What's up with this?
Is Actiblizzard trying to make the next Steam?
Are they buying Bungie?
Didn't they just drop the "Battle.net" moniker?

>The company is known for its informal and dedicated workplace culture, and recently signed a ten-year publishing deal with Activision.

>we don’t have any short- or long-term plans to support third-party games with Battle.net.

And I think the name change was just for the launcher itself

the best way to kill WoW.

Do not buy destiny 2.

Seems like a right move to me.

It's so Activision doesn't have to deal with Valve taking a cut of their games and can use servers already set up and maintained by the company.

It's a smart decision.

Just keeping the filthy pirates in the gutter where they belong

They still release cawadootys on steam, though

Oh so that's why they renamed it the blizzard launcher.

Activision is making it's own store called battle.net

How does this keep pirates out?
And how would you even pirate Destiny 2 when it's an online videogame?
It's like trying to pirate Overwatch.

...

Have to have a battlenet account to play the game. Im sure it will check for stolen versions of the game

Why wouldn't that work with Steam?
As I said, it's a multiplayer game, it's impossible to pirate it unless someone makes some servers.

Idk i dont even have a pc lol

lol rofl :D

>Is Actiblizzard trying to make the next Steam?
No
>Are they buying Bungie?
Destiny is not Bungie IP
>Didn't they just drop the "Battle.net" moniker?
Battle.net is the store, the launcher is called Blizzard Launcher.

I'm pretty sure it would still make it harder for someone to make a server then. Even then, that's probably not the driving factor. Like someone else has mentioned, It will keep most of the cash flow within the Activision-Blizzard parent company, instead of portions going to Valve.

>Battle.net is the store, the launcher is called Blizzard Launcher.
That's retarded

I'm going to buy Destiny 2 for PC and will enjoy playing it with friends.

AMA

What's it like having friends?

How is your mom doing?

...

I still feel empty inside, who knows
she cried last time we talked because I barely call home once a month

Its all the same. They even said in the announcement that it will launch throught he blizzard "launcher" which says battle.net when you click on it anyway

Its fun you should try it

Some companies do it
Uplay is also not a store, but a launcher. The store itself is called Ubisoft Store.

They are a huge self-publishing company, ofcourse they'd have their own piece of shit.
Its a good question about battle.net though, it was a pretty dumb move to rename it Blizzard App and then start putting Activision games on it like you are completely retarded because you snort 3bil dollars worth of cocaine in a year.

Using Battle.net here shows that they are even aware that its a well known branding

What's it feel like to support the most cancerous company in videogame history?

Calling your Store 'Battle.net' instead of keeping it as a gaming tool/network connecting players (and calling that a Blizzard app) is all kinds of retarded.

pretty good, once you accept you're part of the problem but don't care, it's pretty comfy just to relax in the escapism

I fucking hate having a bunch of different clients installed just to play certain vidya
wish they put it on bnet and steam so you can decide what jew to support more then

I doubt I will get my friends to buy it, they are still angry with me about Battlefield 1, even though I didn't actually told them to buy it, just bought it myself.

I doubt this'll be a good game, too much of a console title.

Why does anybody care? You don't actually want this shitty borderlands for big boys d-do you?

Well they just wish to keep the 30% fee on every sale that Valve would take if they did that.
Would you pay 30% more just to buy it on Steam?

I think it fits. Think about what kind of game Destiny is and tell me it doesn't fit along WoW, Diablo, Overwatch and Starcraft.

What fits?
Its an activision game, not a blizzard one.

How is this surprising anymore with that valve's 30% cut
and no, i didn't play the first destiny but watching footage of destiny 2 it looks so underwhelming

>Developer walks in to PC gaming
>Can't use Steam
>See Battle.net owned by same company
>"this will do"

almost perfect...

C-C-COMBO BREAKER

How can you not care? How can you be so apathetic about your hobby?

Bungie's not that bad dude and Destiny was still a good game with a couple fun quips.

Not him but its pretty easy. theres literally a million retards buying anything absurd like an FPS-MMO for consoles only that runs at 30fps.
Compared to that the people with standards are a drop in a sea that nobody gives a shit about.

It just doesn't matter, might aswell try and extract some fun out of these pieces of shit with my normie friends.

because I have bigger and better hobbies

video games are inconsequential to me

I just don't care, sorry user

>Are they buying Bungie?
>Are they buying what they already own?

