Mr. House > Legion > Independent > NCR

I think it's amazing we can STILL have Fallout NV threads to talk about the greatness of this game but there are rarely ANY threads about Fallout 4

Mr. House was the best choice, only losers joined Legion

Sorry user, I thought I heard you say something. Can you repeat that please?

>muh father figure

grow up

Because this place is filled with contrarian faggots. For example, there's plenty of unknown, interesting, well thought out locations in fallout 4 that even come with their own pretty damn cool little stories in terminals, notes, or even skeletons. But no, let's talk about that tumbleweed ranch in new vegas where you encounter that nightkin because that place is soo good right? or some prospector's shack that has a healing powder and literally nothing else. All the locations in new vegas suck my dick but the people here feel the need to praise even that and say that somehow the locations in fallout 4 are worse just because they hate fallout 4 altogether.

I asked you a question

I haven't played a single fallout game :)

>joining the legion
>not being a slave(literally and figuratively)
pick one

Are you talking about that faggot Caesar? because that was his entire schtick. Being big daddy to the whole legion.

FO4 is garbage

not even modders give a shit about it lmao thats how you know its a failure

Hey Todd

Mr. House = Energy Weapons
Legion = Melee
Independent = Fist
NCR = Rifles

if only they weren't a bunch of psychos

The only people who earnestly pick Legion and think that they are a force for good are the kind of people who fantasize about raping their female coworkers 24/7 and talk about killing anyone who disagrees with them on message boards.

And don't get me fucking started on Stormcloaks.

...

NCR > Yes Man >>> House >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> letting Elijah gas the wasteland > Legion

I finished the game when it came out but the only things I can remember about it are a big crab fight and not being able to do a kill everyone ending.

I only joined them for the supply drops, and left when I got 17 Doctor's Bags.

The in game Legion was for edgelords
If we had gotten the actual Legion settlements that gave a different perspective then you would maybe have an argument. Alas, we didn't

Suggested mods?

Puppy love for Cass
Independent > House > Legion > NCR

Not into Cass
Independent > NCR > House > Legion

It's funny how you say fallout 4 has so many great examples then don't mention any, instead talking about places in New Vegas.
It seems like as shitty as you believe they were they stuck in your memory better than anywhere in 4.

Hello newfag. All dubs besides double zeros are disabled on Sup Forums.

>Legion = Melee
>Independent = Fist
What did he mean by this?

Maybe if I lived in a world where Obsidian finished Legion's side of the river.

I'll admit some of the stories in terminals can be decent in 4 (such as the one where a guy mentions he'll stab his co-worker, and you can find a skeleton behind some crates with a pen next to its throat.) But if you think that makes 4 better then new vegas then kindly kys.

>2281
>not siding with Mr. House
Have fun with all the tribes fighting each other once the cancer kills Caesar off.

When im independent, that fist is in your ass.

every time I see some user upset over nv and not just through shitposting, it's because the setting is in the desert. They can't fathom the idea that a game not in a boring urban setting could possibly be good. Even though fallout has always been exploration through desert settlements

>abloo abloo i hope daddy house will resolve all problems XD

fuck off insecure retard

why can't I just kill Oliver and be done with it. Mowing down forced conscripts of people that don't even want to be there doesn't make House appealing

Mr. House is the best choice if you want humanity to get out of the cesspit it has created.

>daddy house
>when he supports a dictatorship that worships a man like a god
Dude, you only got 2 INT.

this shit again?

I don't give a toss about some tribes, I want to be Darth Vader to the richest man in the world and chill in unrivaled pre-war luxury when I'm not out breaking kneecaps. NCR and Legion can't offer me what House does and Yes Man is for insecure manchildren seeking an ego boost from 'winning' a video game.

This is as good of a thread as any to ask I guess. I'm starting a new modded playthrough of NV tomorrow. Should I use project nevada rebalance, vicious wastes, cirosans classic overhaul or jsawjer ultimate? I'm really not sure which is better.

