What makes a game weebshit?

What makes a game weebshit?

When you don't like it.

When it ceases to be about anything but cute girls being cute.

What the fuck does this image even mean?
Why does a japanese game need to have western influences?
Whoever made this was dropped on their head as a child.

>interchangeably generic artstyle and character designs
>characters that follow a personality/trope checklist
>lifeless setting
>mediocre gameplay
>waifu pandering
>huge amounts of "fanservice" so otaku/weebs have something to fap to
>bottom of the barrel anime-tier "plot" with garbage writing
>fans never talk about the gameplay, only how much they want to fuck the characters

Sounds like mass effect

Mass Effect is actually discount Persona in space.

A good example of all this things are games like Neptunia, Atelier, and Senran Kagura, even though SK is not a JRPG.

The more JRPGs (the actual good ones) you play, you can easily observe how generic most of them are, especially after the success FF7 had on the market, that's why most good titles were made before or while FF7 was being made, because developers realized that you can get away with a lot of shit and still get sales, and now one of those things is little girls doing "cute" things.

>(the actual good ones)
Such as?

According to some people it's anything made in Japan in general.

Unless it's dark, gritty and joyless, then it gets a free pass.

>JRPGs then

Space does weird shit to your head.

Xenogears
Baten Kaitos
Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2
Legend of Mana
Chrono Cross
Mario RPG 7 Stars
Breath of Fire (Especially 3 and 4 imo)

To name a few

Suikoden II, forgot that one

Wild Arms and Grandia II as well.

>only one PS2 jrpg
You are seriously missing out

The last good one I've played was Xenoblade Chronicles. For some reason this game was so well rounded and polished compared to other mmorpgs. Also god tier setting, good characters, god tier music.

This

Oh I am sure as fuck I'm missing a lot of them
Thanks bud, forgot that one too as well

Was this the first truly weebshit JRPG?

>gameplay was utter shit
>99% text with boss battles
>lewd fanservice out the wazoo
>characters fell into every generic moe cute girl under the sun

>japanese games are too japanese!
I don't even play them but what a retarded image

This. The last one
>fans never talk about the gameplay, only how much they want to fuck the characters
is probably the most important one on this list.
Touhou may be a game that weebs love, but I wouldn't call it "weebshit" because you can actually talk about things like gameplay instead of just what characters you want to fuck. There are people who just talk about what characters they want to fuck of course, but those are called "secondaries" and are rightfully shunned. Contrast with something like Neptunia where nobody talks about anything but the characters.

You know the longest running jrpg series that people bitch about started the same year as FF7 and actually improved throughout the years but everyone still hates because it's "too moe"

>JRPG'S THEN
>still has a fair bit of Western influence

No wonder they were shit until FFVII.

You are comparing a jrpg to a mmorpg though, even if the combat is really close to what a mmo could be, the limitations are way different.

Scenarios and music is indeed, pretty nicely done

I like both.

>Was this the first truly weebshit JRPG?
No, the Rance games were.

When a Redditor posts about a jap game.

According to Sup Forums, being made in Japan

>VII
>set in New York
>one of the key things is how the Mako Cannon Hiroshima'd Wutai
>has the worse enemy properties (most enemies weak to lightning, dozens with NO strengths/weaknesses)

Y-yeah.

>set in New York

I never knew New York was the only city on Earth.

What?
