Super Mario Odyssey

Anyone else worried this is going to end up being Sunshine tier?

You mean good?

>Sunshine tier
>worry
Nigger what?

lmao I wish it would

You say that like it's a bad thing. I'm more worried about it being New Super Mario Bros Wii-Wii U tier.

It will be worse than the Galaxy games.

64>Sunshine>Galaxy>3d world

No, why would I? Koizumi is still in charge of this one.

How many times will you make this thread?

Sunshine tier is just as good as galaxy tier, both great IMO. This must be b8.

>Koizumi is still in charge of this one.
He hasn't directed a Mario since the first Galaxy and he's not directing this one either.
The guy who directed 3D World is directing this one.

What did OP mean by this?

I'm worried that Mario is going to have a bunch of cool abilities, but won't take full advantage of them. (Lots of different jumping techniques in worlds that are mostly flat; a bunch of powerups that are only ever used to get a star in an otherwise inaccessible place; etc)

He's still the producer though, and he gets the final say, but regardless Galaxy 2 and 3D World were still really good.

I don't understand the hate for 3D World it's really really fun and It was never meant to be a open world adventure style 3D Mario game. It's a 3D multiplayer platformer and a damn good one.

Nah, I don't. This time Nintendo got some time to study some actually good game design thanks to Galaxy and 3D World.

>but regardless Galaxy 2 and 3D World were still really good.
Agreed, more so Galaxy 2 though although multiplayer in 3D World was a lot of fun.

>worried
You mean HOPING

That's what most people mean by Sunshine tier.

Sounds more like SM64 tier. Sunshine had the secret levels that forced you to use ll of mario's jumps

What?
Sunshine has secret levels that take Fludd away but you never had to use more than the bare essentials to do them.

Seems Nintendo is going big with the open world stuff. First Zelda and now this.

He is still the Mario series producer, but he has also essentially been promoted to Miyamoto's old position, and has been very involved with development of the Switch. Koizumi is a busy man now.

>it's not course clear 3D Mario, so it'd bad

i had more fun collecting red coins in the secrets than fluddless runs

just saying

>Open world
>It's just Super Mario 64/Sunshine style open courses
If this is open world, then Nintendo pioneered open world in 1996.

Sandbox ≠ open world

Yes, I'm worried it will be so good that I won't be able to shitpost about it on Sup Forums.

>le sunshine is bad meme

it's Sandbox 3D Mario, not "open" as in "GTA/BotW-open" (which is actually good)

see

All you have to do is wait for the sonybros to spend several months shitting on it for invalid reasons, and then rub it in their face when it turns out to be good.
Worked with BotW.

>This thread again

nice ass

>worried
>Sunshine tier
The only bad thing about that game is the camera.

Sunshine is fun faggot

>plumber boy
who gives a shit

No, I'm not worried about it turning out to be a good game.

I don't think the word "sandbox" means what you think it means.

>Going big with the open world stuff
ayyy

A good game?

the entire fanbase a much harder time labeling what 3D Mario is with subjective shit like "linear" or "non-linear"

meanwhile, Nintendo literally nailed it.

I don't understand why people think the Galaxy games are the best things ever. They're very meh. Are you guys all 12 or something?

how old is the Wii anyways

The only complaint I ever heard about Sunshine was the voice acting, but that always felt like a shoddy reason to tell an entire game, that was fucking perfect gameplay-wise, to fuck off.

Explain this meme to me.

scrubs

>whoa posting
go back to your e-celeb threads

MODS

t. GameCubetoddler

I cant stand Sunshine, but thats mostly because its blatantly unfinished.

This game had quite some development time from the looks of it. I'm optimistic.

irony he calls underage while owning a Wii system

majority of 6th gen people are over 18-25 now with GCN and GBA nearing its 18th year soon

sunshine is the best 3d mario
faggot

>Unironically defending an unfinished Mario game with the worst levels of all the 3D games
Only GameCubetoddlers defend Sunshine.

>stop liking what i don't like
of course Wiifetuses get easily angry over people not liking overrated Galaxy

even the secret levels stomps the shit out of anything from those games.

>people called Sandbox 3D "collect-a-thon"
>when Galaxy 2 had more things to collect and go after than any 3D Mario game.

>Assravaged GameCubetoddler can't handle that Sunshine is objectively the worst in the series

>with the worst levels of all the 3D games
that's not 3D "cash-in" Land

>Wiifetus can't argue or aim right
wew. did you need mama rosie to help you out on that?

>Sunshine tier

holy shit i hope so

You mean best 3D Mario tier? I hope so. Never really gave a fuck about the Galaxy games and thought they were overrated as shit.

Koizumi has never made a single weak or bad 3D Mario game

stop arguing you autists

He made Sunshine though.

>sunshine
>can only do the course you select
>you have to do the seventh shine in every world instead of getting 50 shines however you want

sunshine is completely different to how 64 worked, why are they even grouped together

>what are the Galaxy games

not an argument

>Sunshinetoddlers unironically defend this

it's called gitting gud

>RNG is getting gitting gud
Lol

>RNG
oh boy! what casualfag term is this one?

next you'll cry artificial difficulty as a (fake) excuse

>getting gitting

that's how Koizumi designed it for core 3D fans

seems like you had a real hard doing it. want me to call Mama Rosie for ya?

Nice to know you haven't actually played Ricco 8.
Keep defending that unfinished trash heap though.

ITS OVER SONIC IS OFFICIALLY BETTER THAN MARIO

i'm worried about the controls

does anyone know if i'll have to hold a button to run?
i hated that in 3D world

He designed it so you spend most of the level ground pounding two switches?
I've also said nothing about the Galaxy games, my point is Sunshine is fucking garbage compared to 64 of which it was trying to emulate.

i have 118 shines on my file 2 save, senpai.

keep trying

But Sunshine was awesome user

>He designed it so you spend most of the level ground pounding two switches?
yes and it's normally 2 or 3 tries to get it

Miyamoto also designed how you were supposed to jump off the entire slide to get down to the end of the Secret Slide quickly in 64

now user, do you need the assistance of the Cosmic Spirit on the sandbird level?
