Just let it die already.

But with the new one given more time for dev maybe things will look up for the series.

Fell in love with series with the very first one, the second only cemented it. I genuinely thought AC2 was magical.

Ever since then, except for Black Flag and arguably Brotherhood I guess, it's turned into sheer mediocrity. Some are just ok, others are fucking shit. AC3 and Unity were the games with the most potential, but they fucked it all the same.

I can't let go however, I know they aren't the best games ever made but they are a guilty pleasure of mine. The new one is supposed to be a soft reboot and aims once again to revolutionize. Only this time, I hope that unlike AC3 for instance it really works out. What the AC franchise needs is a serious GOTY contender and if the next one can't do that the series will just vanish sooner than later without ever reaching its unbelievable potential.

Altair best boy, everyone else are just a bunch of faggots.

One of the worst series ever made

First couple games were good then it went to complete shit.

Love it. I buy them every year. Too bad we didn't get one last year but the movie made up for that.

I like the first one but it got way too repetitive so I never finished it. I own 1 + 2 on steam, should I give it another go?

I never played the first ones, but I enjoyed the Ezio games. Ezio was a good character

Yeah, finish the first one and then jump to 2. I really recommend finishing 1 before that, the experience you'll have with 2 will be better.

After AC2 it's gonna be obvious to you. Did you rike it? You can go ahead with the other games. Did you not rike it? Series isn't for you.

I played AssCreed 1 and Black Flag.

Both would have been substantially better if they dropped the memory to the past bullshit.

It was a bad idea from the first game.

Played the shit out of these games in highschool, but going back they feel so God damn clunky

I stopped at black flag. Did ubisoft figure out a way to incorporate exposition into gameplay without making every other mission half an hour of tailing someone?

The ship tailing was the last straw for me, I couldn't stomach any more.

If he liked AC2 he's probably still gonna like Brotherhood and then drop it during Revelations like any sane person.

First game:
-had my favorite villians (maybe second to aciii)
-had a main character that felt like he genuinely changed during the course of the game, terrible voice actor though.
-was beautiful (for it's time)
-had boring music, except certain tracks
-had annoying combat, tedious missions and useless eagle vision.

i'd say it was like eating a sponge cake. bland but sweet and filling.

the 2 and brotherhood are so superior in every single way it's hard to remember it to foundly

Nice concept but they couldnt deliver on the modern day stuff. All those plots that span over the centuries with important historical figures fall flat. Apart from that the game was pretty neat with loads of good ideas, but due endless sequel run just kills the game. Like initially they had this puppeteer system, they had to simplify it but it was a cool concept. By the time unity came around they gave up on it. The compact cities were great, but as you get closer to modern times it fall apart. The hidden blade ages terribly. Even in the first game the throwing knifes are way more useful. They shoudlve just stuck with a triology.

Yeah, I genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere and ideas of AC 1 and 2.

I even liked Desmond's role in the first game, and the way that he was locked up in the labs trying to piece together bits of information regarding what was really going on, while barely getting any glimpse of the outside world himself.

But the series made bank and any original idea they had of ending with a satisfying conclusion was thrown out the window.

Only played syndicate and enjoy it but I don't see myself playing another one because it became too repetitive in the end.

>chaining together hidden blade kills
feels good man

AC1 - Meh
AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations - Excellent
AC3 - Meh(although it did had some cool stuff)
AC4 - Fantastic
AC Liberation HD - OK
AC Bloodlines - Meh

It made me hate the ubisoft open world formula forever.

The first one is a terrible game. They learnt then made, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations good. Then 3 was awful. Then Black Flag was great, then the rest mediocre.

>Both would have been substantially better if they dropped the memory to the past bullshit.
This.

>mfw they tried to pass off a fullblown CGI cinematic trailer as in-game graphics.

Ubisoft never changed.

If you can handle it go for it, you can try to pick only the short missions (eavesdrop and such) to go faster through the game. The game has some nice reveals, great cities and the most pure assassinations.

2 is a lot better, so even if you dont like 1 you should try it. It is a great open world game.

