Yeah I was expecting something but all you got was Makoto saying "he confessed lol."

Even when you defeat his shadow in the palace. He doesn't even sound like he feels any remorse or guilt. It's weird.

They tried to throw some characterization with the "I got shit on too" stuff but it was only there for you to get Makoto and show that Palaces can defy physics.

The phantom thieves would have amounted to nothing if they didn't tackle him.

They only tried to give him some depth at the very end but it was done in a half-assed manner so there was no reason to give a shit at all.

No. The 5th arc is.

The 3rd is pretty good because Makoto. It's actually where the game gets more difficult because of assholes with no weakness and resist physical.

At least be had coolest palace

Spaceport.

Madarame is hands down the worst arc.

Makoto ruined the entire game.

Literally not a single compelling boss or antagonist in this

That at least had the typical Act 2 story thing of the heroes falling on hard times after riding high on their successes.

I liked that they went after an actual mobster and shut down a drug ring. He was just a pawn in the long run but it felt like an important escalation in the Phantom Thieves being justice for society.

Seriously. Big baddie had the dumbest plot just so he can become prime minister. Doesn't even seem like a big deal other than he's killing off nerds. He doesn't even seem like he'd be a bad prez

Just finished the game, I had completely forgotten about him so yeah...

Honestly, people complain about the pacing of this game, but its pretty rock solid how the PT's arc goes.

It had the best palace music tho

Kaneshiro was supposed to be a wacky hip hop talking fat guy but surprisingly he was boring. And I know everyone will disagree but I found Makoto and her arc the most boring things in the game aside from Haru.

Kamoshida > Shido/Akechi > Sae > Wakaba > Okumura > Madarame > Kaneshiro

Okumura at least had some cool space visuals and tried to be challenging unlike the other dungeons. And has the big bang burger attack. The Wakaba story was the most personal and had the best build up to an awakening. Madarame's palace also had cool visuals and the fact that Yusuke's mom was Sayuri all along was great. Kaneshiro's story was really bland and forgettable compared to almost everything in the game. Except for the bad end with Makoto, that's some dire shit sexy shit

what the fuck

who would make this

I love his palace, bank heist and that music shift when you go into the vault is great.

The worst part is just how obvious it is that something wrong is going to happen the moment the popularity meter shows up. October in general is just awful in this regard, but at least the rest of the game doesn't feel that bad.

That's because the contact with that person and his defeat are literally from point A to B.

Guy gets introduced, threatens you and then you steal his treasure,l. Both Madarame and Kaneshiro have already established relationships with people from the group.

Riuji Already hated Kaneshiro's guts and is being a cunt for multiple days to you until the climax comes around and
you directly confront him about the harassment.

Madarame already knew Yusuke and show's his true form until later on. When you're close to stealing his treasure he then proceeds to let you in on the secret that he actually let Yusuke's mother die.

That fat fuck was a one way ticket with no relationship to the rest of the group whatsoever either, which is logical but I quess that's realistic.

Probably because they changed the character arc during development, considering that Makoto replaced Hifumi as a companion

This.
They tried to make akechi interesting but he exposition dumps all over your goddamn ass and dies 5 seconds after.

>Castle
>Museum
>Bank
>Tomb
>Casino
>Cruise Ship
>Prison
>And a robot space port

Okumura is objectively the worst. It has nothing to do with Phantom Thieves

Kamoshida was plenty compelling. They characterized him as a scumbag very well.

Everything after Kamoshida sucked. It was all downhill from there.

>The 3rd is pretty good because Makoto.
This is one of the reasons why it's the worst, she completely ruins the group dynamic.
>It's actually where the game gets more difficult
Umm no, this is where the game's difficulty jumps off a cliff because of how broke most of the confidant abilities are, Madarame was the last thing that resembled any sort of challenge.

>Makoto
>Nuclear becoming prevalent
>Resist/Null Physical
>Drain/Reflect finally added in the mix [unlike SMTIV:A where they show up like 90% into the game]
>Math puzzles
It was a good palace, just the villain himself was poorly executed.

He was just a standard forgettable douchebag

DELET THUS

No, the space palace was even worse

Two questions RQ I just had my showdown with Akechi after that bosslike gauntlet and I got fucked up good.

