing in the game has topped Snow in Summer.

It's pretty excellent, but I think nier's is better, especially the piano renditions

HOLY FUCK

>was about to post link to nier OST youtube link which worked fine a few days ago
>now it's copyright content blocked by squenix

These fucking jews

They didn't give a shit about the OST being on youtube for fucking years

Post em boyz

I honestly wish Copied City had been a longer zone just so I could have an excuse to listen to that track as many times as I could

But my favourite track might be youtube.com/watch?v=Tk8w1cw6xSI
I've listened to it so many times, it's ridiculous

>no mention of HM

Still the king of vidya OSTs, always and forever

I..I liked the OST of Bravely Default better.

>keep hearing about how great it is
>look it up on youtube
>it's shit

I don't know why I even pay attention to what Sup Forums says anymore.

its just some obese tarofags you should always avoid

first game's soundtrack was better

it's good but the new singer ruins it

Automata's OST is forgettable and the only good tracks are ones from the first game.

Nier is a definite contender for best soundtrack though.
youtube.com/watch?v=LMf-kDeAYCY

>new singer
Isn't she the same singer from the first one?

NieR has a better OST, but Automata's is still 10/10.

It's because the IP is valuable now. Take it as a good sign, or not, square could drive it into the ground and probably will.

the other one obviously

>tfw she starts wailing

Is she black? The singer sounds black.

yes
its always made me wonder how people can tell if someone is fat or black just because of their voice

I only picked up on it in the credits when she's actually singing English.

I really hope you're referring to J'Nique Nicole, because Nami Nakagawa is amazing

I was expecting to be blown away by the music in this game base on the reviews and word of mouth that it has been getting but after playing it for a while now there is nothing special or memorable to it. I actually cringed when I heard the little girl singing in the village of the machines which triggered the word on my mind "so try hard" for the feels. To me it is really trying drastically to be dramatic which is not really needed.

Aside from that, I don't like the gameplay and I am also not a fan of the boring side quests. I am not that far but I hope that this game will improve because i have bought the game, so i'm forced to keep playing this.

>J'Nique
Fairly obvious from the name alone.

In both games the music really is nothing special. People really overrate it to gain hipster cred when in reality it becomes incredibly tedious listening to the same loop over and over in both games. Yahtzee was the only one to rightfully point this out but no one else ever does.

>"so try hard" for the feels
>I don't like the gameplay
>boring side quests

You have no taste

I do like J'Nique as well though, she's really good in the desert song. Nami just has a very special tone that beats out everything else. That fucking range.

>He thinks the Machine Village song is bad

Maximum shit taste, holy god damn

Everyone on this board has autism so they love repetitive shit.

See, this is why I'm becoming increasingly sour to the series. Idiots like you can't take criticism in a series generally renowned for being at best mediocre. Automata really was only great in comparison to the other games. The combat was incredibly simplistic, the music nothing special and the characters fairly dull compared to the first game. It's like you're defending it purely based on reputation alone when Taro's games especially should be subject to criticism.

I can't even talk about this game anymore without feeling disgusted by the memeing faggots in all those threads.

It was cringeworthy though, they could do better

I agree with you about the game, I just really like the Machine Village song a lot.

I wonder how many got to listen to Emil's despair in-game, it really took that fight to another level.

Why does every Platinum game have "the greatest X ever" according to fans but be painfully mediocre to any objective party? What effect could possibly cause this?

Is it just me or did the game start running worse for anyone else the further you got into the game? Played it on PS4 by the way.

How is it unironically the best?
I just is the best soundtrack of all time you pleb.

>the average Sup Forumsirgin unironically believes that spewing "cringe", "try-hard" or other buzzwords is worthwhile criticism and gets upset at "fanboys" when he is told to fuck off
Wew.

Best, Even has the devs in the background towards the end.
youtube.com/watch?v=QXb3p28DG1E

Both the original Nier and Automata have god tier OST's. Okabe is a miracle worker

Worst track coming through.

youtu.be/7GobTfc8L3Q

>my face I still can't listen to Weight of the World (Japanese version) due heartache every time

you're welcome

FF7 best use soundtrack, but shitty soundtrack.
Nier Automata is on the top.

I liked the first city ruins theme, that soft, minimalist piano theme. Been trying to look for it but can't seem to find it anywhere.

He really let himself go

I think this is the only recent game in memory that Sup Forums likes. Surprising, considering it's japanese and nu-Sup Forums hates japan

>just finished ending E
Fucking hold me, lads. I was skeptical after how underwhelming ending A was, but wow.

What the fuck do I do now though, my saves are gone, but I heard you can fight Emil so I guess play everything again?

>Worst
kys you're are self my man
>when the singer chokes up at the end

Persona and Nier are tied for best OST this year so far

>english and japanese Weight of the World are inherently different in their lyrics
>my face reading the lyrics
>my face it fits as a plot summary for 2B and the events of post-Ending E

>tfw this game didn't impact me at all

I really wanted to like this game and even tried to fool myself but it just didn't leave an impression on me. None of the music hit me either.
I'm probably broken.

No? It has only one reaaally good song, the rest is just average at best

I dont know what the fuck is wrong with you guys these days, honestly

>May your drowned consciousness... Gently disappear...