2 was great for the setting, brotherhood was a nice expansion being sold for full price

4 was amazing again for the setting, fucking love pirates and the Caribbean

>Both would have been substantially better if they dropped the memory to the past bullshit.

Agreed, they should just drop the modern day Animus bullshit and just focus on where the location the game takes place in.

the inclusion of info on hte buidlings you climb in AC2 and beyond was a really good idea. Nothing better to read on buildings you just climbed. It even tells you Black flag shouldnt be an AC game, it had like 5 special buildings

i liked the first one, it was good. i think the hype for it was alright. i never bought or played the other ones. when i was at rehab i played a tiny bit of i think it was black flag (the pirate ship)

>Remembered E3 years ago when they first showed off Watch Dogs with actual gameplay and graphics looked nice
>Actual game came out and graphics looked worse than it did in the gameplay trailers

Didn't Ubisoft get sued for this?

skip 1 if it was too repetetive

2 is more varied, even if only because of locations and story. Gameplay stays largely the same, but the setpieces make up for it

Its just the usual E3 stuff, see Halo 2.

They make a demo, pump up the graphics to infinity, put in a bunch of triggers that they cannot reasonably do in the end product, and make it look awesome. But if you look the wrong way, move off the beaten path, or have anything less than a monster machine, you are not getting what they show

>see Halo 2.

Funny speaking of that. Like you said the graphics for Halo 2 when it came out, no one complained about it back then but now people do complain about the graphics not looking like they were when shown at E3. Man how times changed.

I like to believe the series died with the embers short video

4 was okay, but not enough to get me interested again

Where were you when Ashraf made Assassin's Creed great again?

>Series became a dead horse after Revelations
>2 is still the best
>No matter how hard Ubisoft tries they can never the series fun again

youtube.com/watch?v=LLMpQJK_ugc

Best sound piece in the entire series

Reveal when?

This series died when in black flag there is an option to have your character talk like a pirate but the game counts that as a cheat and your not allowed to save or play the game as a voiced pirate.

fucking fail.

>fixed

This game doesnt have enough diversity to be realistic. Scientifically there are over 142 genders yet this game has only ever portrayed 2 which is pure fantasy if you live in the real world.

First one was good. Threw me off because without being flooded with ads and spoilers as we are today the game taking place in a matrix like place was bizarre. It was repetitive, I get why people never finished it but I enjoyed it and kept playing. The ending being a cliffhanger was the second time I felt jew'd with the ending since H2, so I was bummed by that. Back then most games were usually beginning middle end so that explains my reaction. AC2 was cool, but around that time they must've decided to fuck the story line up so they could milk the series for every dime. I loved brotherhood and the online was so fun and new at the time.

I'm already blogging too much here but Syndicate was alright even though I felt the graphics looked like shit and seemed solid 30fps. In conclusion I think the series is pretty much dead I don't really care about it, especially since Desmond died what a waste of potential.

without more intersectional gender representation noone will buy AC games and its why the franchise failed since it lacked diversity thinking playing as a male or a female was the only gender choices.

it isnt just graphics. Its the entire thing, the dual wielding, they put it in the game but it wasnt coded at all, just a onetime trigger, if you would move of the path a little bit you had a crash, the weapons shown were made just for that part, the graphics were made just so that it would max out the system without overloading, as long as you kept on the path. It was a mess.

the game died when they wanted more AC after AC3 and remade black flag into an AC title

I liked the feel of the first one despite it beingrepetitive as fuck. The Crusades and the Middle Eastern setting was nice. But even back then I hated the modern day part of the story. It was so dumb, and if I'm to understand it got even stupider as the games continued. Last one I played was Black Flag. After that I just got permanently burned out of the series and dropped it for good.

Right here. My nigga Ashraf is gonna do it again. What a madman.

I read some shit about this Friday apparently.

May 19

first game was eh
ACII was great
Brotherhood was eh
Revelations was bad
ACIII has a great story but it was so bland
Black Flag and Freedom Cry are great
Rogue was really good
I didn't even bother with Unity or Syndicate

>Tfw they even got the royal colors of the Egyptian right
HYPE

Black Flag is the last one worth playing. Desmond's story ends in it and the present-day plot gets even wackier from there onwards.