Gameplay Boost: Project Nevada minus Rebalance, JSawyer, JIP Companions Command and Control, Animation Project, Armor Repair Kits

Super Mods: Tales of Two Wastelands (Lets you play the Fallout 3 campaign in the New Vegas engine, requires Fallout 3 installed to get started), A World Of Pain

Player Homes: Underground Hideout, Vault-HQ1 NV, Portable Tent

Waifu Mods: Willow, Vanessa, ARES Project

Job Mods: Run the Lucky 38, Express Delivery

Working Vehicles: XRE Cars and Vertibird, J3Xified Driveable Motorcycle

Lewds: Sexout Mods, Humping the Mojave

Pedo Lewds: Modified Sexout, Children of the Wasteland, EroCute (good luck finding it)

Other Cool Stuff: New Vegas Trade Center, Wasteland Defense, King of the Ring, Portable Turrets (goes great with player home mods), Nipton Rebuilt, Light Up and Smoke Those Cigarettes, New Vegas Railroad

This, House is the best ending for the Courier.

why not

Caesar is only good for bullying

For companions I would get the Joshua Graham mod, and if you plan on a house run the house securitron companion mod. The two mods by the guy who made interesting NPCs are good also, Vincent Vincent and Hope Lies. Willow is alright at first but I found she got pretty annoying after a bit.

Project Nevada, jip command and control and jsawyer ultimate for gameplay.

For player homes, I use two. Lucky 38 reloaded and the vertibird player home (which you can fly btw. Guessing it's similar to how it'll control in the frontier.)

For quests, can't go wrong someguy2000's stuff. Autumn leaves and boulder dome are suppose to be good but haven't gotten to try either yet.

I'd also recommend Coito ergo sum, which I don't see get mentioned much. It's the 2nd in a mod series that started in 3 (though theirs few connection between the two.) That basically involves taking over fallouts playboy magazine, called Lollipopz. You can get new prostitutes for your club, restart the magazine (you talk to people in the base game and get the option to pay them 50 caps to pose for you. Eventually you can get a photographer to take the pictures for you. You also choose the layout and what the articles talk about as well.) and eventually make porn videos, and you can star in both.

jsu

most balanced while being closest to base game

The NCR is so much better then the other factions it actually kinda makes it hard to take the final conflict seriously. Unless you're an independentfag but that's the copout safety ending.

>Willow

>go to Freeside
>everything is going to shit because a bunch of destitute NCR citizens are squatting there
>NCR is doing dick all about it

That adherence to old world values is really working out

>senate owned by brahmin barons
>rabid expansion and annexation of neighboring territories, the peoples of which get driven off so rich assholes could have their land or get taxed and made subject to military conscription without getting much in return
>president built his career on turning the nation into a jingoistic shithole
>general in charge of Mojave campaign is literally wasting money and murdering his own troops so he could one-up a retired ranger for personal glory
>Crimson Caravans sabotages the war effort and entire regional economy in order to establish a monopoly
>want the entire output of Helios One and Hoover Dam to go to their own heartland
>ambassadors' notes reveal how butthurt they are that they failed to subvert House's control of the Strip or fabricate an excuse to annex it by force
>so much better than the other factions
Also you misspelled 'than'.

>not being able to do a kill everything ending
the only NPCs you can't kill are Yes Man (because he acts as a way to finish the game if you piss everyone else off), and children

A few skeletons placed in funny poses is NOT a valid replacement for good writing and genuine Fallout style humor. I'm sorry Todd Howard has a gun to your head and is forcing you to write lies on the internet.

These are all super trivial problems compared to House and the Legion though.

>"The NCR has political corruption and obstructive bureaucracy!"
>vs the Legion which are glorified barbarians, and House which is more or less a feudal city-state that'll shoot you for being poor

As fucking shitty as the NCR is it's implied that their heartland is the only place in the entire US at least that seems to kinda have their shit together.

>vertibird player home
>new vegas railroad
How have I not heard of these before? Shit sounds cool as fuck.

