So what? I moved to Central America due to job reasons, my ping goes from 150-200 and I play perfectly fine. I can dodge AOEs and hit procs just fine too. This isn't an FPS or an Action game

Ping matters for boss mechanics as it doesnt matter if youre out of a telegraph area before the animation starts, it matters when the cast ends. If the cast bar hits 0 and you move out then, the ability could have a 10second animation before any damage is dealt, and youll still get hit 5 miles away because XIV's server puts you there at castbar finish.

user, most people here have played the game and know it determines hits at the end of casting, not at an arbitrary point in a 5-second attack animation. That has nothing to do with ping unless you just have shitty reflexes or are trying to avoid the extremely small subset of enemy abilities that give you only a couple tenths of a second of clearance to get out.
