You don't seriously think it's coming, do you?

You don't seriously think it's coming, do you?

idk i dont feel like nintendo would let it happen but what do i know

The rumor's been around for so long now it seems likely, its right in line with Sony and Nintendo's practices too. Sony wants the west and Nintendo wants Japan.

>monhun exclusive to consoles
Fucking no. They'll get Frontier and they'll like it.

Yeah and Bayonetta 3 isn't a Nintendo Exclusive

It's Capcom.
I think everyone couple years they decide to do something completely unexpected just to fuck with the world.

Thinking it's based off that rumor that was posted around here a couple months back is dumb though.

Nah, it's just hopeful thinking.
Nintendo's giving capcom and the MH team the monetary and platform support Sony didn't.

Ties are too close now for them to go back, MH is seen now as a Nintendo thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch was made with MH in mind.

But then why'd they make BOTW a western style game and why is Mario Odyssey more Western Theme'd?

>capcom putting their handheld cash cow exclusively on consoles
yeah okay

Sony will never get another MH game. It's done incredibly well on Nintendo, there is no reason to go back.

It's already confirmed a hoax in the original Japanese 'source'.

And even if that wasn't the case;

>MH
>Only on a console

Yeah right

The switch wasn't made with any game in mind. The thing is a dumpster fire or ergonomics.
And if I have to pay for online anyway, I'd rather pay the guys who give my a couple of games every month to balance it out and have more than 1 multiplayer game worth playing.

>The switch wasn't made with any game in mind

PC and PS4 crossplay or I'm done with the series.

To put it in a nutshell if this rumor is true and it is open world with no timers for PS4, then this is the end of the series.

Its going to be on switch.

I don't care what it's on, just put it on a fucking console. If Sega decides to make the Jupitercast and MH is exclusive to that I'll fucking buy one

JUST PUT IN ON A CONSOLE, ANY CONSOLE

3DS FUCKING SUCKS

What game actually utilizes the Switch's unending gimmicks in any interesting way?
Is 1 2 Switch the magnum opus of the console?
Because the fucking thing is terribly designed to give you cramps in 5 seconds unless you use the Pro controller.

Christ I a PS4 Monster Hunter would fucking rule. It will never happen though because nips only want to play on their fucking gameboys. I would wish on a Gennie for this to be true, but there is no way. Especially with the Switch being a 2in1 system, its one of their strongest remaining system sellers. Hell, I have accepted that Im going to have to shell out close to 400 bucks to finally play a monster hunter that doesnt also give me fucking eye cancer to look at. Fucking 3ds with 240p.

>unending gimmicks
What, its just a handheld that can be plugged into a tv, it has the same gimmicks as all the other systems, touch input, motion control, what ever.

This. Monhun on 3DS is a fucking travesty, not only it looks like shit because of that awful hardware, the controls are so terrible it makes my hands hurt after an hour of gameplay.

Is there any way to play Portable 3rd HD in english on my PS3? I know there's a patch but I can't seem to find concrete info

>Meanwhile MHXX on 3ds only
>Christ knows we aren't getting MH5 until christmas NEXT year at the earliest

>Huahahaha!!! like MonHun would ever go back to the filthy phony gaystation said the increasingly neverous babyman for the seventh time.

I'm not a poor console warrior so I don't care what system it comes out on as long as it comes out.

Capcom convinced Nintendo to increase the main RAM on the Switch up to 4GB so they could port RE Engine onto the thing (it was probably going to be 3GB at first like the Nvidia Shield). Capcom are also responsible for all the Pro controllers and Circle Pad add ons Nintendo have been making since the Wii.

They are the one 3rd party Nintendo listen to in regards to hardware development. Some kind of Monster Hunter is happening on Switch. Whether it's MH5 or Portable/Freedom 5 remains to be seen.

I think Sony might be unveiling a new portable this E3 and that will be the flagship title.
Capcom's contract with Nintendo ended and they only left Sony because they didn't want to add petty shit they ended up adding to the later MH games anyway.

It's possible.

Idort here, I don't give a shit one way or the other.

I'd rather the series be dead in the ground than go open world with bullshit western influences.
I hope those japs pull the same thing they did with DQ9 if this is true.
I don't want to lose this franchise just because Americans don't know how to play.

So PS4 is the NCR and Nintendo is the Legion?

Oh god the fucking hand pain. I loved MH4 so much but god damn it that n3ds would just fucking dig into my right palm. Fuck that piece of shit, Im glad I sold it so quickly.

>I think Sony might be unveiling a new portable this E3 and that will be the flagship title.
Sony doesn't stand a chance against Nintendo. It would die even faster than the Vita.

I don't care. I just want those japanese small publishers to still have a place to go after the Vita is completely obsolete.
They can't flourish on the Switch like they did on the Vita.