The guy that did AC 1 and AC2 is a Game Director in my city. " Montreal" He got fuckt hard when Ubisoft fucked him over.

Check out his Studio and a game he wants to make later.

Modern day stuff could've been good if they invested in it. Instead they doubled-down on the pointlessness, and outed themselves as people who don't play what they make(nobody who plays vidya would think Ubisoft Deskmonkey Simulator was a good idea.)

Quebecois are truly some of the dumbest fucks on the planet.

Yeah I know everything about based Patrice my dude, I'm gonna support this guy because he made my favourite games and is such a creative person. He actually influenced the game industry in huge ways but nobody knows him/credits him.

Some people still think Jade made AC.

fuck you.

don't worry, they cover their bases at the splash screen. theres your diversity card.

instead of wasting time adding those characters, make them feel represented and patronized with a quick splash screen. Then you just make the game how you want and mark any criticism racist or something because the dev teams diverse.

Painful truth, huh?

2 is good, 4 is the best, the rest can die in a bear trap made of AIDS.

>sign up for Patrice's new game newletter
>i get good progress on his game
> After a couple of months i get an email saying hes giving his game for free for those that signed up to the newletter.
>based af

Yeah, got that e-mail too. It's great.

The graphics are god-tier yet no-one seems to mention them, aside from the re-used character models, shoddy textures and incoherent lighting its practically current gen!

PS leaker yesterday said Arno is back for a mini story in-game set in 1799 Cairo. Sorta like the WW1 thing in Syndicate

Kill yourself

We'll see if that leak is true. It'll gain more credibility if the game gets announced this Friday, which is what the leaker said.

It'd be cool as fuck desu, he even mentioned a segment where we play as Amunet, assassinating Cleopatra. Amunet is the lady that has a statue in AC2's villa.

too bad the gameplay was shit

>Press T to watch an animation
Honestly, the only good thing I can remember about AC is its world: I really liked how the cities were done, but that's about it. Terrible series in general -- not just the first game.

>But the series made bank and any original idea they had of ending with a satisfying conclusion was thrown out the window.

remember when the game's end was supposed to coincide with the 2012 end of the world conspiracy? that shit was 5 years ago.

>amsterdam 1666
As dutchman I support this gmae.

Have any link to such leak please?

This sounds like a lot of random noise that doesn't come together as opposed to an actual music piece.

AC is like my sworn enemy in game form
no wait that's Starcraft brood war.
but AC is close.

The first was worth finishing.

The rest were cash grabs.

archive.is/nMWKY

it had potentital. Ubisoft scrapped it. but Patrice keep saying he will make it one day.

Remember when Desmond was set up to be the ultimate badass atleast trying to destroy the Templars in modern day? That was 8 years ago.

>arno
>have childhood friend GF
>cant get with her becuase youre lower class than her
>revolution might give you a chance
>turns out you are both part of a rival order and its basically impossible
>due an insane twist of fate it might just happen anyway
>try your damn hardest to pull it off
>in the end your waifu dies
Man, after all arno went through I hoped he got to pound that sweet redhead pussy all night. He deserved it.

>the most repetitive game in the series was worth finishing

Because it basically amounted to slightly magical Assassin's Creed
youtube.com/watch?v=_WVEo4yXpho

>archive.is/nMWKY
Thanks man

what, desmond was an assassin that didnt want to assassin and tried to run away from it and worked as a bartender.

There were letters they sent each other. Both of them confessed that they had fucked behind each other's backs. Arno fucked with multiple Versailles women.

Elise was an annoying cunt anyway, her own stupidity killed her. There was 0 reason to rush and ignore your lover who was under a giant rock.

That was in the past. He later acknowledges his "destiny" and changes his mind. But the events of AC2, especially it's credits scene were building up towards that shit.

It was better as a Assassination Simulator.
It really was.
Since Combat was intentionally bad.

