Gets one shoted by random NPC

>gets one shoted by random NPC

been trying to beat this fuck for the past 3 hours what a shit game.

>t. I picked the master key on my first playthrough

You're supposed to parry him.

Its easy, his attacks are slow.

>don't lock on
>roll behind him
>backstab
>repeat

>durr le git gud artificial difficulty shit game cancer community wtf
>durr game is so ez lmao only retards struggle with this garbage
Can you retards settle on a hivemind already

No.
git gud, it is an easy game, scrub.

It's almost as though shitposters use whatever arguments are convenient and don't have any genuine opinions

>get naked
>pull out your big ass sword
>approach behind him
>backstab his ass
Or
>get naked
>pull out your big ass sword
>look him in the eyes
>stab his dick after you parry him

once you figure out that you can simply side step his attack (don't have your shield raised) and chain backstab him, you realize how underwhelming he is in DS1.

In DS3 Havel is actually pretty challenging you first time you meet him and you only see him at the Dragon secret area very end game, as he should be.

That is normally the case, yes, but what I find interesting is that shitposts against Dark Souls are so contradictory and polarizing

If you're parrying, wouldn't you be better off having armor since rolls are irrelevant?

Havel is like a tiny boss archetype, you learn their moves and strategy, then learn to counter it. Sure he kills in a single hit but he's slow as fuck. If you can't learn to kill him you're gonna be fucked as the game goes on. So git gud.

If you can't beat it go fight something else.

Why not just leave him be lol. I Didn't even kill him in the firtst playtrough.

I think he would one shot you anyway since it's the very beginning of the game. Unless you started with knight and put every point you could to in VIT maybe?

I did this and I kicked his ass throu, also he is easy to ignore

Here's easy mode
>farm a bit for firebombs, throwing knives, etc
>engage him
>run back to the upstairs
>throw bombs at him because he can't pass through the threshold
>repeat until he dies

>get naked
>2h drake sword
>no shield
>let him start running up the stairs towards you
>roll off when he nears you
>recover and get near the center of the room while he runs back down
>lock on
>watch him carefully
>there's 2 parts to every attack: wind-up and swing
>identify the wind-up
>it's when he's bringing his weapon back but not forwards
>roll to your left as soon as you see his wind-up end
>backstab
>back-off and let him stand
>recover all of your stamina
>watch for the wind-up
>it ends
>roll to the left
>backstab
>back off
>roll at wind-up
>backstab

4-6 of those and he's toast, works 100% of the time, just make sure you don't roll into a wall, while he's recovering use that time to recenter yourself in the room

If you fuck up and he's chasing you, run back up the stairs and roll off like you did at the start, it will allow you to reposition and start again

Good luck, remember beating enemies like this is a dance, it isn't about ending it as quickly as possible, it's about becoming Lord of the Dance so that he can never beat you

dude, NPC characters aren't hard at all unless there are multiple at the same time

Havel ring is very useful desu
