So, now that the save-file-eating bugs are supposedly fixed, is it the slick explorational half-life game i thought it would be?

No.
It is a less man's system shock.
Which is still better than Bioshock.

No. It's a BS-clone, masquarading as a System Shock, overshilled to death by unsubtle Zenimax fucks

It's better than Bioshock by miles.

yes it is. dont listen to the "geniuses" of v.

I was originally really intrigued by what seemed like a lot of environmental interaction. Would you say its not using those kinds of puzzles as much?

>ONE (1) enemy type
>"lol it was all a dream!" tweest end
heck, even Bethesda's insiders said it would be shit.

>Half Life
>exploration
What are you smoking?
It's nothing like Half Life, it's more like System Shock meets Deus Ex meets STALKER
And yes it's pretty good

Im not discouraged from buying it, just wondering if its for a sale day since people went into a frenzy from the glitches. Also liked the nice Art-deco 1920's theme to the architecture.

7 enemy types but ok.
8 if you include turrets.

No i meant "like half life" more over because of the atmosphere and the environment puzzles.
The exploration part was separate

eh thats actually saddening. I thought they would have like tons of forms, especially since bethesda marketed them as a variable tricky enemy

>1 enemy type
Thus far, I've encountered Mimics, Phantoms, Cysts and their Cystoids, and those flying monsters that can take turrets and use them against you. Oh and a Weaver. They all act differently and are all visually dissimilar.

I'm not including they sub-type of enemies like fire/psychic/electric versions of one type of enemy.

I also just forgot about he poltergeist.
So all together there is like 16 enemies in the game.

Which is pretty good for a FPS since most are just Dude with gun and dude with different gun.

Its fine but doesn't do anything outstanding. Take Dude Sex and mash it together with deadspace and you got Prey

Puzzles don't really exist but you can get pretty creative in how you approach different situations

I guess that amount's fair. Are there any boss fight tho? They count too

Bethesda pretty much just described the mimic.
which literally fucks your face when you pass it mimicking something.

The game isn't a horror game.

I really loved the GLOO gun as soon as i saw it, i like do-it-all weapons like that

Did they finally fix the fucking input lag on PS4 ?
I really wanna play this game

What would be considered a boss fights are quickly turned into normal enemies late.
It just becomes challenges to over come depending on the environment and enemy selection most of the time. that and being strapped for equipment.

Was hoping for specialised typhons where you like cant figure out their abilities, or more advanced versions of normal aliens at least?

>specialised typhons where you cant figure out their abilities
Nope. There are specialized ones of varying degrees, but there's nothing that good.

You get a helmet that scans enemies and tells you what they are capable of, what they are weak against, what they are strong against as well as their names.

The aliens are only a mystery to you for about a third of the game.

There's a massive typhoon that starts following you when you get alien neuromods

0.O now that sounds fun

Okay then

It's not, it's get stuck on everything and if it crawls through a door way, good chance it's stuck there, so you can just wail on it for a bit or just wait it out for it vanish.

You know, for a moment there I thought you were telling me there's actually an enemy in Prey that eats your save file.

Holy shite that would be diabolical

Hope they're aware of it to patch it. I cant get my thrills if i cant get got.

lol you niggers need to play undertale then, fuck's sake

who also turns into a bitch

Its on my radar. I like the concepts in it, but ive yet to play

So a Bethesda insider has bad taste. He probably loved Skyrim and was super excited to help market Fallout 4.

eh, not quite the same as an active action game enemy who can corrupt your save some how.

eh, there are locked rooms that you can puzzle your way into earlier than intended, which is nice.

>never install an alien neuromod
>still get attacked

T-thanks for the warning January

I was surprised there was no big finish at the end. I was already kind of expecting no boss because fewer games seem to have them nowadays, but there wasn't even a gauntlet.

>only 5% of players
why are there so few crusaders of justice?

Because the game doesn't track it properly

well thats shity. glad I got lucky then, that would have pissed me off

ignore the contrarian faggots who shit on everything and play nothing

it's a good SS2 clone, not groundbreaking, but it's worth a play