Besides, I think there's a market for a no frills handheld without a bunch of overpriced gimmicks. If they made it affordable and didn't make you use proprietary cards, it could very well take the wind off the Switch's sails.
Their biggest hurdle with the vita was always price.

I don't think thats the case at all, a no gimmick handheld would just bug some people since gyro and touch are still popular, and even then Nintendo handhelds sell mainly on the fact that they generally have a strong nintendo line up with Pokemon killing most of the momentum anyone else ever gains.
3DS was full of gimmicks but it still sold despite what you say.

It's been the same debunked rumor every time though.

>They can't flourish on the Switch like they did on the Vita.
I knew Vita fags were delusional but jesus christ

It would be nice but I'm not THAT deluded

But mainline Monster Hunter still hasn't gone back to PlayStation, what point are you trying to make?

>Implying anyone with a switch is interested in Panty Quest 7: The search for T-Back

The vita had a ridiculous attach rate and even with small sales publishers managed to recoup costs and garner enough interest for sequels.
You just can't say the same for the 3DS. Unless you sold at least half a million copies on the 3DS, your game was buried in a sea of obscurity. Vita games could get by selling 10 thousand.

>The vita had a ridiculous attach rate
It's not hard to do that if you only sold 2 million Vitas.
>You just can't say the same for the 3DS.
The Switch isn't like the 3DS.

Touch and gyro is a given since it was on the Vita too and is on all the cellphones.
I'm more condemning the detachable joycons and all the design flaws that come with them.
And they could actually sell the cable that connects the portable to the TV this time instead of making the damn PS Vita TV.

The only way the Switch isn't like the 3DS is that games are more expensive to make since they have to be HD. How does that help?

The removeabale joy cons are fine, there everything the PS Move and the Wiimote should have been, all the functionality of a normal controller but as separate motion devices.

Personally, I care about it being more on Switch, mainly because after playing through the entirely of Persona 5 in front of my TV sitting in my chair, I missed just being able to lie in bed and game away like I did with Persona 4 Golden.
I think we can definitely see it coming to consoles, though I'd be disappointed it if it was only for PS4.

I mean, if you already have a vita, you could just have streamed the game to it from your PS4. It's a bit laggy at times, bit it works fairly well.

I can't stand the Vita streaming shit, I did it once for Persona 5 and never again.

I don't like how MH feels on Vita, Switch has a better handheld layout personally.

>How does that help?
It helps because people wouldn't buy 240p garbage anymore in 2017. It helps that it isn't like the 3DS, it helps that it's region free, it helps that Switch isn't anything like the 3DS.

People also forget that the 3DS didn't support any modern engines outside of MT Framework.

>mid - high
LMAO
Even if that rumor comes true then mh5 is gonna suck dick and switch will have the better game.

Why can't it come to both Ps4/5 and Switch? Makes sense if Capcom wants to expand the branding.

I think it'd be stupid to lock the franchise on a non-portable system.

I just want Capcom to do parallel Jap/Worldwide releases.

Option A) sell some millions on the Switch
Option B) sell some millions on the PS4
Option C) sell a lot of millions on both

So when are we getting an XBox1 Monster Hunter?

>Nintendo wants Japan.

Ah yes, so they release a new console with Zelda, a game that isn't even that popular in Japan but hugely popular in the west.

Bravo Nintendo.

Scalebound got cancelled so never.
>People make fun of other consoles having no games
>Xbox literally has no games

ARMS

Maybe when the systems sells more than 5 units in Japan.

The problem has almost never been what system to release it on as long as there's a handheld version, the problem to Capcom is that people in the west want MH to stop being MH.

Sorry you have shitty hands.

>implying we won't get Monster Hunter Zero before we get 5

>Implying everyone won't just be using regular controls instead of the gyro shit

Why? If you use normal controls you cant curve one punch while throwing another one.

I'm thinking it'll be like Splatoon where you get wrecked if you don't use motion controls in the game.

I fucking hate having non-gyro's on my team in that game.

And we all see what happens when MH stops being MH.

Not really the point in question. And you would say the same shit about Splatoon, but you would be wrong.

hopefully japs do what they did when dragon quest almost became an action game and send the devs dead cats.

>open world
>removing missions
pls no

All games use the switch main gimmicks, which is the whole point of the system.
On the last two generations, nintendo relied on the creativity of the game industry to use the gimmicks they created in intelligent and innovative ways to turn their systems into an unique experience.
Which ended as well as trying to use a hamster to plow fields.
So, with the switch, the idea is that the developers just do the fuck they always do except with improved rumble support, and the gimmick requires no creativity whatsoever to use.

No, japs love their portable monhun and capcom is gonna keep giving it to them, whether its on the switch or the 3ds again. Hopefully we get the switch title, because its at least a compromise

Motion controls will be superior. I know it's not what you people want to believe or hear, but I promise you it'll be true.