First, Should I send the calling card immediately? I'm trying to max out the few social links I can in the remaining 3 weeks, I even got to this point in 1 in game day in the cruise ship.

2nd is, Do you still get a token for akechi and Sae going into NG+ so I can make meta and such? Thanks

>Angels blasting you with Hama
>Oni both constant threat that becomes a blessing with brainwash
>Midboss fights with the Ongyo-ki's goons

All the dungeons were great in this game.

The boss fight was total shit. Thinking back, only kamoshida had nice mechanics.

>not paying attention to the story

Nice, I hope someone makes a doujin of Makoto getting trained to be a sex slave and then sold off.

Yes

Hifumi seems more like an alt Yusuke and her mom would be alt-Madarame.

>It's actually where the game gets more difficult because of assholes with no weakness and resist physical.
Tech attacks make these people a joke.

>she completely ruins the group dynamic
Explain

>Doujins
>non-mobage in this day and age

I can see it happening but the doujin will have shit offmodel art or be disappointing and short

Thats Komoshida faggot

>It's actually where the game gets more difficult because of assholes with no weakness and resist physical.
No, it's where it dies because you get access to Shiki Ougi.

t.Sae

>First, Should I send the calling card immediately? I'm trying to max out the few social links I can in the remaining 3 weeks
There's no problem sending it right now, actually, some people from your team (if not all) won't be available as long as the calling card isn't sent.

I liked not-YHVH and having to fight archangels during his final climb.

All the focus completely moves to her, she's always the one coming up with the plans or doing the talking and it drastically shifts the focus away from other characters like Yusuke for example pretty much becomes entirely irrelevant for the rest of the game.
She's pretty much the biggest example of a Mary Sue, it's no wonder the game couldn't recover after Kaneshiro's.

Not that user but I agree.

Morgana is my favorite character and he used to be the one that lead the group and came up with all the plans. That job then shifts to Makoto and you almost never hear him talk anymore. It's honestly a shame.

I really like Makoto too, though, so I'm glad she's in the game, but I think they could have handled her and Morgana's role in the group a bit better, rather than what we have now where she basically pushes him out completely, with Futaba being the nail in the coffin just 1 dungeon later.

One problem is how early she's introduced whereas Naoto was sort of the same character as her in 4 in that she tied everything together she was the last party member you get so her dominance didn't take away from everyone else but with Makoto she comes at the beginning of the game and like you said Futaba coming up next pretty much killed off Ryuji, Ann and Yusuke and then Haru is too late to matter.

>and tried to be challenging
But it ended up being tedious instead. Fuck the ID cards, not even the airlocks can top that shit.

Anyone else feel the ending was incredibly forced? The past like, 3 hours of the game kinda make it feel kinda shit. Doesn't help none of the bosses were this grand epic battle compared to Nyx who had a bunch of different forms, etc.

Akechi's character seemed incredibly rushed before he died and was a ripoff Adachi.

I'd argue the Ship was pretty poor, but that's just because it seemed to drag on forever for me.

I think the biggest problem is that the game shot itself in the foot with how it introduced party members. It just HAS to introduce 1 new member per dungeon, every time. Haru and Akechi get screwed over because of how late into the game they join due to this rule. It's also way too predictable. This was my first persona game and right after I got Yusuke I already saw the pattern, and sure enough it repeated every time.

I think it would have benefited greatly from introducing all the characters earlier, and come up with new creative ways for them to join. Hell Akechi should have joined when you around the time you first make him a confidant. His reasoning for joining during the sixth palace makes sense (got the app, tried it out a month ago, already awakened to his Persona, do it or he'll rat you out) so just have that same reason for him to join way back then. That way we would at least would have gotten 2 characters in a chapter to speed things up a bit.

She's literally the Mary of this game.

You get a token from Sae, but not Akechi. Sae's is completely useless since her link doesn't do anything, and Akechi's would also be useless.

>mafia boss, with drugs and shit
>even the olympic medal teacher had more about him than mafia boss
>says stuff that shit happened to him
>no background about it

After wasting so much time opening vaults, I expected more from this palace, but nope.

What I am feeling is that if they mixed every female character in the gang, except for Futaba, into a female character we wouldnt miss much.
I mean, Makoto and Ann's s.link are the same shit about their fucking friend instead of themselves.

