Why are JRPG stories so convoluted?

Why are JRPG stories so convoluted?

Japs like to think, even if it's over something really stupid.

They don't know when to stop

Why is some old man vomiting blue shit in the background?

They almost never are, people just like exaggerating.

What are the most convoluted JRPG stories?

For the good kind, pic related.
For the bad kind, Kingdom Hearts.

Xenogears probably

gooks just aren't as adapt at writing as white people

The Trails series are autistically and unnecessarily over-detailed in every single way

>7 games, new one coming out soon, hinted at least 10 more planned down the line
>all stories are connected to and build off eachother
>shit that's gotten introduced back in 2004 only getting explained a fucking decade later
>each individual game on its own has more text than the fucking lord of the rings trilogy

These are both good kind desu

Name ONE game that does that

This is a great game.

Too bad it's altogether shit.

For fun.

Why do translators of jrpgs (and jap games in general) use archaic or faux old english words and grammar

>franchise that actually cares about the world that it takes place in
>writes history without retcons
>somehow a bad thing

Xenogears does, in fact, exactly the very thing.

Not exactly. Lahan doesn't have anything special about it that anyone is trying to take, like a world conquering gem. It literally was just collateral damage in a war it wanted nothing to do with.

>Fuck yeah you are the best character ever
>I'm not gonna be in the sequel

Adept, you fucking stormfag

Because the japanese create entertainment made entirely of worn-out tropes and it shows. Just look at most animes. Obnoxious fanservice gags in anime, small hometown gets destroyed and you have to find the 4/5/7 magical whatevers in JRPGs.

because makers of jrpgs (and jap games in general) use archaic or faux old japanese words and grammar

This. Very few JRPGs have interesting hooks/ever mix it up. The last JRPG I enjoyed was years ago, and it was NieR. It mixed everything up, the characters were actually charming and written in a very "western" way, more natural. For example, Kaine defies all expectations, based on her design you'd expect her to act like the generic final fantasy type girl, but instead she's a foul-mouthed, rude asshole that goes way beyond what the ultra-safe, japanese mean girl archetype is and she's hilarious for it.

>kaine
>girl

For western purposes, yes :^))))))

>the bad ass guy is upside down

Can you confirm she raped a dead guy in the ass because he looked like nier ? I can't track down all the side material.

>Plot goes nowhere
>Butchers the previous game
>Kills the franchise