>Making a game around the least consequential part of a character's life
>Not making it about the Napoleonic wars
This is why we can't have nice things

>dude i'm an ancient alien goddess touch this ball to save the world
>lol what a dumbass he's dead now i'm going to live in the internet
Thanks Ubisoft

That's what greed and annualization do. AC was supposed to be a trilogy, but they threw their old plans away to make endless sequels. Of course the narrative is gonna suffer, it's going places it wasn't supposed to go.

Patrice's idea was dumb as fuck. He wanted 3rd game to be fully in the modern world. That sounds gay and no smart business would ever do it

except he couldve run. Thats the point. Arno helped elise when he couldve killed the guy, elise decided that killing was more important.

revolution was pretty cool too. Although they fucked it up by making elise and arno more important than the actual revolution. It was just a love story with some rebellion in the back. Its like a movie of a confidant of ceasar hanging out with a whore while ceasar rises to power. The second part is interesting but the character just doesnt ive a fuck.

What even is the narrative anymore?
Is there one?

>1 is okay but poorly executed
>2 is well executed, did what the first game wanted to do, likable protag and interesting setting carry it in my opinion
>Brotherhood is dogshit

Currently playing Brotherhood and I don't fucking understand the acclaim. It's absolutely miserable. I fail missions all the time due to fucking awful design. I failed an escort mission by jumping into the water, I got the "reduce distance" warning in mid air and failed when I hit the water, it was two feet away. Never lost a fight once even without buying upgrades and using only the assassin blades. Just awful.

>Revelations is dogshit
>3 is dogshit
>4 is great when doing pirate stuff, assassin stuff is dogshit
>rogue is a less fun version of 4 but still alright due to assassin hunting

Unity seemed pretty lame with it's tiny weapon selection so I stopped playing. Whatever the London game is seems alright I guess, same shit as all the others.

In short, 2 and 4 are worth playing, the rest of the series is absolute cancer on average.

They got way too big. If you make your maps so large you allow the player to spiderman through it I think you're going a bit far.

Mediocre. Haven't played all of it but most asscreed fags praise 4, and it got pretty boring fast.

I really enjoyed the first one. I'd never played something like it at that point and it was the only game I ever got all the achievements for on my 360. The time period and setting got my dick rock hard for the time, and I had a blast going through it. Subsequent play throughs have shown it doesn't hold up however.

Bought AC 2, dropped it about half way through, just wasn't interested. Maybe because I autistically went 100%'d the first game, but it just didn't do it for me. Might deserve another chance with all the praise it gets.

Last and only AC game I played after that was Black Flag, which was fucking great. It was different enough from the first game for me to find rewarding, the story wasn't total ass, and I love pirates. Never finished it though.

Out of all of them, even the ones I haven't played I'd rank Black Flag the highest.

>Ending a story is dumb.

You're dumb.

Everything could work about it, and it was working up to it. I don't get why they didn't just let him finish his thing. You can always make endless prequels or BS reasons for sequels, but atleast you have solid a solid trilogy the series will be known for.

I like AC2, 4 and Rogue but the atmosphere of AC1 is what I miss the most. It was magical.
Also that feeling that this shit right here is fresh, next-gen, a true leap forward, even if undercooked.

Not really. It's retarded and all over the place, this soft-reboot is probably gonna give us a new story anyway.

Beyond 3 they started a new setup. In 4 they are looking for a person that constantly resurrects that has a lot of predecessor DNA, and you are an employ tasked to make a pirate movie using the animus, while in reality you are looking for the resurrect guy (you dont know that but thats why they make you do that). Beyond 4 they started selling the animus as helix, a home system to enjoy some fun time in history, using altered memories to make templars look good. But a hacker activist organisation recruits the player (a customer) to instead look for stuff in the past to help the assassins.

I'm a fan of these games since the first one. In my opinion, all of them are great until rougue. Unity and Syndicate are mediocre and the new one is a prequel so it's already irrelevant.

It's not a prequel. The leaker worded it in a retarded way, but he was basically emphasizing the fact that this is the furthest they went back in time. The actual story continues normally.
