I hope with the reworks they either remove speed and crit entirely, or change the numbers back to a 2.0 baseline instead of inflating it. It's pointless to be up in the hundreds and probably thousands when they just keep rebalancing that shit for each new batch of levels to remove any benefit from the stats going into a new expansion. Get rid of the number as it stands if it does stay, begin with something like "10% crit : GCD - 0.0s" and then tack on extra %s and fractions of second for the gear.

It's not even behind the scenes. Some of the Ascians like Nabriales are just plain edgy faggots, but Elidibus keeps them around as useful idiots. Elidibus, Lahabrea, and Igeyorhm at least are/were all fighting to restore the universe to its original state. They consider that the level of death and destruction is necessary for the sake of fixing everything, and isn't actually that harmful in the long run because dead people just go to the Lifestream to be reborn into another form later anyway.

Because one half are hard working, free market drivers, and the other half are bleeding heart, special snowflake leeches that think government can solve all the problems.

You do a bunch of easy tasks (mini-quests basically) then you farm random FATEs for lockboxes which you can subsequently appraise like in PotD, they drop random gear, miscellany and spoils that you can exchange for materia and mats. You can also gather and fish there. There's also boss FATEs that drop more lockboxs and minions and a randomly spawning "raid boss" emergency mission that has a change to drop an aetherial i280 weapon to a random member of the party.
