I will say this for BoTW:
For most open world games, once I get to the end of the story I am typically done and move onto something else without looking back.
With BoTW, I am planning on going back and finishing up any quests and shrines I did not do. Only reason I stopped was because of all the other games coming out at the time.

I completed my first playthrough of BOTW as a 3 heart run just to see if I could do it and it made the game a lot of fun for me. I Basically stealth/environmental killed everything. I felt like Batman, I was constantly rich from selling all my heartpieces and used maximum prep-time for every region.

I haven't had any problems with the controls other than at the very beginning. I kept pressing the wrong buttons. Try using the Duplex Bow. It's great for helping to not miss.