This. Kamoshida's was the only arc where it felt like P-studio was firing on all cylinders. It was just a really well paced school drama sprinkled with little animu cutscenes, and it was exciting to recruit Ryuji and Ann because they have this genuine hatred for him that doesn't feel far fetched.

Then as the game takes off, the antags become cartooney disney villains of the day, the dungeon design never improves, Makoto and Futaba take the spotlight away from everyone, they botch akechi despite so much buildup, and the story becomes preachier than even the worst Tales games.

Would the score for this game be as high as it is, if reviewers actually managed to complete it?

So Symphonia on crack

Basically. The preachiness in particular gets so bad in P5, its the worst kind of cancer that plagues jrpg writing.

>Makoto getting trained to be a sex slave
Yes, good.

>and then sold off.
God damn it, no. Why does every doujin featuring a guy training a girl to be his own personal cumdump always end with him selling her off and/or letting a bunch of other guys use her?

>nail down the first two Palaces, with neat locales/puzzles, and actually having to leave the Palace to do something outside/progress
>shit you mean we gotta make more?
>shitty Combo/Key puzzles the Palace
>completely forgettable Pyramid
>shitty Conveyor/Tower puzzles + jumpjet puzzles
>lame casino games/backtracking for switches
>fucking barren Palace with the AWFUL locked door/rat filler areas to pad the dungeon

Most were forgivable. But the fucking lucked door/rat statue shit was garbage.

Granted they were all better than P4 dungeons, but that's not saying much. Especially with such a massive gap between games to improve.

>Morgana mentions pancakes
>Akechi walks around the corner, introduces himself, and then mentions the pancakes he overheard
>Nobody questions this

Fucking Personas

>baiting this hard
>le pretend face you knew or weren't already spoiled/had common sense to know Akechi was the 'traitor'

How are my prospects looking for maxing every confidant in Persona 5?

It's 9/4

I have
Fool 8
Magician 7
Priestess 5
Emperor 5
Hiero 3
Lovers MAX
Chariot MAX
Justice 3
Hermit 1
Fortune 3
Strength 3
Hanged 4
Death 8
Temper 8
Devil 4
Star 4
Moon 6
Sun MAX
Judge 3

My Social Stats are

Knowledge 4
Guts 4
Proficiency 3
Kindness 3
Charismatic 4

I liked the binary and slide puzzles in the pyramid. Also figuring out the passcodes in the bank. The rat area and casino can fuck itself though, but I forgive the casino a little bit just because I'm a sucker for fight tournaments.

you have like till december so you should have plenty of time I think.

How is that bait? Are you retarded? Why do you type like that?

>talk about the phantom thieves in the acessway
>all that people going through
>keep chatting casually about that and mafia mobs
>go to phones and chat about being phantom thieves
>never thinking someone could trace that

I didn't even notice anything wrong with that conversation until Morgana pointed it out during the reveal.

>"HEY JOKER ISN'T THIS LIKE THAT TIME WE CRASHED THE JAPANESE ECONOMY BY CONFUSING SOME BOSS SHADOW IN MEMENTOS FOR 14 HOURS"
>!?
>"Crazy kids"
>"PHEW THAT WAS CLOSE"

Fortune and Maid, ASAP.

I'd said Fortune>Maid.

There's only a few times you get to fuck off in class. And by then your stats will likely be close to being maxed or you'll be out of books.

The massage, I dunno. Personally I only needed it once or twice a Mission. You often can't get one after you finish the Palace and have to SCHLEEP. And I'd only ever do Mentos once maybe twice. So once for getting to treasure, second for doing the Mentos requests.

Fortune is priceless. You need to figure out who isn't ready to level up yet, and even on days you don't see them get a reading done.

>Thor buffs himself up for da big one
>1-shots on hard
>round 2
>Thor buffs himself up for da big one
>1-shot reflects himself

Get Fortune to 7 asap, she then gets a tarot reading that allows you to give +1 affection to anyone so that you can skip the times where going with a confidant doesn't rank him/her up. Same for Temperance, get it to 10 asap so that you still have your evenings when you go to a palace/Mementos.

And don't forget to go get her stats gain up tarot reading when you're about to do something that should increase one of your stats. Same with the plant in the attic, buy the fertilizer in Shinjuku for +3 kindness every two weeks (I'm saying that because your kindness stats seems pretty low) and the +1 to a stat juice sold every sunday in the underground.