>NCR has lost a thousand soldiers to the Mojave every year because their general is deliberately mismanaging his troops
>"super trivial"

The Core Region is a comfortable place to live because NCR funnels all its resources there. NCR is safe, NCR is prosperous, just as long as you're living in the right part of California. At least ALL the roads in Arizona are safe, not just the ones around Caesar's clubhouse in Flagstaff.

>NCR is safe, NCR is prosperous, just as long as you're living in the right part of California. At least ALL the roads in Arizona are safe, not just the ones around Caesar's clubhouse in Flagstaff.

And all the people in Arizona are safely poor, oppressed and destitute. Picking between the US and the Legion is like picking between 19th-century USA and Saudi Arabia (except an even more retarded version who shuns most if not all modern technology for no reason), as fucking shitty as the former is it's hard not to argue it's still relatively the best government to live under considering the alternatives.

>except an even more retarded version who shuns most if not all modern technology for no reason
It's because they don't want to have to rely on old world technology, so therefore their soldiers will be stronger.

>Taking stupid meme stories over an actual competent leveling system

>And all the people in Arizona are safely poor, oppressed and destitute.
So now we're onto the "making shit up" part of the argument. Fantastic.

There's no mention of how people in Arizona live their lives, or what condition things are in besides a mention from Cass and a trader at the Fort who claim it's so safe you don't need bodyguards to travel the roads. And not only that but the only thing ever mentioned about Legion towns says nothing of the sort.

>Oppressed but no better or worse than when raiders and tribals were around
>Supplied with electricity, water and safety
>no mention of the financial state of things beyond the fact that people willingly trade there because of the safety which would indicate that maybe they do pretty well for themselves because traders don't trade in places with nothing to offer no matter how safe

Also "poor" and "destitute" are the same thing, dipshit.

>not killing everyone and eating their brains
casuals

>intentionally giving yourself kuru
nigga u dum as fuk

this tbqh

>dis nigga doesn't know

that perk is bad and you are bad

>lmao dude if we come at those guys with guns with spears it will make us stronger

autism
I mean typically economies don't do great under dictatorships, even particularly stable ones, and the Legion's dislike of modern technology doesn't really lead to good living conditions nor very conducive to trade.

But sure let's ignore any sort of speculation and just go with what's explicitly stated in the game + Sawyer's comments. Even then we're talking about an military dictatorship that at best is just the same but without raiders, or at worst just trades them for arbitrary legionnaire demands and slavery. Moreover since the Legion by their nature has an expiry date when Caesar dies, things probably won't go well for the places under their control in the long run. At the very most it's better being under them then being a shitty independent town, but it's still a massive step down from either the NCR or hell even House's glorified kingdom.

>Also "poor" and "destitute" are the same thing, dipshit.
Eh I'd say they have different connotations at the very least.

...

...

>Roman Legion were literal faggots
Just like OP

>The legion dies when Caesar does

Sure, assuming he doesn't become some kind of god figure of legion religion. A lot of characters who barely know the legion seem to believe it can't outlast Caesar. However, what no one is banking on is what Caesar intends to do if he gets New Vegas and how that will change the legion. Transform it into his Rome. A place people would come to, not stay away from. A place fit to last as the seat of an empire for decades.

Someone really ought to ask Sawyer about the prospects of long term legion stability if they get New Vegas with Caesar leading them, if it hasn't been asked already.

The subject of gayess in the legion is a little weird. You get the fruits in the NCR saying the Legion are open about it and have these awesome butt fucking orgies. But then you get the Legion slave telling you about how his gay relationship with his master had to be kept secret or they would be killed. The whole "legion is gay" thing may just be NCR propaganda. Which is kind of ironic, considering how a supposedly progressive faction would make fun of such a thing.

>a supposedly progressive faction
If you try to hit on Major Knight at Mojave Outpost he'll tell you how things are more conservative outside the Republic itself

honestly, i wish fallout 4 was worth discussing but i couldn't even complete it, it was really that bad.

