It was a pretty cool RO clone. I played a fox girl because she had glasses. The servers are down unfortunately.
are we drilling holes?
This game had a great Artstyle and Soundtrack. It worked so well together, it's a shame that the game had nothing gong for it in the gameplay department though. Very shallow, SAD!
I remember there being a Sup Forums guild. Broke up almost instantly as soon as one of the members proclaimed they were a girl and started whoring out.
>Dat soundtrack

>only 4 stats
>two of them are "Charm" and "Sense"
Why.
Was it actually running on the same engine as RO or did they just make a really convincing clone?
Are you blind, there are 12 stats, they're just grouped in 4 groups
what a trickster
I quit that shit after a day of grinding. Shit sucked balls.
Unlikely, since Gravity made their own engine from scratch. Ntreev was and probably still is a competing studio.
...
Trickster had good animation. It was apart of the journey to finding a game to replace RO, though. I'm sure we only played Trickster for a month tops.
apparently there are a few private serves out there
i wonder if it's worth it just for the nostalgia
Why'd you even bring RO up if it was apart?
its on steam now but still pretty terrible, i'd be fun with friends but impossible to convince anyone to play it
Are there any mmo Sup Forums is collectively playing right now?
I loved looking up sprites for this game. That's about it.
I remember years ago, around the time Trickster got popular, there was suppose to be a Korean anime based on it, but it never came out.
Sheep best girl
You're wrong, but that's okay.
And I was right
The game probably wouldn't have been cancelled if the show was made.
I loved how the spells looked in Trickster, the magic arrow and the magic rings especially.
What a shame...
This game was comfy af. wasnt it p2w though?
Not so much childhood but I played this shit all the time in my mid-teens. I almost regret every moment.
yes. very p2w
Sheep > Bunny > Fox > Cat
Lion > Dragon > Raccoon > Buffalo
>Check if there are any private servers
>Only 1 server still running
>Its active as fuck and last update was 7th of May
F-Fuck
Should I dive in again?
>play Lion, friend plays Dragon
>tells me all the time how shit Lions are and how they do no damage
>reach lvl 150+
>Do more damage than him
>he quits because the game is now shit
Wow there mate, share. My old wounds are aching again.
Going to school isn't a fucking job, weeb.
It's amazing how active it still is. I got a Third Class for the first time on it. And I'm close to another. They're also beta testing the 9th character since they got their hands on the code for her. I think it's buggy though, I'm not following too closely.
I played Trickster when it first released with my brother, and man it was buggy. But it was pretty fun still. And still is.
>actually wanted for trickster 2 just to see other characters
Kinda sucked that it died that fast
Oh shit I thought Nexon flushed this for good, I was a big fan of this back in the day and loved to style with the big ass robo suit for Alchemists.
This was a real nostalgia burner for me, I got catfished for the first time on this game.
yeah the alchemists did have the coolest exo cores i really liked the guns they had, i'm honestly surprised its lasted this long, must be enough people paying for in game items for it to stay afloat. it'd be cool if they could get some new blood into the game but seems that the current status of the game being super niche and non beginner friendly makes that hardly feasible
>non beginner friendly
Haha you just reminded me how huge of a shitter trap Street style is for newbies, figuring they can finally ditch their default style for something decently cheap but not knowing it's actually straight worse than Default until it's too late.
>childhood
Now I feel old
But yes Trickster Online was based.
Never played much of this. Forum I was part of decided to start playing but nearly everybody gave up within a week.
I remember playing as a Raccoon but not much else.
Forum was too busy playing Urban Dead instead and trying to make Grigg Heights a safe area.
yeah they at least give you free temp scrolls as you level up and a free perm scroll when you hit level 15 but even so people with money can get way more bullshit op scrolls and exos
My body is ready
That sounds a little nicer than it used to be, I'm not sure how the new version's marketplace is but in the Nexon one they never gave a free permanent Scroll out and had specific cores/scrolls that required OOC currency, and some that required large large amounts of IC currency instead and interestingly enough a lot of the bullshittier stuff came from the IC currency options.
I just loved all the wrestling based scrolls myself because K+G command throws were so much fun to cancel out of slide into.
pro wrestling and lucha libre were definitely alot of fun. there are decent in game currency scrolls now but the real money items are exceed them in both quality and quantity
I loved trickster as a free RO clone.
Also Grand Chase, anyone remember that shit?
Yeah, the meta's evolved quite a bit since the days of Martial Arts Soul juggling I imagine, lotta crazy fucking cores with crazy fucking projectiles to spam
I admit I sank my own share of mommybux into the original myself before I really got into it, Blue Iron Suit, Caudecus and the Muscle Buster scroll vastly increased my results and enjoyment
Level 400 Dark Lord here
The game was alright. I feel as if it would be dramatically better if it just gave us some WASD movement and a lot more freedom to wander around the world, which was really fun and expansive, but turned itself into a theme park after Megalopolis. I just didn't want to make an alt after that, because I could raid bosses forever until the low level restrictions.
Fox > Dragon > Cat > Bunny > Raccoon > Lion > Buffalo > Sheep
can't blame you there i remember countless times asking my parents to buy me these so i could get the real money scrolls and exos
