How do you organize your Steam library?

How do you organize your Steam library?

>obsolete

Other user here, Steam has tons of redundant entries. There are 3 obsolete Company of Heroes listings that got replaced with "CoH: New Steam Version". And I honestly lost count of how many ways there are to launch the original Serious Sam.

Most recent

I use favorites as a temporary category for stuff I'm playing/want to play soon.

ok that makes sense

...

-Games I'll never play again
-Games

Pretty self explanatory. Games I've beaten with no desire to go back to or games I don't like wind up in the first category.

>organize
I only have about 140 games, it doesn't need cleaned up, everything is fine, send help, nothing to see here, I'll worry about it when I hit 150

I really should add more categories at some point

-Favorites
-Games

Buyer's remore/Humble trash
Games
Finished games
Multiplayer games
High replayability games

That's a good idea. I wish you could rearranged categories non alphabetically

>Installed
>Uninstalled
>Fast games

i don't
i should

Those are solid categories, user.

>unfinished
>finished
>horror
>multiplayer
>not played

I catalogue them by genre, but like film genre. So like Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action etc

...

Gibemedat skin name.

...

>favorites
>100%
>backlog
>other
>replay
I'm using Favorites for all the games I have currently installed. Some games are both in 100% and replayt.

>#1 Sport in Korea (Strategy/RTS)
>Action Movie 2: QTE Boogaloo (action/TPS)
>Anders Brevik Simulators (FPS)
>Dating Sims (point and click adventure/VN's)
>Flynn's Arcade (twin-stick shooters/shmups)
>Games for Wizards Live (RPG's)
>I Drive (racing)
>Keep Pressing Right (2D platformers)
>Let's Go Exploring! (3D platformers/action-adventure/metroidvanias)
>Suck My Dick: Choke On It (artsy indie games)
>This Reminds Me Of A Puzzle (puzzle games)

favorites are always on top.

...

>owning a VR

kys

why would you make an "installed" category when steam already has it natively?

Steam makes the VR category by itself if any of your games are compatible.

favourites is Smite, which I play a lot
??? is shit free games I'll probably never play
Backlog is games I'd like to play in the future
Done are done
Eh are games I've started but don't care too much about
Multiplayer are games I play w/ friends
Replay are rouge-likes and easily replayable games
Games are games I'm on right now
VR is a category I didn't make and can't seem to delete

What where?

hover on "library" and look down the drop down list

"Current" is whatever new games or bits of the backlog I'm currently going through.

>have almost 700 games
>organizing your library would require to manually move every single game into your custom category
Steam is a fucking disaster in terms of user-optimization.

...

Well fuck I've had steam for 10 years and didn't know that.

do you feel like a fool?

Do note that SFV is in 'trash bin' and not in Fighting Games.

>VR is a category I didn't make and can't seem to delete
Mine was automatically created when installing Sayonara Umihara Kawase.

You can't rename folders either and the only way to delete them is by removing each game.
Imagine being this guy 4 years from now when he turns 18 and realizes how cringy and tryhard his folder names are. Gonna be a pain.

I don't use Steam, so there is just a tab on my girlfriend's called my name where she puts games for me to play. Either point and clicks or games like Final Fantasy she wants help with.

I don't use categories
no real reason to

...

Yep. I've been manually adding and removing games in the 'installed' category every time and it was a pain. Thanks for calling me out

The category system sucks total ass, I don't see how anyone can put up with it

That's pretty cute, user.

I literally just have a Buyer's Remorse category that all the garbage I've ended up with gets put in to. Otherwiss I only actually play like two games on Steam so categories don't matter anyway.

Cringe and autism.

>A Game I Am Playing
>Backlog
>Cold Backlog
>Completed
>Garbage
Shift a couple from backlog into A Game I'm Playing, shift a couple from Cold to Backlog if that gets light, garbage is shit from Humble Bundles.

...

>Beta
>Multiplayer
>GAMES
But seriously who uses detail view instead of grid view?

What's the point of having an underrated category?

>pressed enter before typing like a retard

I started sorting them by date bought after a while to keep track how long i have em.

Play Me is my current backlog and Underrated is decent indie/small games that i randomly start whenever i don't feel going for another 50+ hour rpg

Guess which category has the most games.

Yes!

Do people actually categorize their games like this? Un-aesthetic as fuck desu

>grand tactics

What's that?

...

...

Strategy games that don't fit in or deserve to clutter up the other tab.

I'd like to see humungoose tab and grorious nippon!

Clean and simple, 7-8/10

Games I actually play in my favorites list, everything else is unsorted.

I don't, it's enough for me that they're in alphabetical order

>But I don't have the time to organize it
I feel you user

Alphabetic order triggers my autism because of shit like this.

Humongous entertainment was a humble bundle, so it's literally everything.

Why don't you people just remove the games via Steam Support if you'll never play them again? Takes 5 seconds

Putting them into a trash category takes 1 second.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to rename games, shit like this triggers me so fucking much.

Because it takes 2 seconds to move them to a shit/don't play file

I used to like games before I joined Steam.

You gain nothing by removing the game from your library and if anything it makes you even more salty because you wasted money for nothing.

It's Metro

I also hate when they put fucking ™ in the title of the game. Fuck off I already know somebody owns Batman.

i may have too many categories

>Dropping games

I'm kind of a faggot.

>launching emulators through Steam

For what reason?

Maybe he means DOSboxed stuff?

So he can show off and brag about being one of those nostalgia-goggled people, I guess.

Using steam controller with emulators.

I don't see the problem with that, I bought Mad Max a while ago and played it for like 5 hours but had no desire to go any further, since it's too late to refund it I might aswell keep it on my library as a reminder of my bad decision. Why should I suffer through a game I don't enjoy just because I bought it?

I AGREE.

THANKS FOR THROWING UP A BUNCH OF DOSBOX AND SHITTY FIGHTING GAME FRONTENDS THAT BARELY WORK, SNK YOU HACK FUCKS.

Neat and tidy

state of my library is horrible

I just delete games I'm not gonna play now. They don't matter. None of this matters.

I just have a games folder and then I hide all the games I'm never going to play again

???

Post the shiggy category

What's a good skin for steam that isn't the default and I won't hate after 10 minutes?

I like Metro

Air classic

darksiders is because i'm in the middle of the warmastered edition
guacamelee because it's shit and i didn't like it
LOTR were freebies i have no intention of playing
aaaand I have no intention of playing Monaco either

SPAZ Planets

But I am biased because I like space.

I prefer Pressure2.

Metro is the most popular one, and it's good too.

i dont

I'm so glad that you can ctrl/shift select games now... it used to be one by one a couple of years ago

Personally, I would still just play through it if I couldn't refund it, since I don't have much money to waste, and if I couldn't enjoy it by regular means, perhaps try and riff on it with friends.

Different strokes for different folks though, I guess.

Freddi Fish was fucking great.

I think you can do that though, or is it only with non-steam games?

t. poorfag

honestly kys

You get the VR category automatically, games like Elite Dangerous and Tabletop Simulator have VR versions of them so they create the category for you

>a new contender appears™