>And so we right now
>Ah, even though it's worthless, I still cry out
>The song of that broken world
>And so we right now
>Ah, even though it's meaningless, I still wish
>For a future together with you

>And so we right now
>Ah, even though it's worthless, I still cry out
>The love of this filthy world
>And so we right now
>Ah, even though it's meaningless, I still wish
>For more time together with you

I swear Taro planned everything out including concert.

Nah, it's just super over hyped and you had your expectations put way too high for what is a relatively shallow ARPG. It's certainly no Bayo or Rising. Hell, it's barely on par with Kingdom Hearts.

you know the worst thing

this feeling of emptiness won't go away

automata essentially reset my expectations I have of games now and whenever I try playing something else now I just lose interest immediately

I preordered and played it on release, I also played NieR, I knew what I was getting. It's not a platinum game.

But yeah I was sort of hyped, which is why I wanted to like it. It was the same way for the first NieR, which just makes me think I'm just broken.

Start again and play through the game
It should take you 25 hours max cause you know how to do everything
Eh, don't worry about it, you'll find a game that makes you feel like anons feel about this game
>opinions

>Grimoirr Weiss skin doesn't change into Noir and Rubrum when switching to Pod B and C
dropped

im gonna get shat on for saying this, but im not a big fan of the music of jsrf. they just went way too overboard with it and it comes off as weird and obnoxious.

Honestly I like the first one more but that's probably because I've had it in my playlists for years. Automata's is top tier too.

i wonder if we will ever get a ff game that stays true to amanos artworks- it would look like a moving painting.

>likes the OST
>doesn't buy it
The quality is dope too

What language are the songs ?

>Does Nier Automata have unironically the greatest video game soundtrack of all time?
No, of course not.

Best OST of all time is probably FFXIV (I dislike the game if anything). The sheer number of 10/10 tracks and the range of genres is insane.

I feel like just having Song of the Ancients on Nier's arsenal is essentially cheating. Okabe did a one-of-a-kind tune with that, and nothing he'll make next surpasses it. Automata, as a whole, still has better OST I feel.

> Evans wrote songs in versions of Scottish Gaelic, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, English and Japanese, and wrote "Song of the Ancients" in an entirely fictional language. She wrote that song by listening to songs in as many languages as possible and jumbling them up together. For the other languages, she tried to imagine what they would sound like after 1000 years of drifting.[2]

Its good, but personally chrono trigger and ff7 have the best soundtracks for me.. Granted i havent played every single game in the existent so its forever changing.

Pretty much, i had high expectations for this because of original nier, but this game is just dissapointment after dissapointment, i eventually drop this on the second playthrough/route b
the characters and the world feels really bland and uninteresting, the plot are kinda dumb too

>mfw I would just sit in the village just to listen to the song
Welp, looks like I have shit taste

> she tried to imagine what they would sound like after 1000 years of drifting.[2]

That's interesting. I thought some were in french but couldn't understand a single word. That must be why

Well, Persona 5 came out last year.

Why do you people keep shilling this overrated turd?

FFXV had some good ones

youtube.com/watch?v=J-0TcwJT4go

>My face I didn't even realize when you fought Engels/YoRHa betrayers that only the instrumental version of Song of the Ancients played
I guess being dumb has it's upsides considering it blew me the fuck away when you went to the Tower to hack it and D&P appeared.

Post despair:
youtube.com/watch?v=AzdNqDHpNWo&ab_channel=Belzifer

PC tards tend to overrate and overhype recent console ports.

I don't think it's the PCfags.

youtube.com/watch?v=ZNJ6LO1QIyk

youtube.com/watch?v=SGUeKCA5p1A

I hate that the singer runs out of breath and they didn't edit it out.

...

I love how she's basically in tears by the end of it much like me ;_;

I'm sure it was done on purpose considering the song reflects 2B in post-Ending E with 9S not waking up.

I like pretty much every track in Automata but they're more actiony while original Nier was more ballad-y.

There was however this gem
youtube.com/watch?v=4gIgl6su7lg

>those drums
So good

it doesn't help that the Hegel fight plays the instrumental version and you can listen to it on the jukebox before the fight

>Simplistic combat
>Generic repetiive enemies
>Bullet hell segments get tiresome after a few hours
>Looks and plays like a PS2 game
>Need to grind 40+ hours to get the full story which is supposedly good
>Story is literal tumblr-tier faggotry

You people have the worst taste. I'm glad I pirated this piece of shit.

>9S not waking up
I thought the pods rebuilt them? I guess the lyrics say it didn't work out for him?

but muh buttocks

>people too poor to buy games are also too intellectually poor to appreciate them
Like pottery

>muh 2deep4u story
Read a book faggot.

Fuck you, game refugee.

XIV's are good to play outside the game while Automata's are good to play in game. Sophia theme is so good but it doesn't fit the gameplay. The only songs that are not only good, but executed well were KOTR and Nidhogg's.

Automata's execution is next level. My first playthrough was breathtaking. Become as Gods, Wretched Machinery and Simone themes gave the players a feeling of dread. They are not so good to play standalone but are excellent in game

2B is the first to wake up and tries to find a logic virus cure trying to wake him up. After she did everything possible she realizes he will never wake up again while crying
.
You could say that the song ties directly into 9S waking up after the end of the song when all her hope was lost.