What other games can you play as the """evil""" faction which has a well developed quest line

not him but
>the hoarder house
>the settlement completely wiped out by the institute because some girl found something on a computer
>the pink slime school
>The hydroponics farm completely run by bots
>The town center completely run by bots
>the Vault that taught children to be soldiers
>the vault filled with pre-war celebrity robobrains
>The giant sinkhole
>The too-good-to-be-true town that hid a secret compound that interrogated synths
>The mysterious shed with plungers all over the floor with a trail leading across he ceiling
>The entire story of oswald the outrageous
>The shovel museum in nukaworld
>Every single zone of nukaworld
>the mayoral shelter that had the town riot and you find the mayor in the basement
>if you clear out certian raider encampments, it appears as notes on raider terminals
>the forged gang that lives in a steel plant
>the waterside settlement that was invaded by mirelurks
>the crazy cat lady in diamond city
>the pre-war serial killer under the sewers of diamond city
>the buried church in the glowing sea that broadcasts a feral ghoul speaking into a microphone
>The bank robbery that occurred when the bombs dropped that you can find in downtown
>the bohemian club reference with a fully voice acted holotape story
>the cheers bar
>the secret government listening post under an unassuming cabin that turns out to be huge
>The Switchboard in it's entirety
>You can find your neighbors as ghouls
the random distress signals you can find that tell stories, like the lady locked in the bank vault, or the guy locked in the dam
that's just off the top of my head. You can find a ton more if you spend more than 5 minutes with the game and stray so much as an inch from the main questline

>19 years later
>still can't join the Enclave

what a deplorable franchise to be quite frank senpai

The only good thing about the Legion was Caesar himself desu

The faction was underdeveloped. Caesar was the best NPC in the game tho

but seriously, if you haven't finished NukaWorld, you're in for a real treat. Even if you just kill everyone and say fuck it to all the quests. Best fallout area to date.

>the basic Legion machete does so little damage it can't even beat the DT of NCR fatigues
>meanwhile changes to the Service Rifle made it a really good weapon for NPCs to use

It just ain't fair

I still saw 2 legion guys wreck 4 NCR guys with nothing but spears. It was really awesome actually. One of the legion guys actually picked up the service rifle of the first guy he killed and used it on the other NCR guys. Meanwhile, the second legionnaire got up in their faces with the machete and kept them focused on him. The fight ended with just the service rifle wielding legionary alive.

>Melee

Delet this

>Guns
>Explosives
>Energy Weapons
>Unarmed

That picture is missing some stuff, like killing Vulpes Inculta the first time you see him and avenging the deaths of Searchlight by sending radioactive drums into Cottonwood Grove.

Throwing Spears are great, it's too bad they're so rare. And that NPCs are so shit at using them.

>watch a Legionary with a spear try and hit a Molerat
>misses every throw
>keeps trying as the Molerat bites his legs off
>gets a hit and then drops dead

Will forever hate Beth for the fact you were forced to go along with the brotherhood not giving you the ability to join the Enclave

>want to build a character for a Legion playthrough
>can't think of any good backstories

play as a sheltered avid bookreader and of course a huge roman fag because of said "reading materials"

alright come to daddy

Caesar is just a weeboo for Roman shit

I don't understand why people say House was the best choice of humanity when he wanted to remove the city from the face of the Earth and have it floating around in space.

for some reason there is nothing comfier to me than just sitting in a casino in New Vegas and gambling

living in the apocalypse just playing blackjack, roulette, and slots like it doesn't even matter

>House wants to put Vegas in space
What are you huffing and will it kill me if I use it too

Don't forget he was so perfect that they had to remove an option from him just so he wouldn't be the obvious choice.

Hello

>hurrrr football pads and spears

Niggers of the Mojave.

Nothing like feeding your gambling addiction while the world is in anarchy. I agree

Maybe should do it after I am through Fallout 4 for once