>muh 30fps

just stop

Disgusting

Its practically unplayable to me, I'm used to 120hz and fps. stuttery 30fps, auto-aim shooting, its dogshit, I'm sorry you don't know any better.

sucks for you i suppose :)

No, it sucks for you, you are just too stupid to realize or care why, thats also the same reason why you enjoy shitposting like this.
That, and your age.

but destiny 2 goes up to 144fps on PC

They're all MMO or multiplayer focused autism fests.

im not the one not enjoying things haha

this, honestly

/thread

Happy as a pig waddling in shit. Congratulations

back the fuck off!?!

Got an inside leak of how the board room conversation went

>hey lets pay valve to do literally fucking nothing besides hindering our ability to patch our game
>what about this service we already own that has 30 million copies of an fps sold and around 100 million or so copies of an mmo sold
>alright

so jewish SJW marxist soros funded conspiracy?

Why pay Valve 30% of the cut for nothing when they already have Battlenet right there?

>30 million sold
You forgot to mention it counts console sales too, i.e, people who probably don't even know what battle.net is

>Does this mean other games are going to come to the Blizzard platform too?

>Our focus in terms of supporting non-Blizzard games is solely around Destiny 2. Aside from potentially evaluating needs or opportunities for future Activision games, we don’t have any short- or long-term plans to support third-party games with Battle.net. It’s important to us to maintain our quality standards for any experience or service we’re putting in front of our players, which represents a big investment of time and effort on our part, so this is not something we’re jumping into lightly.

Because steam takes 30% revenue. If Activision release on their own platform, they get 100% revenue. It complete jewery.

I don't get why ameritards suck it up to blizzard so much, its like blizzard veiny cock is so tasty for them, they cannot hold themselves, not putting it in their mouths makes them feel insecure, and they act all smug in a ''are you in?" attitude as if getting fucked by blizzard is a priviledge because there have banners and ads all over america, this somehow fails to appeal to me, am i a genius or just not american?

are you repressing anything? ;)

#woah #wow normie psycholie strikes again
how will i ever recover?

>am i a genius or just not american?

Neither, and you're a cynical cuck too.

sounds like it lol

Oh boy he unpacked the localized slangs, i am in trouble now, gee, guess i will have to give blizzard money now... oh well.

>Are they buying Bungie?
Probably, I would be surprised if the 10-year contract didn't end in an acquisition

dude weird analogy gay lol xd

sniff me

PC's Nintendo.

How is that jewery? They're selling their game on their platform. I'm having a hard time seeing what's wrong here. Sure it'd be better if they released the game on other platforms as well, including Steam, but battle.net is theirs just like Origin is EA's and you don't see them releasing their games on Steam anymore either

I've never played destiny, but mmochampion has a quite a rift

what was the question?

Battle.net is becoming Activision's Steam/Origin/Uplay and that's all there is to it. CoD will be an exclusive on it for PC eventually. I don't really care anyway, I use them all in some form or another. Bnet for Overwatch, Origin for BF1, Uplay for Rainbow Six, Steam for everything else. It has no effect on me anyway, it's already installed and I got my accounts set up. Not getting Destiny 2 anyway, or any CoD, but not for that reason.

I don't know.

mmo-champion posters are the most braindead of all forum posters on the internet

>Battle.net

i can't wait for smooth dedicated servers & famous Blizzard ban waves for cheating faggots

>No dedicated servers

Oh

>and that's all there is to it
But that's not all there is to it. A decision like that would be thought out well in advance, and they JUST got done dropping the "Battle.net" name, now they've brought it back.

Why do people enjoy Destiny again? I played a bit of it on a friend's PS4 recently and the game stank of microtransaction heaven. It doesn't even have a fucking coherent story ffs, it's just an excuse to charge people inordinate amounts of money from DLCs to weapons and costumes.

Just take a look at this 'synopsis' of the game's story. This is by far the most coherent one out there too.
eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-18-destinys-story-for-people-who-dozed-off

>Will you be trying Destiny 2?

They're probably just gonna re-re-brand it. They want their own Steam and it's sitting right there. I always thought it was weird as fuck that only Blizzard games would require it and I knew this day would come. They'll probably end up calling it just BattleNet or something, without the dot. Just to its recognizable and has a more regular title instead of what looks like a website.

who cares? the game is fucking shit.

Nobody cares about console shooters on PC.

>redditors don't know how to vertical text

>mmo-champion
>80% of their forum threads are how Trump's Hitler

>caring at all what those """"people"""" think

The game itself will use Bungie's services not Blizzard's

>Overwatch

It's still called Blizzard, they even changed the logo. They call it Blizzard App on their store as well as the process is called Blizzard.

>yfw the next "PLEASE PLAY HEROES OF THE STORM IT DIDN"T FLOP" promotion is destiny 2 characters

...

ok, where do I have to go? ... please tell me