Kaneshiro didn't really appear enough and he didn't have any sort of connection with the group, but he was the first one that felt like a real, dangerous threat. The fact that the bad end if you don't meet his deadline is probably the darkest in the game, with Makoto getting abducted, drugged up and whored out, solidifies that.

Okumura is far more underwhelming. The gang never even has a face-to-face confrontation with him (aside from Haru of course), and the stakes have no bearing on any of the group other than Haru. I guess that's part of the point, since Okumura was supposed to be them losing sight of their goals. But given that he was still a prick who was more than a worthy target of getting his heart changed, it wasn't terribly effective at conveying that.

Why does this meme get pushed so much

I had just fused Siggy from maxing out the STR confidant, I wish he had repel instead of null now. Still was a DBZ power up fight, I loved it.

Thanks, guys!

Get ready for that in the crimson version

>hey botch akechi despite so much buildup
Do they fuck. Refuse to believe that anybody clocked on that the whole of the PT knew that he was the traitor, it was a genuinely surprising twist

I like Okumura's dungeon, I thought the recurring enemies are neat and how they build up to the boss with the entire employee army. I like having to watch out for Grimhelka's usually reflect bullshit. I like the classic SMT one way door puzzles. I like how Okumura tries to bale on the heist and you have to chase him down.

But all the other dungeons of the game do fit a theme of places thieves would be robbing (or breaking out of in the last dungeon), except for the space station

Also remember some Confidants need high stats to start/finish(level 4/5).

And that some Confidants actually give out Stats for doing them. So if you're low in a stat you need, you can focus on that one for a bit.

You should never 'hang out' with anyone and should only spend time if you're going to level up.

So right now I'd focus on Fortune to 7, and spend your afternoons raising stats.
Diner is good for Int/one other stat.

Nights at Burger Joint for loadsa Guts(can do during day but costs more).

Baths on Mon/Thurs(?) for extra stats(You can savescum to avoid 'passing out' and only getting guts, might take a few tries).

And as he said Juice on Sunday is random +1 for 5,000(can spend extra money at Fortune Teller for +2[just check the drink's stat, go to fortune teller and buy buff, then go back and drink it).

Also you can read the Movie Buff book to get more from seeing movies. I was using Movies around where you were at to raise certain stats.

And on rainy days helps more in some stats, like in the baths or studing in the diner with hot coffee.

>Makoto

Did she even noticed that you carry a fucking cat to school?

>He doesn't like dealing out vigilante justice on the streets of Shibuya

>The 3rd is pretty good because Makoto.

>Don't worry guys, I have a plan to meet with this dangerous mob boss
>HEY DUDE TAKE ME TO YOUR BOSS
>Yes I will absolutely get into a car alone with a gang member to go to a den of sin
>Wait, how did this go so wrong? Why didn't he just listen to me?

Yeah, sure. Makoto really made it great.

I was walking through Shinjuku on my way to the Robot Restaurant and I saw vigilante justice.

It's like Shibuya but less lame and it has more blimps.

Never seen a blimp before!

>There are actually people who dislike Futaba's Tomb and Sae's Casino
What's it like being legitimately retarded?

>Group then makes her the leader
Makoto really does JUST the game.

Persona 5 is just a safe carbon copy of Persona 4, I was expecting more after waiting such a long time for it. Makoto and Naoto are both characters we're supposed to believe are smart but first enter the party by being gigantic retards. I guess Naoto is still stupider than Makoto, though.

Does what?

P5 Fes when?
youtube.com/watch?v=zWQZsaCz9Qk

Already happened, gets knocked up and becomes a gyaru.

haha yeah man remember in Persona 4 when MC got beat up by the police and that girl got raped and tried to kill herself

>Joker spinning and shootin' because he's so baller.
I'm down for it.

>Makoto: what is computers. I don't understand much of that area. What is like arcade gaming. What? You can be traced by hackers on phones? We should be more careful guizes

Nah, is just the level of being a genius or smart on videogames.

At least people actually died in P4.

More people die in 5 than 4.

Okimura, the principal, and the SIU director all die. The psychotic break downs end in death. And those are just the ones that get screen time.