Monster Hunter Alpha in the West.

ice cubes

You're done with the series

The rumor was confirmed to be a hoax, but it keeps getting reposted by retards trying to stir up shit here. Either way, it's certainly possible MonHun will come to PS4, because we have no clue what kind of exclusivity deal Capcom and Nintendo had. I'm very doubtful MonHun 5 will be PS4 exclusive however, as missing out on their Japanese fanbase would be pissing away money and I doubt they'd capture a large enough Western fanbase to make up the difference. MonHun is big on handhelds for a reason.

Even if it does I'm burned out of MH, unless 5 adds some truly noteworthy stuff instead of being a Super MH4XXU2ndG II turbo ARCADE&Knuckles: The Ringed Hunterers stories Edition, I won't care even if it get on a PS5 or PC.

It will be better for anyone if it does end up on multiple platforms, everybody wins.

Part of me doubts there was ever an exclusivity deal and that was just started because people really didn't understand why Capcom didn't make MH Vita which was pretty obvious at the time.

Not to mention the fact that MH has sold the most on Nintendo consoles/handhelds, and Nintendo has been kind enough to give the series a home for however many years now while Sony's shown disinterest in the series as a whole.

It's either 3DS/Switch or Switch/PS4 (possibly xbone/pc).

I could see Capcom trying to squeeze one more generation out of their 3DS assets, since that's the only system with a decent Japanese install base, and I'm not sure they want to take big risks with their financial pillar.

They could decide to go all-in and finally do a big upgrade for Switch/PS4/etc, but that would be very expensive. It would be a gamble, to say the least.

I think PS4 exclusivity is out of the question. Sony would need a moneyhat far outstripping Nintendo's offer, and frankly I don't see it being worth it for them. The PS4 does not need Monster Hunter, and it would be of little help to PS4's Japanese sales since console MonHun never did amazingly there, and the rumor says MH5 is being westernized anyway.

Not that anyone should believe the rumor. Predicting XX's game is not an achievement; user just followed the same logic Capcom's executives did. "Hmm, XX sounds better than GX. Let's go with XX."

Capcom will use the 3DS assets regardless of system, they will just throw in some new lighting effects.

Not sure about the sales part, but it's possible that Nintendo may be covering some bases for Capcom which may end up in a net profit for them

>Tip from a user that's been right before
Wut? Did it come from a tripfag or are they bullshitting?

Its pretty much confirmed Nintendo is covering the costs, otherwise they wouldn't help at all with marketing or host events.

I think PSP Monhun was the best selling, but PSP/DS really outsold the Vita/3DS generation so it's not really a fair comparison.

Freedom 3 is still the highest selling MH to date and I'm sure Nintendo being "kind" to the series has nothing to do with it making them a huge ass profit in console sales.

In a scenario where there's a 3DS version, of courshe.

But in the unlikely hypothetical scenario where they for some reason decide to go all-in on consoles and skip the 3DS, they couldn't get away with continuing to use 3DS assets. It would defeat the purpose of moving to next-gen systems. They'd need new assets. Which is partly why this hypothetical scenario is unlikely.

Nintendo publishes the series in Europe, and seems to provide some kind of assistance in NA.

>will feature open world

stopped reading exactly there

i can't believe anyone was stupid enough to fall for this shit

Some guy effectively reposted the same shit over and over on Sup Forums and /mhg/ sometime back. Looks like journo-kun fell for it.

He predicted XX would be called XX.

Not a particularly difficult prediction.

MH's 3DS assets don't really look bad, polygon wise its amazing the series runs on handhelds, its really just texture and lighting that need updating since 90% of visuals are lighting anyway.

Overall it's sold more on Nintendo consoles/handhelds, and I think Nintendo had the most effort put into their advertisements.

Doesn't change the fact that Nintendo are on really good terms with Capcom right now, and I'm pretty sure it was teased, considering that in the FE crossover video, the beginning of the video is in much higher res compared to the 3DS footage.

I recently bought one for weebshit so even if capcom changes around again I'm set.

As much as I'd love that Capcom does this shit all the time and its one of the reasons people really hated them during the PSP and 3DS era since they would upload footage and screenshots of their handheld games in HD, look up MH Stories screenshots, they're almost all HD.

>they didn't get a CPP
turns the 3DS from hand cramp city to comfiest handheld alive
worth every penny desu

Honestly, I'm an idort, but I just think that the Switch is the perfect home for the series. The fact that it's both a handheld and a home console is just really cool to me, and it's the best gimmick Nintendo's ever had, and is something I hope they continue.

Thats generally how I feel, I have thought since the beginning RPGs and Hunting games belong on handhelds due to their grinding nature, the problem always was the controls of handhelds. Now we have a handheld with all the buttons a console has.

there's no cpp for the n3DS and that nub is hell.

"hey, it's 1080p, 60 fps on the switch!"

Not to mention that the pro controller is a Godsend if you don't care much for the default sticks, and if you want to just play it on the small screen but not a handheld, it has an alright kickstand as well.

Fortunately there's ways around that.
